  1. How did you fix it? Could be useful for other members in the future?
  2. Cheers my lip already had quite a few scuffs on the underneath even before lowering, but I don't thinks it's from humps (I think it's from slopes) surprisingly since lowered I Havnt scraped the bumper on a single hump, I have only scraped twice now overall, and that was the underside opposed to the bumper, and even then I think had I approached it better I wouldn't of scraped atall. In short I Havnt had any issues And I was lucky enough to snap it up on here, it's an shine auto one so has some flex Cheers guys
  3. For someone who was swaying between skirts and steps, this isn't the thread I need haha great offer!
  4. A friend of mine just uploaded some quick pics from the other night, I couldn't resist sharing.. Really makes me want to pull my finger out and give the side skirts another bash!
  5. On their machine they put in the reg etc and that brings up the setting paremeters etc, the only input they then have is a choice between 17 and 18" wheels, i did query that and they said the 19's wouldnt make a difference so I would say a generic printout.. to answer your earlier question btw GMballistic, the 19" drive fantastic.
  6. thanks for the posts guys, took me a few attempts due to toe bolt issues but here is my final settings
  7. Thanks jp606, im very happy with them Not too much of an update, but finally got my wheels all aligned! was a longer procedure than necessary as during my first alignment, he told me he thinks the toe bolts were going to snap, fearing I would have to drive home "hoping it doesnt come out" (his words) I thought it would be best to leave it and revisit after I replaced the bolts. I did already have new toe bolts which came with my camber arms so wasnt too much of an issue But here was the readout before anything was touched... As you can see some dodgey toe in! Come the weekend I was able to get my toe bolts sorted (with the use of some localised heat) and holes elongated as per instructions with the camber kit I then went to another alignment place to finally get me all pointing the right way Readout after camber adjustment from first alignment, and after replacing rear toe bolts. And final adjustment, went with 2 degrees of negative camber at the rear.
  8. I know the general concesus with wheel widths and offsets etc is 10.5j et20 rear (275 tyre) 9.5j et20 front (245) this is what I and many others have. If you want to keep your current tyres 8.5 and 9.5 sounds like a good shout, although off the top of my head I wouldn't know what offset to advise (sure someone will be along to help) But I have a 245 on a 9.5j and it's fine Some useful sites: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/tyre-size-for-rim-width_topic60146.html I would recommend Cougar Store for your wheels, and he'll be able to advise too I'm sure
  9. Go for the skirts, but maybe get a calculator too...... Haha that was a typo I promise
  10. A handy tip if rattle canning the wheels with the tyres of, get an old pack of cards (or rip up a cerise box) and wedge between the tyre and the rim, good easy way of masking off
  11. the 3d carbon ones.. i look forward to seeing them..!
  12. thanks a lot for the detailed response mate, i would agree the upper limits of oem spec would be the best for me. I do have adjustable camber arms but i must admit the droplinks are something no thought was given too.. thanks mate
  13. Hi guys, booked in for a wheel alignment tomorrow on their Hunter system. Just wondering what kind of set up i should be aiming for, such as degree of camber etc? I have a 30mm drop with eibachs, camber adjustment arms, running 19" 10.5 and 9.5j wheels (not sure if wheel size makes a difference?). I would like to preserve tyre wear but at the same time I want the handling to be there if ever so need be... Thanks in advance
  14. interesting responses again, and again surprising how split the opinions are! thanks again for the input guys, i keep changing my mind but and probably 65 45 towards skirts, will give them a try hopefully this weekend and go from there
  15. Thanks mate, I'm really pleased with them, looks good when the light hits them
  16. I wonder/worry about this too, but I hear a lot of reassuring comments about mileage just being 1 factor towards engine life.. I just ticked over to 75k, 68800 when I got it..
  17. Thanks for all the prompt replies guys! Your feedback is much appreciated Interesting to see the divide between the 2 options. I don't like the idea of black steps or black spats, I think the steps will look too subtle if not colour coded, and that's not what I want, I'm inclined to agree with the skirt option as mentioned earlier they look more aggressive, think I'll try another fitting session maybe this weekend and go from there... Thanks again for the input guys And daveyboy they are matt bronze
  18. Right as some of you may or may not know iv had the side skirts sitting in the garage a while now, and after a few driveway attempts of fitting i slowly began to fall out of love with the idea and in favour of the side steps. Pros and cons to both really, and sometimes iv made my mind up 99% then i have doubts again and sway to the other. so would like your opinions as I am currently very much swinging towards the steps.. Steps: -very easy fit (pretty much bolt on using existing side skirt bolts), my side skirts however are not so straight forward, but I have since cut away what i suspect to be the main contributor to the fitting issue. But i am yet to try...) -lower (could count as a disadvantage on -30mm springs?) -can paint myself -not so many people have, especially c/c skirts: -already have (but require more faffing) -must admit i think they look better Anyways some quick mock up pictures i did (excuse the very quick edits, you get the idea) Side steps: Side Skirts: cheers
  19. Cheers guys Parello to be fair my drive is quite uneven, making the front left look even lower lol
  20. give me a few days and i should be able to let know you
  21. cheers buddy sizes should be about somewhere, sizes are: 10.5j et20 rear with 275/35/19 9.5j et20 front with 245/35/19 thanks mate, im very happy with them indeed!
  22. So yesterday saw us start the day with fitting the camber arms in preparation for the new wheels and tyres! old item left, and obviously the new unit on the right. It was at this point I realized how little adjustment you have as standard, the only adjustment in a small slotted hole! Then off to the tyre shop! Then as I whipped the old wheel off and the new one rolled into position we was once again reminded on the width of these! makes the old 245 looks small! And fitted pictures the dull skies dont bring in much good light so will get some better pics hopefully in the week very happy with these indeed! Ill hopefully get in for a full Hunter alignment Monday afternoon if all goes to plan! A big thanks goes to my mate Jak for his help with fitting the arms and transporting my wheels and tyres to the shop and back, we ended up taking 2 cars, neither of which was the zed *edit* Sun came out so another quick shot
  23. i know exactly what you mean! I too was reluctant, but I had just bought a new set of tyres and after seeing the camber I had after lowering I thought to myself, yeah I think its a wise move, nice thought the alignment can be all set up correctly too
  24. The old tyres you see in the pic are my ol old tyres, kumho KU39 with only about 3.5mm tread on, 1 tyres has a small crack going over the middle of it too... The camber arms were from us, they're £180.00... Cheers parello, and as above got from CS and very promptly too i might add! recommend!
  25. Some goodies arrived this week Eibach adjustable rear camber kit. Lowering gave me quite a bit of camber so these should help with bringing back into alignment. Thanks again to Cougar store for top service as always And thanks to funky tyres my new tyres arrived for the Rotas Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 2. 275/35/19 for the rear 245/35/19 for the front And stacked up beside my OEM sized tyres, gives a good idea of the additional width
