Hey guys, Got word from Nissan today. They are giving me a full refund for all work carried out. Yey!!! Great result! Thought id let you guys know...

Well we will see what happens. I called them today and raised a ticket. Waiting to hear from Nissan... Ill let you guys know.

I just got the letter of the recall... Wonder if I can acquire for a refund from Nissan? Was less than 3 months (end of Jan) when mine was replaced. I always thought they might recall these models. Glad everyone else getting it sorted though.

Do you know the company? He said again about his dealer and said if it made me feel better I could drive my car down. See the dealer and stock etc. What got me was I couldnt find anything at all on the web about this company... Or very very little.

He called me again this morning and I told him I didnt want to go for it. Told him why and there wasnt much he could say to convince me. Essentially no real way fro me to know for sure.

Hi, I got a call tonight from someone called Dean saying they were from Autovia in Peterborough. After a lenghty call the deal is they buy my car and sell it on. I get a final amount of £xxxxx and no other hidden costs etc. Now this all seems to good to be true to me... They said they will pick up the car and I keep the V5. The car will be sold through them and I get a set amount. I get this amount when it sells of after 60 days if the car has not sold either way. Offered me £17000 for my car, initially £16500. Ive had a good look round on the web and cat find anything negative (or positive) about the company and im just posting this to see if anyone has heard or has any knowledge of the company. www.autoviacars.co.uk.razsor.autotrader.co.uk/ http://www.autotrade...stock/used/cars Anyway im after any info or opinions on this. Its the first ive heard of anything like this. My gut says its too good to be true... Thanks

Hey all, I have recently been offered a new job (starts in April) and it comes with a company car so ive decided to sell the 370Z since my partner has a car, dont really have need for 3 cars. Its a damn shame tbh since the time and effort I took to find the model I wanted but there is just no point keeping it. I refuse to use the Z with the car allowance and id really rather not buy a second car sooooooo... Good news is that I have a new job Bad news is I have chosen to sell the 370Z Anyway its been a great car, loved every second (bar the steering lock failure lol) and it really will be a huge shame to see it go. My partner and I think this is the best way forward so car is now up for sale Id like to say thanks to all for the help and support on the forum. Looks like ill have a few choices for the company car but not sure which at the mo. Cheers

Update: Picked up my car today. 1 day early so cant be bad. Good news on arriving, Benfield Nissan offered me further discount on the £475 repair. This was a total surprise and I just cant believe how good this dealer has been with me. Even better than Honda, which is saying something since I was a customer with them for 5 years. They reduced the charge down to £366, another £109 off!!! With the £175 ill be getting from the place I bought the car means I'm only paying £191 Im over the moon. So good to have the car back, and the steering lock control comes with 12 month warranty. Fingers crossed for no more issues. All in all Benfield Nissan have been outstanding as far as customer care goes... \0/ cheer!

I know I shouldn't have to pya but due to the circumstances I feel I got at least something, and having more than 50% of the repair covered is oki. Ill call them about getting the part... Dunno how id go about fixing it?!?

Update: Nissan have agreed a contribution of £238, so basically 33% of the cost. Dealer said main reason why it wasnt more is because I didnt buy the car from Nissan and the 3rd service wasn't completed by Nissan. So ive accepted that and I have £475 to pay. I have called the dealer I bought the car from in Colchester and Mark (the owner) has agreed to pay £175 towards the cost also as a gesture of good will. So all in all im paying £300 for the repair and I have a 12 month warranty on all parts and labour from Nissan. I did hope for more from Nissan but since both Nissan and the dealer arent obliged to contribute anything Im satisfied with that. Work being done, said part should arrive tomorrow and car be ready for Friday. They also letting me keep the courtesy car until I pick up the 370Z which is nice. Benfield Nissan in Newcastle now have a customer guaranteed! Mark from Alresford Garage in Colchester has also been awesome. All in all not bad I think... Just hope nothing else goes wrong now. Bri

On back order (1month wait!) 5 BigSlick, Sep 2009 (59 plate 14000miles), Benfield Nissan Newcastle, (£191 paid for repair with partial contributions from Nissan, point of purchase and Benfield) Car coming up to 4 months OOW.

Picked up my courtesy car and is a manual Micra... yey! Spoke to the Service Manager and he said he has a 370z on a 10 plate but its in hi garage until March ;-) He is aware of fault and trying to get Nissan to cover the cost or make a partial contribution. He also said the part will be Version 4 or some such. Im sure someone mentioned that the 09 plates have Version 3 of the SLU. So he thinks the newer version of the part will be fine... Everyone very nice at the Service Dept so all is good so far. You dont know how good it feels to have a car again even if it is just a Micra. I will get an update from Nissan on Monday they said...

Update: Getting a Micra tomorrow for courtesy car... auto as well. And tbh right now I dont care... I think its awesome of Nissan to offer me a courtesy car since technically im not their customer yet. Also waiting on finding out about cover repair cost. They wanted contact number for dealer I bought it from. So something good I guess. Free courtesy car and it seems Nissan are doing everything they can to help... I was impressed with service and support from Honda dealer when I had my Civic and I'm getting just as good if not above and beyond service from Nissan. Suppose golden egg will be if Nissan cover the repair cost... Fingers crossed

Update: Nissan called and it is the Steering Lock Unit. £713 for the repair. So ive asked for a GoGW from Nissan which they are doing and also if Nissan say no they will ask the Service Manager to see what they can offer. Waiting game now. However on a good note. Excellent service from Nissan dealer, its the Benfield one in central Newcastle. I also get a free courtesy car which is awesome considering until now im not officially their customer but its my intention to take the car there in September. So we will see what happens now. I was told on the phone that repair used to be £1200 and Nissan reduced part cost so its now around £700. Fingers crossed. Ill update you guys when I have more info...

Well RAC have been and gone. Car still stuck outside my parents. Being collected by low loader tomorrow morning. Called the dealer and informed them. They have heard of it but said it 'rarely' happens on a 370Z. I said there are quite a few people on the web saying its happened to them. Mentioned the warranty and said I expect a gesture of good will from Nissan (which he said they would have to ask Nissan for anyway) for either 100% or part contribution due to my warranty expiring near end of September 2012. I called the dealer I bought car from, obviously he isnt happy but was accomodating and asked to be kept in the loop and said he would help where he could but limited which I kinda assumed money wise. I feel it really will be the steering lock failure. I am well and truly gutted that this has happened so close to the warranty and will so few miles on the clock. I only bought the car on 3rd of October 2012. So im at work tomorrow and ill be finding out during the day what the actual problem is. Nissan aslo wasnt £95 to diagnose the problem and he said that its only free if it is repaired by them. :-/ I just hope Nissan will cover the repair if needed.

Well not good my 3 month warranty ran out on 3rd January lol from the dealer I bought it from... So gonna ring the dealer tomorrow and also Nissan, but first off it needs to be recovered and taken to the Nissan dealer....... Im literally gutted! I cant beleive this, I bought 3 year old with 12k on clock. I wonder if it can only being the steering lock failure? I just dont know... I cant afford to pay for a £1000+ repair if it doesnt get fixed in warranty.

Wonder if the 3 month dealer warranty will cover it...? Anyway ill get back to you let you all know the crack Gutter!

The 2nd key doesnt work only light on dash is the KEY light The Intelligent Key System Warning light... But I thought that was always on? Anyway now its on when I open the car and sit in it... Still nothing? Mines just OOW from end of September 2012.... Only got 3months with the dealer I bought it from too... so that is due to expire this month if not already. :(

Yeah I think maybe. Checked lights and battery works. Ill try the steering lock also im gonna get my spare key... Ive tried changin the battery and it opens and locks the car... brb... need to trek to get spare key lol in my dads car.......
