I would be interested if that worked too
Thats a nice looking unit, with the bonus of AUX in for mp3
Would save alot of hassle if it was plug and play, although would the newer unit have better sq.
I was thinking of putting a Pioneer DEH P80rs in there

It's unlikely to be a Nissan part for the sensors as they were dealer fit. The control unit is usually in that area though as it takes power from the reverse light. With the car in reverse feel each sensor with your fingers, when working correctly you should feel them clicking/pulsing.
I replace my whole kit with a £18 one from ebay when one of the sensors failed. It's a bumper off job but there's a decent guide online on how to do it.
Getting the foam out from the boot takes a bit of force due to its shape.
Thanks
Ill going to take a closer look over the weekend, the Nissan part mentioned looked like a typical siren, so this
maybe the alarm?
Having looked at the actual sensors, they got a few marks around the holes, so not a great job.
Ill get some images up soon, and as mentioned before i need to either get underneath/ take bumper off the car.
Ps
Noticed your sig and the Audio setup, have you got a thread on here with the install/pics. I would like to upgrade at some point,
and ive got some SPL dynamics 6.5 components to use
Thanks

Thanks
yeah they look exactly like mine, and mines a 53 plate... correct shape on both sides and got the fitment hole on the drivers side.
not sure about the cupholders as you say - if thats out a zed i havent found where it is yet!
Thanks
I'm in Essex so if they go cheap ill probably get them.
The cup holders must just fit in the centre console, although the Bluetooth module is there so probably not a good idea.
I do know my recent coffee purchase ended in half of it spilling down the radio,
-
Saw this advert online, i could do with all in the advert
I'm not not sure about the cup holder bit, as far as i know there's only a front holder?
It doesn't mention the year it will fit either
anyone tell by the ad whether it will fit my 04 plate
cheers

Sounds like a bodge installation job. If cables are melted to the zorst that's where your problem lies I'm afraid you're going to have to jack it or reverse up onto a couple of planks or wood which might give you enough room to slide under. Good luck
The control unit is probably under the false floor in the boot, try and identify the manufacturer and see if you can get spare sensor cables
Great job!
Had a look this morning under the floor in the boot, discovered what can only be the control unit. Its a Nissan part with a connector plug on top.
Bit of a noob question but i wanted to remove the foam bracket which holds the jack and tools to trace the sensor cables. i have seen two plugs which hold it down, but do i need to remove any of the other trim as sliding it out is somewhat tricky.
Or do i need to be more forceful
Thanks

You only need to turn of airbags for rear facing child seats. I have my 7 year old boy in my Zed, with a booster seat and have no concerns over his safety.
Thanks
Have been told by a few people to turn off up to the age of twelve.
My concern is the risk of injury if they go off in a minor accident
When you say have no concerns over his safety, do you mean in the event of an accident and the airbag going off
or the strength/structure of the car itself. i don't mean for that question to sound rude
I'm still getting used to the car myself, (had a month) my boy has been in a rear car seat in a Saab 93 previous
Thanks

Hi all
I would like to know if anyone has thoughts advice on switching the front passenger Airbag off,
I have a young five year old, and under normal circumstances i wouldn't dream of owning a Zed, unless a second car.
but i only have my child twice a month, so 99% of time its only me driving.
i read on here somewhere about not being able to turn front passenger airbag off, and the only way was removing fuses, installing some sort off bypass switch.
I also read there's a weight sensor which in theory will not make air bag operational. that sounds ideal, but its not the sort of thing you can test
I'm a bit paranoid about the slightest bump setting it off, not worried if its only me.so ideally i would like to switch it off.
my zed is 04 year.
Cheers all

Great help as always, thanks
I will check all those out,
-
Are the surfaces all clean? not laered up with polish or something silly?
That's a good idea to check those too, I'll give them a clean with some detail spray and a cotton bud or something.

Thanks guys
im based in Chelmsford. don't mind going to Abbey

Hi
I was getting a puncture repaired last week on my passenger rear tyre, and whilst there asked the technician to look at the drivers rear tyre as i knew there was 0mm on the inside.
he said it looked like it was leaning. I'm hoping this is some sort of camber and needs checking adjusting.
ideally i would do this before buying new tyres?
I was also told the alignment is a specialist job, do i need to to Nissan
cheers all
Merry Xmas

Looking good mate - hats off to you for washing her when it's so blooming cold!
Its a dream to wash, especially after having a large four door Black saloon car!
It was windy but fairly mild, so i didn't mind
Any tips on adding good images, i had to reduce the size.
ive used Photobucket before, is that better
Cheers

Hi all
Its been almost two weeks since i bought the car, and although not the ideal time to start detailing (i would like too
) i've taken a few pics.
Mitt wash with AutoGlym Shampoo and Conditioner.
Dry with ASDA large green drying towel.
Quick spray with Autoglym Aqua wax.
Generally the paintwork is in exceptional condition, with only a little tar contamination on the lower part of the front wings and doors, so will be using some TRIX (Tar X and Iron X combo) followed by some nice Bilt Hamber clay.
Ive also got some Gtechniq P1 polish to go on, Wet Glaze 2.0, Farecla G3 Resin Superwax, and some Planet Polish Seal and Shine for the alloys.
Will get better pics when the suns out
bit blurry too sorry
Merry Christmas!

I bought a bottle of this:
http://www.cleanyour...h/prod_728.html
It works very well and I know I'll be using it every week before I wash the car now.
It's best to rinse off with a pressure washer rather than a hose, I'll get some before/after photo's next time
Good stuff
Its on my list for the car in the new year!
-
Sounds like a plan
Thanks!
-
Thanks
I'll take a look
I'm hoping in the mean time i can just unplug it to stop the noise
-
I've just realised this too.
If the lid is not closed properly, a bit of the light comes through, and i can see it in the corner of my eye
Thats how i found out!

My parking sensors are knackered, constant annoying beeping as soon as you put in reverse.
Was told by a mechanic at a recent check that the harness had melted to the exhaust. i didn't go into much detail about fixing it as the car was in for other stuff.
Can i access any of the wiring from the boot area, or would it need jacking up. Id rather not jack it up,as i don't have ramps or stands.and its on gravel.
I've seen some kits on Ebay for about £20.
Do you think i could do this my self.
Thanks
James

I think the falkens are in my budget at the moment
Thanks all
-
Yes i thought they were Hankook, although i couldn't see that branding on it.
The fronts are the same.
Fronts are Hankook Ventus K104 225/45y/R18
Rears are Hankook Ventus K104 245/45r/R18
didn't actually realise these were different sizes
Treads are about 5-6 mm
So best to match really all four really if i can get hold of them
Or these
http://www.blackcirc...0&tyre=19338151
Or Falkens bit cheaper, but then are mis-matched

Hi
sorry should of mentioned i've only had the car a week, and they seem ok to me but i've not driven it mad (yet). does feel rather bumpy on the roads but im putting it down to the fact its a sport car, but i would prefer s softer ride.
Yes £105 to me is a budget, so would i probably look at £150 mark?
safety is important for me two
Cheers

Hi all
I have these tyres on the car, and the two rear ones need replacing one has a nail and one has 0mm on the inner or outer edge cant remember at present.
Anyway, after going through the tyre thread on here it seems Toyo proxes t1r come up alot as a good all rounder. I usually paid about £110 ish on tyres on my previous cars.
What's the view on the Ventus, the techie at the garage who advised me on the condition of the two rear ones said they where budget, where as searching on internet says there high performance.
I have a receipt from when these tyres were put on back in September and they were £105
can i stick with these again or upgrade to the Toyo
Thanks

Hi
So i've had the car few days now, but wanted to take it down to my very nice local garage
for a health check which was free, and to hopefully sort the screeching belts and the Airbag sensor.
All sorted for a tidy £66 including the diagnostic fee.
1.The diagnostic check showed a fault O/S/F side Airbag, fault cleared by refitting the multi plug.
2. Fan belt adjusted, and now not screeching
The health check was a bit like a mini MOT and included lots of important checks, including a battery test. the sort of stuff i couldn't possibly check, so was peace of mind for me too.
OK, so a bit of advice on a few advisories which were brought to my attention (technician notes)
1.Rear parking sensor harness melted onto exhaust.
2.slight leakage around N/S steering rack boot
3.slight oil leak around oil filter housing, maybe residue from recent oil, filter change
4.Corrosion around the exhaust (ticked on the sheet as front, middle and rear silencer) and ticked as a visually ok
I thought the parking sensor was quite high pitched when reversing, and also the beeps start straight away even when no where near anything so does sound knackered. is this an expensive fix?
The car had MOT and service in September, so may explain oil residue.
I need two rear tyres as one has a nail, and one is bald on the outside, so ill get both done.
Think that's all
Will post pics soon too, when i've detailed it properly.

You need to burn the CD as an audio CD rather than a data CD.
The authoring software will automatically save to disk in the correct format.
I use Nero myself but Google "Free audio CD burner" and you should hit some free software from DVDVideoSoft that works fine
Hi
I selected audio format (default) i've attached an image if it shows up
Thanks
think i have Nero too
Stinger Wiring in engine bay
in I.C.E & Electronics
Posted
Hi all
I have about four lengths of what looks like 8 AWG Stinger ground wire in the engine bay.
I will take a pic and post it up, basically im trying to confirm whether its OEM or has been added after, so i can let insurance know.
If it was intended for an ICE install, or a performance mod i would of expected bigger wire to have been used?
Thanks
