  2. Hi all

Just did a quick search on the internet about cars failing there MOT because of the LED bulbs or the colour of them.

Anyone have a view on this, i've just put white LED sidelight bulbs in, and just bought a pair for the number plate

I won't bother if its going to be a hassle.

    Cheers

  3. :welcome:

Bought mine for just under £6

    04 UK GT

    Brembos

    Heated Leather

Think Black always seems more expensive.

I get 26 MPG driving sensibly

What mileage did it have ?

    Thanks

High but i went on the fact it had 99% Nissan service history, very good paint work.

To be honest it wasn't the easiest buy, and i took a risk buying it.

The sales guy didn't even come out with me to look at the car, it was like here's the keys help yourself. not unpleasant sale just i knew more about the car than he did.

But all the paperwork was there HPI, MOT history, and a load of receipts etc.

    So far i'm happy.

  4. Hi

Have just done my led sidelight upgrade and I did not have to remove any bolts to do it?/ Just 3 pop in plastic clips and 1 phillips screw which gave me easy access by just moving front shield from under rear shield and bending to one side..lots of room. The hardest part was putting back the sidelight with led as it is longer than a bulb and the wiring is not over generous on length..but managed it. Light is really bright..Great..Also re-greased seals to main/headlight bulb access cover whilst under there!

    JohnUKVetteNut

Glad you managed it, yes the led is longer, quite fiddly to twist and pull them in and out.

    No cut fingers though,

  5. I had this problem i just ragged the plastic liner off and put new clamps in when i re fitted it think alex sells replacement liners aswell if there shagged

Will have to do that i reckon, might be able to get them off by holding the clip with pliers and trying to remove.

Cable ties is an option to secure.

  6. Just replaced my sidelights for LED, as one had blown.

It was quite fiddly but my main issue was the 2 bolts joining the bumper to the wheel arch liner were corroded and stuck to the clips which then just span round.

One side actually only had one bolt, as the other was missing as part of the wheel liner missing, so a bit of a mess underneath but not bad enough any of it to be loose.

maybe this is common due to age, i've sprayed WD on the bolts, and will probably try and replace the ones i can.

I have not tried removing the other bolts under the bumper, but i have a feeling they might be a bugger to get off.

Anyone else had this issue, as i need to get bumper off at some point to fit my new mesh

    Cheers

  7. Hi all

Last couple of days the car has developed a different sound to usual.

The best way to describe is a pulsating droning noise, bit like a pneumatic drill.

I've only noticed in the cabin, and not under the hood.

Well thats the weirdest description ever

    Blowing exhaust maybe?

  8. They will be fine, however you can get the same thing from ebay for a few £ :)

    Thanks

Was just a bit concerned about going the ebay route rather than Autobulbs as recommended.

Theres a huge selection on there though too

    Will take a chance

  9. Most people go for the LED ones now, they look more modern, give a better light, and match the xenons quite well.

    Have a read here http://www.350z-uk.c...__hl__sidelight

Don't go for ebay ones as they tend not to last as long as the ones from Autobulbs direct. The links I posted can be found on that post.

    Thanks

I found the thread, but from a google search. when searching on here via the search box i find nothing, even using enclosed quotes.

    Am i doing something daft,

Anyway think i've found what i need then

  10. Hi

One of my side light bulbs has gone, so was looking at a few posts on here regarding changing them for uprated but im not worried about getting anything flash like led's unless they're worth it.

If i wanted a straight OEM swap whats the part number, is it 501 something

came across the below link for a pair of Philips xenon ones, but the info is a bit baffling with too much options

    http://www.care4car....ight_Bulbs.html

Mentions these will match the xenons i already have, but i don't know what i have apart from there xenons

Just going through the manual now

    Any help appreciated

  11. As I'm sure a lot of people did, i took the opportunity in yesterdays lovely weather to give the Zed a quick clean.

Just a wash with Megs NXT Shampoo and a quick polish with Megs Cleaner Wax, which is preferred choice if I'm only doing one quick go over. It really surprises me how good it is for the price and ease of use. Through the winter I'd been lazy and used the local Polish hand car wash so the car was covered in swirls.

    But swirls no more -

    Beautiful reflections
