  2. Can you advise how much the tickets are please and is it necessary to book early? Thanks.
  3. VMW in Frampton Cotterell service our Honda and are great. I asked when we bought the Z if they could service it and was informed they could and they already look a couple of other Z's. To be fair I have yet to take ours there but will do for service / repairs etc.

    Commuter car

Honda Accord 2.2 ctdi Ideally exec because of nice alloys. Comfy, reliable and go well.
  5. At the moment averaging about 26 -27 mpg at an average 28mph. Drive it generally fairly steady with a bit of tickle when conditions allow. Not to bad considering how well they go imo.
  6. Hello Choptop, Many thanks for the comment, I didn't disconnect the battery or do a reset, I just moved the glass by loosening the bolts, nipped them up and then shut the door to see how it looked (the glass closed a further few mm when door was closed) If i wasn't happy, opened the door, moved glass again etc until when the door is closed the glass moves up and makes a good seal. Cheers Mike
  7. Hello all, Thanks to all those who have posted info on this site, after reading how to remove door panel I thought I would have a go and post some pics. I had wind noise and leaks from driver door glass, it wasn't sealing against rubber seal at the front edge and also the glass wasn't leaning in enough. I adjusted the glass by loosening the two bolts that hold the glass and relocating the glass a few mm further forward and a few mm higher. I tried to also adjust the angle of the glass by adjusting the lock nuts/ slotted screw which I think is meant to change the angle but I couldn't get it to make any difference. (any comments or help on this gratefully received) In summary I have moved the glass to provide a better seal and up to 70mph it now has no wind noise. This is my attempt and I am certainly no expert so my advice is here purely as help and I cannot be responsible if everything I say is pants and your door falls off after following this guide. Or anything else go wrong, generally. How it should be (passenger side) How it shouldn't be (drivers side) £15 from Amamzon for main black pack with red tools, £2 for small tool on the right. Lift up rear part (right as you look) first, then gently pry edges and it should pop up. Release clips that hold switches. I suppose you could just leave switches in cover and remove white connector only if you prefer. Push on small white square which is fairly central on side of block to release.(below blue wire ) Undo two bolts, note they are different so replace them as they came out. Spring this cover off. There should be another bolt in there, mine was missing, also, you don't need to remove the grommet (doh) Release door clips around panel, I used "Y" shaped tool to leaver plastic clip from door. Showing more clips for FYI Lift panel up when all un-clipped and disconnect grey connector block, I had to lie on my back to see release tab Release door lock cable, pull white plastic part out of metal bracket and un-hook cable. Same again for second cable. Panel now removed. I think this is the window reset switch, was covered by sticky pad. As my windows weren't going up only to drop back down an inch or so I didn't touch this switch. There are two bolts like this that hold the glass, I drew around the washers of both so I could see how far and in which direction the glass had moved, I moved in about 3mm forward and 3mm up and that seems to have done the trick. Sorry no pics of final job, better but still not perfect, If I can work out about angling glass I will post some more pics. Cheers Mike
  8. Hello Robd Did you ever ger your satnav voice working through car speakers via new head unit? I have same issue would really appreciate any info you may have. Thanks in advance. Mike
  9. Brilliant guide, thanks a million. I have been searches for ages for such a guide and you also explained a way to have a new HU installed but not lose the factory sat nav voice. It's unlikely I would attempt this install myself (but am tempted based on your thorough descriptions) but at least I can really appreciate what's involved and can now chat to an installer with a good background insight. You sir, are a gent. Cheers and thanks again. Mike
  10. Thanks with the photo bucket help, will take a few more pics when weather cheers up (2013?) and post them up. Cheers Mike
  11. Hello Spursmadave, Thanks for the very quick reply. The main prob with new head unit with built in nav is it costs two or three times the price of a non nav unit. Bit of a pain when i like the birds eye view presently installed. I will research again and look for wiring diagrams. I plan to get installation done proffesionally (don`t fancy the inevitable fire if I did it) so I'm not sure if i pro would cut into harnesses / solder new wires etc. All I really want is existing nav, great quality cd/mp3, and to get the people at Nissan / Bose who thought this stereo was good idea in room so I can poke knitting needles in their ears Kind regards. Mike d
  12. Great post thanks but after reading all the threads and doing various searches I'm still unsure as to whether the existing built in sat nav voice would still work with a new head unit, any help or advice gratefully received. Cheers Mike
  13. Hopefully this will work to the forum use photobucket to host your pictures. You will find a guide on how to in the forum help. Its free to use photobucket and displays the picture here much better like this for instance Looks stunning, that will be your pride and joy then? Will read up on PB and try posting some better pics. Thanks for all the help. Right, PB account opened, notes on "how to read", lets see how this goes.

  17. Hello all, My wife and I have just purchased a 350z Roadster for a week end car. I wanted to post to say thanks to all the people here who have, and are, taking the time to run the site and to all those who post so much useful information. I now know that its not just my bose system that sounds terrible, that I probably need to do a window reset, which tyres to buy next etc. The list goes on regarding the insight you all have given me which means its easier to fix / sort things generally. All this adds up to a more pleasurable experience which is what we bought the car for. So thanks to you all. Cheers Mike Ps sorry about the username, the z has "LOV" in the number plate so the wife has named it "Lovie". You can't win them all.....
