  1. I've bowed to the knowledge and demonstration of snow foam by the ilogikal1 and taken delivery of a lance plus auto finesse avalanche foam today. See how it goes but predictably the local forecast is showing rain all weekend :surrender:

S*d it. I'd probably still wash it even if it is raining.

As long as it's not too bad obviously. Don't want to look too mental.;)

Sad as I am I've been looking at the hour by hour forecast and there's a couple of dry hours I can fit it in

One way or another I'm giving the gun a go this weekend and I believe the neighbours think I'm mental cleaning my car every week anyway :teeth:

That's you and me both then.;)

Always get the "you'll polish the paint off you know?!"

    Followed by my

    "This is wax mate"

  2. I've read somewhere in a manual for a washer years ago to always pressure wash at an angle or dirt can be forced into the paint, but I've never known of it actually damaging paint work.

As for the foam lance, I got a karcher washer and lance over Christmas with karchers own brand foam solution, I tried that combo once!

Now using karcher washer, the famous 'eBay lance' and angel wax fastfoam (ATM)

FYI stay away from karchers own foam solution, it's very chalky and doesn't smell very pleasant.

  3. The cobra IMO gives a deeper louder note from it's 3" bore as compared to the scorpion's 2.5", plus I love how the cobra mid pipe enters the centre of the back box. Pretty sure the scorpion is like the standard setup coming in from the side of the box.

Probably in my head but the Cobra's symmetrical back box seems better, I can imagine the gas flow in the box to be more evenly sided

  4. That's the video I used when I did mine, but it really is straight forward.

I think the brace between the cats is 4 bolts

Manifold to cat 3 bolts each side

Cat to y-pipe 2 bolts each side

And obviously the sensor on each side, in the video they have a special socket with a slit for the cable but what I did was just unplug the sensor on the loom side and feed the cable through the right size ring spanner and that works just as well.

I use the word bolts lightly as well, standard set up is a threaded stud and nut combo

For that awkward one, like the video I used a combination of 1/2" extentions (will need to remove the intakes for this)

Plus gas helps and I managed to do it all on my drive on axle stands

Watch the video a couple of times and get familiar with the proceedure, can do it in a few hours but take your time as rounding a bolt gets emotional

  5. The river festival this year is 19-20 July and I was wondering if anyone local, or further, would be up for a mini meet on Sunday 20th.

I won't suggest trying to get a stand or even piggy backing a garage for example as they are a few hundred pounds for the smallest ones and the cars would have to be in position before 9am and stay until 9pm.

Maybe a late afternoon meet near the festival, for a chat, some photos and then after people could either head home or head into the festival for all the festivities - there's fireworks!

There are many ways this could work, opinions, ideas, whether you're up for it or not, banter; is all welcome. Let's hear what you think!

  6. R9h-rx - funny you should reply I litterally just voted for your car for April an hour ago ha

Parello9 - I know! One day it will happen and we'll seem like the happiest people ever!

    Cal - added

  7. Love it or hate it, who's active on it? Always good to spot a UK car on there, the #350z tag is a wash of US cars and there only seems to be a handful of us on the #350zuk tag.

My handle is Lewisbowse for those on it...

  8. So what's people thoughts on the current box, got to say personally this ones not very good IMO. Wax aside, the tyre shine isn't shiny and the shampoo isn't foamy enough :(

I think it's quite good, the MistX works really well! The Wheel cleaner from autobrite is good, foams up really nicely but did take my HubiRims wax off :( I found the glimmermann trim and tire stuff really glossy on my tires! Like beyond anything I've used before, Rich did comment on one of my pictures saying (along the lines of) that there has been a vast variation of results for it though. That's all I've used so far, saving the desire and window seal for Wales...
