I'd have loved it to have been a V8 or a V6 - cant get those for less than £30-70k It's a Ford Kent (crossflow) 1600 with 40 Webbers and fast-road cam. Only about 28 of these TVRs left in the world...

It's amazing how quickly my car sold once it went to Trade Link! Took it in on Friday. Thought I'd just have a look this evening, and boom "sold"! Whoever got it has a total bargain! Hope it went to a good enthusiast home... Onwards with the TVR! My new whip - TVR Vixen S3 (1971) Disclosure: This isn't my actual car (its currently in a couple of bits as its having a new suspension and wishbones) but its the same type and colour. I'll miss the Zed, but I needed something new and a bit different...

Although they had to withdraw their original price (Greg thought it was a GT and it wasn't...but only discovered it 10 minutes before I arrived!!) I flew to Holland to look at my TVR. Flew back to pick it up... Zed is now going to Trade Link tomorrow (Thursday 17 April) AM. Pending successful completion, the car is now "Under Offer".

Any feedback on why it's not selling? Lowered the price significantly - I need a buyer who understands the value of an HR engine!

This year I took part in an "eco" study for the University for which I work. Averaged 27.9mpg over 9,000 miles between April and September this year. Which included three track days, visits to my friends across country and a driving holiday to Cornwall in Summer. Considering I've owner the car for just under two years, done about 20,000 miles and never take it on short journeys (i.e. around town or less than 30mins drive) I don't think that's too bad! It does help to have good tyres, nitro inflation, regular maintenance and the controversial "only shell v-power" fill ups. So happy with the car's MPG. Really, really good GT car.

Car will be moved to Essex on 20 December for winter/dry storage, viewings available from 28 December.

My major worry with any car sale has always been the counting of the cash, and whether it's real. I'm not gonna go out and buy a money counter or UV scanner - I'd much rather have a BACS or CHAPS payment into my account and save physical hassle for items under £2k. How do the cash sellers check they're not fake notes, just out of interest?

Having driving a '47 MG TC with a brand new 'box that makes loads of noises, but is apparently fine. I'd say if you don't like a noise from a gut feeling then steer away, but otherwise as long as the gears are engaging and not grinding and you're comfortable it's fine. **Shameless plug** Mine's for sale if you fancy a drive.

well to give the future a reference... I'm actually looking at a custom (for me) built 240Z by one of the datsun specialists. It would have all the mod cons, plus be tax free and historic insurance...plus its a 240Z so its basically a sleeper trackday toy/GT car. 2.9L S30 engine, (250bhp at the wheels) LSD, half-cage, looking at a six-speed 'box, ... list goes on... It's the bloody VED that kills the 350Z for me. That's a pair or rear tyres/fuel/service parts etc

Took a day off from work today to go to Beaulieu with my buddy. (I was going down from Cardiff and him across from Guilford in his Caterham) The drive down and the drive back (244miles) was epic, not because of the scenery or the road, just the car. it made the trip effortless, even bumped into the BBC boys doing their shots for their new article on the removal of tax discs (http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-25246378) they loved the Zed and showed interest... When I told the presenter I was looking to sell, he perked up and asked how much. I said the asking price, to which he said "that's a hellofa lotta car for that price!" Now, that reaction, plus my experience driving the car today just makes we want to keep the car, unresign from my current job, unlet my flat and tell my new employers I can't come and start work because "I love my car too much to care about advancing my career". I also had some interest today via ebay and I almost emailed back and said "I DONT WANNA SELL!!" This is madness. Please tell me there's a cure for this!? I also just realised this looks like a plug for my listing...and it isn't! I secretly hope it takes a little while longer to sell!

I've got something rather special in mind to replace her... and it would have to be something special. Also this is the cheapest HR model going on ebay and other car sales websites... given its FNSH and its only ever been run on Shell V-Power someone is going to be the bargain of the year (or new year)...

HR engines are taller - dare say that's why it fits very snuggly!

rev matching is good for the drivetrain - I have to do it with the '47 MG and its so satisfying to get right, plus it saves gear wear.
