Not too bad mate...took more like 2 hours to get it off and on again...couple of dodgy bolts on the undertray!! Wonder what would cause the bottle to crack like that...the action of the liquid inside freezing perhaps? Anyway...much more confidant of messing with old girl now and once this is fixed it will be time to take the door trim off to try the electric window reset fix lol Sprax

Thought I'd update you on my washer bottle episode! I took the front bumper off today...bit fiddly but nothing major... then found that one of the feeder bungs had broken and the tube to the headlamp washers was hanging off so problem identified I thought... ...but then I noticed a huge crack in the washer bottle too So bumper back on and wait for the parts...Alex PM on the way!! The only bit that concerns me is the headlamp washers...*NOOB ALERT*...I presume I have em cos there is a switch inside but where they would be is just a blank plate...do they pop out upon operation? I found this useful thread viewtopic.php?f=9&t=50186&hilit=front+bumper+removal ...which deals with them but in that video there is no mention! Its a 2005 GT coupe. Thought all these little problems would really annoy me...but tbh it's just making me love the car even more Sprax

Just went to fill my washer bottle as it was empty...every drop of water and screen cleaner I attempted to put in ended up on my drive!! Just done a search and the only suggestion I can find is removal of the front bumper to see what the prob is I'm not particularly confident messing with such things..are there any other suggestions/ideas? Yours in hope Sprax

Grease applied to rubber stoppers...problem solved!! Ty Sprax

This is happening to mine too and thought it was the strut brace cover as it squeaked when I applied pressure. Think I will try the boot stopper fix first before fiddling with the cover! Sprax

Well it's another beautiful day and even better I picked up my Zed!! Just taken her for a good spin and the smile is still on my face!! She is a 2005 GT coupe with 47k on the clock...couple of little issues...the drivers window keeps dropping slightly and I get wind noise...zap it up with the switch, 10 mins later it needs doing again...known issue? Anyway, I don't care cos it is a lovely car, I have already forgotten my wife's name as she has been replaced in my heart Here's the one piccy so far:

Hi Guys Was just wondering...what does the standard alarm on a 2005 GT coupe consist of? Does it have an engine immobilising aspect to it for example. Also does it rate as similar or equal to a Thatcham approved system? Thanks in advance!! Sprax Edit Just done some reading and it appears the 'Thatcham approved' system is a grading scale for the type of system fitted.

Ty guys..got to say all this tyre size calculations is starting to hurt my head..and is actually really putting me off this car...although it does come with the original wheels and tyres so may have the dealer put them on and sell these 19" so and so's, or at least give me time to get my head around it all...I think I have broken the search function over the last 3 hrs and still feel no further forward!

Anybody know the gent that runs Midwest Performance in Dudley, West Mids? Seems to specialise in Zeds. Hopefully going tomorrow to look at another car!

Do I take it a sponge is not a done thing? What would be the cleaning item of choice then?? As a soon-to-be Zed owner this would be a useful thing to know...I was just thinking of slinging it through my local car wash...I believe those whirling things are good for the paintwork

Hi guys, Thankyou so much for all your welcomes and advice on my first post As I said I went to see the car today. The one issue that was bought up was Jak and Attakz both thought the tyre sizes looked a little off, so as promised I have the details: Rear - 265/30/ZR19 Front - 235/35/ZR19 Both front and rear are Falken tyres. Overall the car was ok...not as unblemished as the advert stated...stone chips on bonnet and front bumper (expected), but also extending down both wings. there had also been some paintwork done on the ledge under the front grill with (my pet hate) overspray!! She drove nicely, no weird noises, tho I would like to give her a more extensive drive...but, and in my mind the biggest no-no, on my arrival the battery was flat...this leads me to doubt the dealer who kmew damn well I was coming!! Anyway maybe I'm being picky but as an (don't shoot me) x-Nissan car salesman those little things point towards the general attitude of the seller! I got him to copy the service history for me and will be phoning the dealers tomorrow to check on those...and he gave me a decent price for my part-x and showed a willingness to move on the screen price also...so win-win Anyway..looking for some advice on the above and ty in advance!!

What sizes shud i be looking/avoiding for?

Thats great ty guys..one more thought..I'm 6 ft 4...going to Manchester to see this tomorrow..just hoping I don't get in and have my head brushing the roof? As for running costs I have looked into that and although it will probably double my current running costs I am braced for that...afterall I'm not buying it for it's frugal nature!!
