Nah, sounds way too synthetic.

I used to live in Hastings and still drive there a lot at weekends. Reading this left a chill down my spine - felt like reading my own obituary to an extent. Glad to hear you're on the mend...

The Cobra CBE fits the Mk1 Nismo perfectly and sounds great with the standard cats. Replacing the latter with Berk HFCs will make it very loud and raspy and give some drone at 70mph in 6th, so apply with caution. I have this set up and the tailpipe thunder offsets the drone issue for me, it sounds properly violent!
General consensus is that the ARK Grip is pretty good but beware lowering springs. The Invidia and Milteks are quieter but better for low motorway drone. Apparently the Cobra HFCs are louder than the Berks so that might be a problem.
If you can afford it (I can't) get Motordyne from intake to tailpipe. Best sounding gear out there IMHO.

Jerrick, the Motons look like titanium rather than steel? Would make sense from a motorsport / weight saving perspective and explain the price...

Pretty simple job afaik. The cobra fits the nismo rear diffuser perfectly btw and sounds epic. Add berk HFCs for serious noise!

Nice to see them base it on the MkI nismo! TBF that model has been on sale stateside since 2009 IIRC? So its probs the more familier model. 175kg is big weight loss but still renders it 1350kg i.e. not much less than a boggo cayman s. Rebuilding every 5k seems like madness but maybe that's due to the constant redline stress it is always under?

Other differences aside from the detuned suspension are that the MkII has lower NVH with active sound neutralisers, wheel arch liners and softer engine mounts. The aero is more balanced than the MkI and generates another 5-10kg of DF. Despite the nicer interior with darker plastic and recaros, everyone complains about how uncomfortable they are. However the car just looks like a mess, none of the Nismo design language from the homologation specials like the 380z RS or 370z RC. And once you've ripped the ghey exhaust off and put some hi-flow cats on you wont give a monkeys about the nvh!

Couldn't figure out why these bolts were covered in wax when i bought it and now i know, these have become very rusty a short space of time. Anyone have the same problem? Want to replace them as they look horrid now.

Airbag looms can be an expensive nightmare, few breakers will sell components seperately.

Apparently the MkII has improved mounts to reduce NVH over 5000rpm, has anyone made this change to a MkI? Cost/benefit input would be welcome.

Would be tragic not to rip the stock exhaust / peace pipe of and stick a cobra on it. Add decats for extra fizz

Intake cash would better be spent on tyres or coilovers, no?

At least people aren't calling them "pop chargers" any more :-/

Oh and another really obvious complaint: viscous rather than mechanical LSD. Just not the same experience.

Like: reliability - and when something does let go its hundreds rather than thousands. Means I get to enjoy the redline without worrying
Dislike: people confusing a GT for a sports car. Oh and the tyre noise on potenzas is dreadful. Better engine mounts would be nice too.

Amazed a car with such low mileage could be so dirty in the first place. Wouldnt the original tyres be a bit dangerous given that its 15 years old now? Nice motor all the same, console yourself that the 182 Trophy is still only £6k not £36k!

Put it this way, if you buy a 911/987 and don't like them, you'll be able to sell them on again quicker than anything else mentioned here. Six months, tick the box then move on to something else with minimal capital loss.
