  1. Japfest 2016 - South East Convoy - Sunday 24th April

    1. Arrive at Newbury services (J13 M4 West bound) at 5:45 am for a 6.00am departure.

    2. Hours drive to Silverstone via A34

Yes its early but its essential to beat the traffic with this being the largest Japanese car show in Europe. We also have to be at the stands location before 08:30 or we will not be allowed in.

Other stops can be added if there is enough interest. Also let me know where you plan to join us so we know numbers on the day :)

    Cheers,

    Adam

  2. Love the Cayman S 981, in my opinion the best looking Porsche ever .

Ditto. I was so close to buying one until I started to read the horror stories.

Horror stories? Isn't that with the old 987 one.

I believe so ...... The new shape is the one I really hanker for ! Such a lovely car .

So many optional extras though. Buying second hand is going to be a nightmare!

So after a few months of BMW ownership, do you miss anything about the Z?

  4. My budget is slightly more but I have a problem where I need a 2012+ car for work reasons. With that said I went to see the below last weekend:

    981 Cayman S

    E92 M3

    Mustang V8

    Evora S

The Cayman was the best all rounder by far and probably what I will get come summer but of course its the most expensive...

The 2012+ Boxster might fall into your budget now? Brilliant car.

  5. Thanks for the reply, follow you on IG and love the 370z!

Thanks buddy. If you need any advice let me know.

I run stock camber arms and can get just within the factory tolerances. Its -1.5 on the front and -2.0 on the back if I remember rightly.

  6. Ah I see, had no idea where you were based. I have to admit I was very impressed with the look of the 'stang. Prettier in the metal than photos and it is hardly un-photogenic anyway. Nice purchase, have to admit have always fancied a mustang but funds for me definitely don't allow. Maybe when prices come down a few years down the line. Do we think this could be a sensible family car option? ;)

It has a huge boot and relatively large rear seats so yeah, why not ;)

  7. 350s seem to have bottomed out at £5000 for a decent well looked after example ... my opinion is that eventually 350s will be worth more than 370s and the the GT4 will be the cream of the crop ... I'd buy a black one tomorrow if the right vehicle blame available, and that would be purely as an investment ... the latest Nismo 370 is also desirable in my book but is still too new to provide an investment opportunity ...

    ... yet

This is an interesting opinion. What makes you think that 50s will be worth more than 70s? There is still a good 5k difference between them and the 70s have now stopped depreciating as the 50s have hit there bottom.

Not arguing just interested to understand your thoughts :)

  8. Update from Japfest today with full club list, there are 113 of us in total! Please see the attached file for the list.

"Your tickets and passes will be emailed directly to you around two weeks prior to the show. The tickets and passes will all be individually created to be printed at home.

Full details of opening times, entry routes and club information will be sent out alongside the tickets and passes, but should you have any immediate questions at this point please do not hesitate to contact us."

  9. I want it, just got to work out the best way of doing it and I won't be rushed into it by the dealer. Still worth driving the RS too if I get the chance.

Seriously, drive the RS, Golf R and M135i as well before making any decision - at the least youll be able to tell people how good/bad they are and Ive no doubt you'll enjoy them all :)

Already drove the Golf, brilliant car but the understated look's are way to boring for my liking, I'd never be happy with it unless modifying and that would be defeating the point. The RS is a serious contender now, I'll see how I feel after driving one in april. The year long waiting list is a bit of a headache but I'd wait if it was going to be worth it.

I'm with you on the golf just can't get past how meh it looked

Exactly the same problem with the 135i, very capable car but very yawn

  10. Right so the bad news first, we are no longer the largest club stand. The common Evo lot has overtaken us :(

The good news is I hope the below confirms everyone's queries.

Your tickets and vehicle passes will be sent out to you no later than two weeks before the event. This also includes track time and all the forms necessary to get out on track.

Anyone going out on track will need to bring both parts of their driving license. So this is the photo card and the paper form which is now delivered on demand via the DVLA website.

Lot of messing about with work but finally managed to get this Sunday off. I know the deadline has passed but I follow the link enter the password etc and it will still let me buy a ticket.

Just hoping someone can clarify if I buy this is it a stand with you guys or would I end up in a general admission car park outside etc?

(First time big event attend so apologies if it seems like a daft question)

The deadline for club tickets has now passed so you will be in the public car park unfortunately.

Just pointing out the admission time to the Japfest event/stands starts from 6.30 am (Castle Combe for example it used to be 6am)

don't know what is the latest you can arrive to our stand...370ad will probably cast some light on this over the coming days

Apologies if it is already stated somewhere, but what time do the stand cars have to be at the event? Just realised I am doing something on the Saturday night, so it's going to be an early start! :(

There will be a time that you need to attend the stand by I believe this is 06:30 to 08:30 but it will be confirmed in your stand information pack.
