Recently purchased the Z and it came with the Kenwood DNX5220BT HU.

When slowing down/stopping for traffic lights the volume is reduced.

This is quiet annoying, i have gone through all the menu options and can't seem to find anything on it.

Is this something the Z does as standard and cant be changed?

The last week and a half with the cold temps I've been able to manage around extra 30 miles to the usual £50 of 97 Ron I stick in my tank, I usually only manage 110 miles max from a £50 fill up, that's with all around town driving, think my odo trip was at 152 mils with around 20 odd left on the DTE indicator, could the cold air give better induction causing better MPG???

You get 110 miles from £50!

That's crazy, and like 14 mpg!

Also - check if you are running the menus in "Expert Mode" and not "Short Menus" (Not sure if that HIDES the more advanced stuff!)

Just checked, i only have a colour option too

You must be able to turn it off!

It depends on the model (..and version for your MY); You can either go into Settings, Display Settings - and choose "Display OFF" in the menus;

 

..or press and hold the screen brightness button (the one with the sun / moon) on it.
