  1. Hi all.

Seems that Cougarworks is the "no-brainer" go-to place for fettling a Z. Unfortunately they are heavily booked at the moment.

I need someone to look at why my power steering fluid is leaking - I've had a quick look myself and it doesn't seem - as I'd hoped - that it's just a perished hose or jubilee clip that needs tightening. More likely the actual cooler (this was suggested by Cougarworks by email). I'd like to confirm this before ordering the part and the work. I live in Loughborough, and used to quite happily use Hoyle and Robbins on a range of previous cars. Any reason not to do so for this one? I guess it's a simple diagnosis for a competent mechanic...? Or (not being sarcastic here) is there something particularly special and magical about how to look at the steering rack and cooler on a 350Z?

Any specific recommendations for a garage will be welcome. Willing to travel within reason!

    Thanks

    Kenny

I would either take a local recommendation from Mitz or travel down south to see Horsham near Newbury :)

  2. Just a quick one- i've got a club stand ticket for me and my car. Found a mate who wants to come as my passenger, is it just a regular show entry ticket he needs to come in with me as my passenger?

passengers have to pay for Japfest as well although you have a stand ticket

yeah so they just need to buy a normal entry ticket then to come with me? I thought this would be the case I just wanted to check because i've got club stand ticket! Thanks

    Yeah buddy thats correct :)

  3. As my car still hasn't gone to the Body shop it's looking highly unlikely I will be attending the show.

So I have some bargains for any one going or thinking of going to Silverstone.

1.Holiday inn Northampton 23 April check in,paid £59 £40 sold subject to payment

    2.entry ticket paid £20 £15 sold subject to,payment

    3.Tracktime F advanced10.40am paid £35. £20

    4.Tracktime L intermed 12.20. £20 sold subject to payment

    5.tracktime Q intermed 14.20. £20 sold subject to payment

Will pm those who have reserved the above with my PayPal details.

As we all know how crap the organisers are at getting tickets out for this show Buster has kindly said he will take the track tickets with him and dish them out if I don't get them early enough to post.

With regards to the hotel booking I will email the booking reference and invoice on receipt of payment.

Thanks guys for all your kind words and fingers crossed the Siver Pheonix will make her first appearance at the Banzia Japday show at Castle Combe.

They are e tickets mate so can just be forwarded once you receive them from Japfest via email :)

I will pay for mine first thing. Hope you can take up the offer of a lift to Japfest so we catch up still

  4. Does anyone know what the layout might be like? I am wondering where we will be camping and where the cars will be parked etc.

Ive got three mates coming to japfest aswell but they don't have 350z/370z (they have japanese cars) so was just wondering if they could park somewhere near us because we are all camping

It looks like camping is separate to the club stands:

  5. Just back from getting the alignment done after installing the springs. A few owners on here fit springs without camber arms, so I went with that to see how it came out. The camber is maxed out at 2 rear and 1.5 fronts, with all other adjustments correctly setup. They are all in tolerance, just barely, so will run like this for now and if needed in the future will reduce some of the camber with arms. But it drives nicely ATM so not toooo bothered, as long as I don't chew through too many tyres.

Had an amusing conversation with the guy once he had completed the alignment -

Guy - 'Have you lowered this?'

Me - 'Yes, had springs fitted earlier this week'

Guy - 'Yeah, you've broken it....'

 He didn't like the lack of adjustment on the rear hehe.

Same spec as mine mate and I got 15k out of my Potenza's

  6. Just a quick question guys

(sorry if its already been asked, haven't been on for a while.)

I am on the stand but may need to leave early afternoon for work.. (if they need me.. i pray to the nissan gods that they don't)

    Is that an issue?

    Stu

We are always told we have to wait till the show is over but during the day I see loads of people leaving.

This is the first time its at Silverstone though so its hard to judge, sorry!

  7. Got both the air con and alternator belt sat here waiting to be fitted, it's going in to the garage tomorrow, they just charged me £80 for oil and filter change which I find a little steep, a little worried they might give me a daft price for the belts.

Am I right in thinking it should be no more than £50 to fit them?

I thought things were cheap up north! Horsham do a whole P1 for £99.

  8. Had a couple of guys post on the Z Club today that they have had an email from Japfest saying that they do not actually have the track sessions that they ordered even though it shows on the Japfest 2016 - Z Club.pdf 230.44K that they have got track time

Dont have any more info at the minute so please don't shoot the messenger just maybe worth checking if you have track time

I also had already phoned them this morning asking about tickets and they said they were behind but would be posted out this week

Well this is interesting....I appreciate you keeping us updated. I have not received my tickets via email yet but when I do I will double check them.

To anyone who receives their tickets this week and they are not as ordered, please call Japfest directly to sort it out as I do not have access to your details this year.

When I phoned them yesterday and was told tickets were being posted I then I asked were they not going to be emailed and we print them off and was told that was never an option

But heyho maybe my brain is getting old and I was confusing Japfest with the Donnington Historic meet

You are definitely not going crazy my friend...

  10. Adam,

i always took South east to be to kent and east sussex including south east london, so anyone coming from that side of the country, the M4 location would add at least an hour and half onto any journey to SS.

from where i am, its just shy of 2 hours to silverstone,

perhaps there needs to be a "south east of london" and "south west of London" routes....

Good idea, I will edit this convoy for West of London guys, feel free to create a thread for East of London :)

  11. Adam,

coming from the South east (as i do) , it seems a bit counter intuative to head out on the M4 to j13.

i would have though a more logical meeting place would either be South MImms (north side of M25, 1 hour 15 mins to SS), Toddington (M1, 55 mins to SS) or Newport Pagnell (also M1, 30 mins to SS)

    Paul

Just checked the locations mentioned and they would add an hour for anyone coming from Hampshire/Berkshire unfortunately. For Cobham to Silverstone its 1h30 and Cobham to Silverstone via M4 is 1h50.

It might not work this year with the change of location but thought it would be good to get some form of convoy for S.E lot. Maybe we can do two separate ones if that works better for the London ladies/gents?!
