  1. I popped into Tarmac Sportz on Friday and got some EBC dimpled and grooved discs with Yellow Stuff pads.

Some pics below so you can see how they look. I know some people aren't fond of dimpled/drilled discs, but I think they look great and I don't do track days, so I won't be pushing them to their limit.

Bob at @Tarmac@TarmacSportz was brilliant and took really good care of me and my Z. I'd highly recommend them.

    Looks great

For those that dont want to do it I've spoken to rich at rsv and although they dont offer this anymore hes happy to do a few sets on the side I'm probably going to get mine done soon

Any chance there's a group price that he'll be willing to do them for if we get enough interest?

  3. Has anyone used MTEC discs & Mintex pads before on their 370z?

I have included the links below and was hoping someone might have gone with this set up on their Z before and can given a decent recommendation on whether to go with them or not.

I am leaning towards drilled and grooved discs, purely on how they look. I have heard the cracking stories, but tbh, I don't see that as a risk. Unless someone can share an experience that makes me think otherwise, I personally feel like it's all a bit exaggerated personally?

Any tips on the below set up would be appreciated. Total cost of this set up would be £273, which is a considerable saving compared to other setups such as Redstuff/Yellowstuff.

  5. I want to give this a go, but I don;t want to cause any damage whilst I'm trying.

Would someone be able to explain how they got their switch off? Are you literally just holding it with your finger & thumb and pulling it off?

Once it is off, do you just take a stanley knife to it to get rid of the part that is preventing it being double pressed?

And to put it back on, does it click back in or something?

Tbh...a video would be great if one exists!

  6. Personally I would recommend these.

We can all pretend we're perfect drivers, but yeah sometimes you might scuff a rim while parallel parking, and these do the job.

I applied one and went for a spin and it was gone by the time I got back!

I then took my time on the other 3 and used a hairdryer and they've been fine.

  7. I know that quite a few people on here have had issues using Bluetooth in their 370's, so I thought I'd share my recent development!

I have owned a 2011 370z for about a year now. When I first got the car, I was using an iPhone 7, which paired up fine, but using it via bluetooth for phone calls was absolutely pointless, as nobody could ever hear/understand what I was saying. When I tried using my iPhone 7 for using it for playing music, it would always drop out and almost be crackly when trying to play music.

i recently got myself an iPhone X and when I deleted my old paired devices on my car & paired my new phone, I was amazed to find that I can now play music via bluetooth from my new iPhone X with hardly any problems. Unfortunately, it's still absolutely crap for phone calls, but I have decent earphones to take care of that.

I'm just over the moon  to finally be able to play music without wires!

Hope this is useful for someone.

Would anyone be interested in the lights i have on my car?

I am tempted to do my spare set and make the shrouds a lighter silver This time.

Id happilly fit them too if someone was local. Would be looking for your lights in exchange and a payment to cover the cost of the halos and paint. (i.e no labour)

I'm guessing you already have a few people lined up to take your lights mate?

    Hi All,

Thought I'd share my experience with this dreaded steering lock issue. DO THIS BEFORE YOU GET THE STEERING LOCK PROBLEM!

Never had any problems with my Z before, drove somewhere, parked up, returned to my car a few hours later and my car wouldn't start. The car didn't seem to be picking up the fact that my key was near the car, so I thought it was an issue with the key, but when I started hunting for clues on the forum, I realised that this was a steering lock issue.

I had ready about the steering lock issue before, but I didn't realise that something could be done about it BEFORE you experience the problem!

In short, I fixed the problem by banging my steering column up and down a few times, and the car finally allowed me to put it into 'Acc' mode.

From there, armed with nothing but my fingernails and a key, I popped the bonnet and followed the video tutorials in the following videos to remove the fuse that :

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QTCDIntpUI

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CkQEE0OIPU

I strongly recommend you have some proper tools with you though, as it will make the job a lot less frustrating!

I was quite lucky to be able to reactivate the steering lock, but would recommend everyone removes the fuse before this happens, as the cost of repair can be in excess of £1k if you don't manage to get any assistance from Nissan, who annoyingly have issued a recall for a select range of cars between 2009-2010, but not for cars who are facing the EXACT same issue outside of this date range!

Enjoy the picture of the £1k fuse and thank you to everyone on the forum who has shared this valuable advice which saved me over a grand! Really does show the value of the forum.

  10. Feel like a right numpty asking this question...

Where is the DVD for the satnav in the car?

I have searched the forum and found an answer suggesting that it's behind the drivers seat, but I can't see it... (pics attached!)

I've got a 2014 maps disc sitting there waiting to be used, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

    Cheers

    Some help needed!

I've got an updated maps dvd disc, but have searched in the car to find where on Earth I insert it, but can't find it!

I had searched the forum and seen some advice that it was in the cubby behind the drivers seat, but the first three pictures below is all I see. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Also...the 4th picture....what is this?!

    Thanks for the help!
