I did a little search which didn't turn up many results, so i thought I would ask. Will a Japanese engine fit into a UK Car? Well I know it will fit but I mean are there any differences? Like will it be able to work off the UK ECU, is there any modification required.... I really just want to know if it's a straight swap or do I need to modify/change things. Also another quick question. I haven't looked but what year cars had the rev-up engine? Did 55 plates have a rev-up engine? Edit: Is this correct 2003-2004 non rev up, 2005-2006 rev up, 2007 HR? Look on driftworks for some. They are popular drift alloys, however they mostly come up in 17's and 18's. DRIFTWORKS

I'm not too sure yet. My guy is going to take it out and have a look to see if it can be reconditioned or not.

Ok bumping my thread. I'm after a low mileage VQ35DE non rev up engine with proof. Would like at least a 3 month warranty. Could the mod's give the thread a bit of a clean up please?

Not any use of a reply but There is 3 of us now who need a new engine or engine rebuild.

VQ35DE 2004 Car Have had a look at engines. So far the best one is a 40k mile engine for £1200 delivered. With 3 month warranty.

Good luck however I fear the worse. Alex Me too. It's not all bad, I have really enjoyed the 3k miles i got from it so far . Do you know the price for a rebuild by any chance Alex? Going to ask the guy tomorrow but would like a rough estimate.

The noise has changed now though, it is much louder knocking/rattling coming from inside the engine. It does it all the time stationary and when moving. The noise now beings from when i turn the engine on. As the rpm gets higher so does the noise level, although i haven't taken it past 3500rpm. At about 3000rpm its at its louder but it may be because i haven't taken it higher. Should I take it past this level? I'm not too sure if the frequency increases but i think it does. I have has someone in the car whilst I listen, it doesn't sound healthy. As I said earlier it now sounds as if it's coming form the front of the engine. Sorry for only replying now, I thought I replied earlier because I went out to double check your questions answers.

Any more ideas before i take it to a garage?

Started it just now and went up and down the driveway. Sounds like a piston or something in the engine is rattling now, its more at the front of the engine now the noise. The rattle initially was at the rear bottom of the engine now there is a much louder one at the top.

Tescos super unleaded or total normal if i cant get to Tesco. I live in a semi rural area so Tescos is 20 minutes away and shell is 35. I don't get shell because it's too far out of the way.

Unsure what the problem is. Initially i thought it was the bottom end because that what the recovery man said. The day the noise began the car first stalled at the lights then when I pulled off and pulled over I heard the noise. I then took it to get fuel where it stalled again once i started it. It didn't stall when I pulled over prior to getting petrol. Them mid way through driving the car cut out and wouldn't start. I was only hearing a single clicking noise. I left it for about 20 minutes then it started but it was making the horrible rattle noise still. The engine seems to be fine with no loss of power or low oil pressure. There is no check engine light on. The noise gets louder as the rpm increases. I think it could be a loose flywheel but I'm not 100% sure (from similar sounding videos on youtube). I made a recording of it this morning to post to see if anybody can diagnose it or has had something similar before. There was a new clutch and flywheel installed about 2 months ago so it may be that the garaged has not torqued everything up properly. I'm looking for a tow eye for a 2004 Nissan 350z. Mine doesn't seem to have one unless it is been hidden somewhere. I may also need the little plastic thing that is used to cover the tow eye Holder. You pull it out to put the tow eye in.

Does anybody know the cost to rebuild a VQ35DE engine? Without Labour.

Hey, My engine went yesterday. The RAC van man told me it was a bottom end so I too am on the lookout for another engine. Been trying to think of what to do and i think the cheapest option is to get a reconditioned or low mileage engine. However I don't know where to start looking. I have just posted in the wanted section for a new engine but no response with something for sale. I have looked at the engine fitting and supply service on ebay but it's in Essex and I'm from south wales so getting there would be a problem. The other point is if i get the engine changed I also want to keep my current engine to fiddle about with. Finally I need to go to a garage of some sort to determine the problem. The engine is producing a loud knocking/ticking noise. It's at it's loudest at 3000rpm, you can't really hear it after that.
