  1. As per title. Bizarrely somebody discarded the battery clamp / strap on my vehicle prior to me purchasing it. If anyone has one kicking about - please pm me Thanks
  2. As per title - looking for a 350z owners manual (coupe) and wallet. Pm me if you've got one hanging about. Thanks.
  3. Just collected - top bloke - superb 350z
  4. I was out in the roadster today - in traffic - QED It's going to have to be a real nice day before I drop the auto coupe for the manual roadster in future! Only challenge at the moment is getting the coupes air con sorted out - it's defeated my air con engineer at present - but not before we've replaced half the system!
  5. I drive a lot in traffic and I find the high bite point on the z clutch a bit tedious - compared to other cars I drive, but I love most aspects of the zed. Plus, I've never believed that I could change gears better than a computer - and most of the time I'm right! The auto is sublime - so far. If gurnet would like to post what picture he'd like to see, I'll see what I can do :-)
  6. I didn't import it - it was already in the uk. Criteria was just about getting a right specced car - a lot of the imports have cloth seats, which are a bit, we'll, crap IMHO ! I love the rays wheels as I've got a set on my roadster - but the new one came with some quite sexy Matt black aftermarket rims and I managed to take the oem jdm 18" wheels off the owner as part of the deal - so I have an embarrassment of riches :-) I'll tell you what though, my roadster has been pretty well tweaked but the new car feels much more rapid with the auto box - it's a real shame they never offered the slush box in the UK as it is a nice unit. I might even chop my roadster in to get an auto roadster!
  7. This is coming up my list of priorities now, so, whilst I hear what is being said about going aftermarket...can anyone confirm - preferably with the benefit of experience - if the uk headunit will just swap with the jdm one using the original connector blocks or do you need some adapters? If you need adapters - does anyone know the serial number? Just for the record the jdm which the uk hu will be fitted to does not have sat nav.
  8. Thank you both for your replies and your input. I hear what you are saying - and I am sure that you are right - however, personally, I like to keep things oem. Just find it works better when buying selling cars - which I do quite regularly.
  9. Did search first - apologies if this old stuff. Just bought a 2005 JDM 350z/fairlady with a Bose headunit. It's got a frequency expander on it so you can receive UK fm stations but all the frequencies are wrong on the display and it is likely to challenge both mine and my good lady's patience....so, on the basis that I can source a UK Bose at a reasonable cost, will it just swap over? Or is all the wiring incompatable? If the wiring is different is there an ISO connector that will resolve the problem? Thanks guys
  10. Took a few months - but sorted now :-) Strangely, almost as specified - seek and ye shall find!
  11. If you'd have bought it privately - you'd have been absolutely stuffed. When you buy a car from a dealer it has to be of merchantable quality and fit for purpose - they are obliged to honour these precepts for a reasonable period regardless of any written warranty they provide. If it's only four months since you bought it - I think you will find that the dealer could be obliged by a little call from trading standards to put everything right for you. If not take them to the small claims court. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I am trying to sell a couple of cars at the moment and when one goes, I will be in the market for a JDM 350Z (Fairlady) Coupe - as I want an autobox. My wishlist is : Autobox - essential Black Leather Interior - essential Good condition - but I'd look at a tired car at the right price Average Mileage - preferably below 60 000 miles / 100 000Km Rays Alloys - Ideally Just about any colour other than sunset If anyone sees one or knows of one that might be for sale - can you post or PM me. Cheers
  13. By way of an update - the car failed its MOT again, so had to refit the cats for the re-test and then reverted back to the racing cats a few days later. Decided to spoil it a bit, cleaned up the pop charger and re-oiled it, cleaned the MAF meter/sensor and fitted new spark plugs and the car is absolutely flying To think I nearly sold it at Christmas - whatever was I thinking!
  14. CRC is the manufacturer of the cleaner spray. I got it off ebay - about £12 I think, will do about 20 MAFs! I'm not technical or mechanically minded but I read a few write ups and got right on with it! Not that tricky with the pop charger - could be a bit more involved with the standard airbox.
  15. Gave the popcharger a good clean and a re-oil last week and whilst I was at it, I cleaned the MAF meter / sensor as well with CRC - what a difference. Unfortunately because I did both jobs together I cannot be sure which action provided the greatest gain, but the sum of the parts was a fairly impressive hike in performance which following the recent change of plugs has turned old Z into a bit of a lairy beast again. Bring on the sunshine
  16. I've ordered the piper cross stuff for now - to get the job done - but, I had seen Tarmac Sportz's name mentioned in Google, so I may try him next time. Thanks for everyone's input.
  17. Bloody right it matters what colour it is - I want it to match the car and my eyes Good tip on the piper cross oil - thanks for that D Block
  18. I have spent the last two nights on google trying to locate either some original JWT blue filter oil or even an appropriate generic blue filter oil. Nothing. K&N easy. JWT nowhere. I understand the K&N oil would do the job but it is red and apparently makes the lovely blue filter go a nondescript colour. It's just i am about to service the 350 and the pop charger is in serious need of a clean. Does anyone either know where I can get a supply or, if they have a spare bottle kicking about - let me have it for a small fee?

  20. It's good news for the Zed - bad news for the Rex, which is now on pistonheads in its place! Looks like you've got me for a while longer!
  21. I think we can conclude that it is a buyers market at the moment - I often wonder how many people actually sell their cars on sites like Autotrader and Pistonheads. I have always done quite well on them but you do have to be patient and sometimes repeat / alter / re-price as you go along.
  22. If you really want to scare yourself - have a look on either 'Glasses' - great app for i-phone - or 'we buy any car' If I am having a nice day, I like to bring myself back to earth by valuing one of my cars on either of these sites! It is a great time to buy though - which is why I haven't been able to help myself and have a drive full of cars!
  23. That's exactly what i do! Mine was up at £7495 - there were only imports less than £7k when I checked. I'm running the Z today and I'd obviously forgotten what it was like when I contemplated selling it, so I think I've resolved that I think I'm going to keep the Z and try and move the RX8 on.... before anything breaks on it.
  24. That was a nice little fleet you had there - good for tesco points at the pump, that's for sure!
