  1. You should be able to connect any android tablet to your phone via wireless (possiby bluetooth, not sure) and use your phones data signal to use googlemaps on the tablet.
  2. Only took 9 hours too I think about 5 were on the first wheel. Ill have to take it to the garage tomorrow, I need the car on tuesday and dont want to risk messing it up again tomorrow night - pretty gutted about that, I want another crack at it. Had a good day though, I learnt plenty and enjoyed myself, good way to spend a sunday!
  3. Front & rear pads, front discs, braided lines all around, and a full set of spacers, all fitted without a problem! Bleeding the lines however, went slightly wrong. Ah well, 4/5 aint bad
  4. Try asking Abbey what they think of it?
  5. Search for: uprev remap cruise That should work mate, will return plenty of threads on what you want.
  6. Yeah I got one earlier cheers! Took about 3 hours to find anywhere that had them mind, most places I asked people didnt have a clue what they were either, or what a flare wrench was - made me feel pretty good
  7. Thread resurection, oops. For people who have fitted true coilovers since this, have there been issues? Have people taken the extra steps suggested above, or been fine without it? First time Ive read about this, and I was intending on fitting HSD HRs in the future, so any advice/experience would be much appreciated. Cheers!
  8. Oh and assuming all goes well, I'll make sure to do the nipples next time they need bleeding of course
  9. Yeah I read about that last night - I want to try and get these done tomorrow though, as I wont get chance for another 2 weeks after that...and I'm a big kid with new toys right now I will check all the nipples before I touch the lines, but assuming they're all fine I'll hold off on the nipples for now. None the less, I'll try not to cry when it all goes wrong you're telling me 'We told you so!'
  10. Thats gleaming cheers Alex! I think ive been overcomplicating the process in my head to be honest Id found the bleeding order from several of your past posts, couldnt for the life of me find anyone mentioning an order for replacing lines though, or if you had to disconnect one end first etc We shall see in the morning anyway. ive sprayed penetraing fluid on just about every nut and bolt down there and will give it another spray first thing, so hopefully it will be plain sailing
  11. Had 4 Ultrac Sessantas fitted this morning, coming from stock bridgestones. Despite the rear bridgestones still having 4mm at the lowest depth (fronts had an inch or more bald ring in the middle :o ), the difference in rear grip was obvious from pulling out of the garage. I've read loads of posts where people have talked about 'feel' of tyres and how progressive they are, and always just thought I was too daft/insensitive to know the difference - however, I think my eyes have been opened! Previously I had no idea if I was ever going to spin, or the back end was going to slip until it actually happened - I just kinda guessed, more likely on the conservative side as I very rarely triggered it in the dry. With the new tyres, despite still being fresh and not run in properly, I actually know whats happening with the car somehow, and can feel the slightest movement. I have no idea what causes this, but I absolutely love it, I can see it making a massive difference in the way I drive once i've clocked up a few hundred miles. Road noise is much much better now too, for what thats worth. All in all, despite not yet being run in & my limited knowledge of tyres, the Sessantas seem like a dastic improvement to me. I'll never even consider going back to 040s now, and I actually thought they were fine when I had them.
  12. I've searched and read about 100 threads on replacing pads/discs/lines & bleeding the brakes, and I'm happy with everything apart from the above few points. I may very well have missed them in reading about 500 pages on the subject, but I havent seen those points addressed directly.
  13. Come on, there must be someone thats not at Japfest or having Tea with Nissan that's done this before
  14. From what I gather that would bring it to about 295 if youre lucky - Just going from other results ive seen on here though, so could easily be wrong. Its not getting 320 on a pre facelift with just those mods done though!
  15. I could do with a few things clearing up before I do this at the weekend please! To replace the lines, the correct sequence is to disconnect the current flexi line from the hardline, disconnect from caliper, connect braided line to caliper, then hardline, right? Is it ok to replace all 4 lines and then bleed them in the correct order, or do I need to replace/bleed one line at a time? I figured the first method, as the second would just put air back into the system and screw me out of brake fluid? Finally, I keep reading about air getting back into the system being really bad - however, air is gonna be put into it when you replace the lines....So is the 'bad' part simply that if you let air in you just need to bleed more & waste fluid? Assuming I'm correct about the above queries, I'm pretty confident i know what I'm doing...as much as I can without having actually done it anyway! Cheers guys
  16. I hope its had more than just a remap to reach 320Bhp...
  17. Is that the passanger side m8, the near side.. apologies.. I know this is probably a question.. I have seen a few like this now.. Yep, nearside is the passenger side - because it's nearest to the pavement I believe....I thought it was the driver side for years!
  18. As said above, Banff is an amazing place. When covered in snow, it's hard to imagine somewhere more picturesque(sp?). Canada is a pretty amazing country all around to be fair, I love the place - don't think I could live over there until they get rid of those damn speed radars though, I had a $380 fine the only time I've driven there
  19. Stew - Yeah, brake fluid was in the plan too, just forgot to list it evilscorp - Good advice, I'll make sure to do it during the week. I can live without my car from Monday morning to Friday afternoon not a problem, outside of that I'll be in tears Thanks for the replies guys, nice to know I'm heading down the right path.
  20. Well, not really but it IS available, for now...and I've been meaning to do a few mods for a while. I'm trying to keep it within £3k. Here's what I've been thinking so far, and it's probably over budget already: Spacers 25mm rear/20mm front. Braided brake lines. DS2500 pads front & rear. DBA4000 disks front & rear. Eibach ARBs. Coilovers - either BC Racing BR or HSD HR, really not sure on this. I drive on quiet country roads most of the time, I don't track it yet although I do intend to start as soon as I get some free time (I'm planning for tuition as well). I'll decide what I want to do power wise further down the line, for now handling is the priority. So bearing that in mind, has anyone got any recommendations on the above? I've attempted researching as much as possible, but honestly it's frigging hard work! I think that seems like a good start though? Will i require any other suspension parts to get the above set up correctly? All the different suspension parts are confusing the hell out of me to be honest! Also it appears that I should be able to do most, if not all, of the work myself - short of having the geometry sorted, which I'll oviously leave to the professionals. I should be able to get access to all the tools required, and possibly some assistance from people with a little more expertise than me if required. If I'm being optimistic about that, someone shoot me down now before I do mess anything up Oh, also have new tyres on order due to tracking screwing up my fronts, they're already paid for and not to be counted in my budget. Cheers for any advice you can give guys! Andy
  21. Yeah, it'll happily drive along on just the clutch without stalling - Until you get to a bit of a slope anyway! Nothing to worry about there.
  22. Reminds me of another pet hate (not so much now, but when I drove a 1.6l focus), people that put their foot down as soon as you go to overtake them: If you overtake them anyway, they then proceed to overtake you, pull back into your lane and slow back down to their original speed Or if you decide not to overtake them as they're accelerating, and pull back in behind them, then they just let off the gas! I hate motorway driving, give be some nice country lanes any day of the week! Edit - Despite being annoyed by this stuff, I am actually a relaxed driver, and have never once lost my temper whilst driving. Doesn't mean I have to like them though!
  23. English motorways are terrible for driving. If people learnt a little bit of lane discipline, traffic would be nowhere near as bad as it is! The thing that gets me worked up the most is when people try and overtake someone going 1/10th mph slower than them, despite there being 20 drivers behind them, and nobody in front of them for 1/2 mile, causing a silly concertina effect. And people that just pull out 10-15 meters in front of you when they're going 20mph slower than you! And don't even get me started on indicating. And...and....and....

  25. Use the forum search for "clicking rear axle" if it sounds like it's coming from the rear, plenty of topics on that. Good luck whatever it is, hope it's nothing serious!
