  1. Sounds like a nice car... was there a particular reason for the respray? When are you looking at selling her?
  2. i thought you did well on that car, more than fair price considering the current market.
  3. jamster from my previous experience in the motor trade 'modern vehicles' whatever they are unless 50k+ can easily have 3 owners in the first 3 years from date of registration. It is quite normal for people to change their cars after 1-2 years of ownership (lucky people).
  4. hey I'm just down the road from penistown in vaginaville - only kidding but I do have a property about 5 minutes from penistone. If I actually owned a 350 we could have had a mini-meet > unfortunately to fund my z purchase I'm selling the property in Elsecar. Although if you ever want to show off the Z I'd like to have a good look around one as so far I have only been able to I went to the local Nissan showroom to bask in the glory of 370 goodness however the salesman chased me away with a big broom > must be my 'hobo chique' beard.
  5. I love the 370z they are amazing cars > been looking at ones to import from japan fully kitted up etc but they are expensive. Way out of my budget
  6. last night 5-8-11 looked amazing
  7. the white 350's and 370's are amazing
  8. wow http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-08-Reg-Nissan-350Z-3-5-Z-/190556509078?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c5e0d9396
  9. since I've started considering a 350z I have seen one parked in a car park that's it. I have never seen a 370z on the roads, and I drive around 20k per year.
  10. if your in the market now wanta350 check out this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170673297786&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT seems to be fairly cheap some GOOD bargains to be had out there. The guy has to sell it as he's moving abroad
  11. just personal preference I have been bitten a couple of times with jap imports ... like my MR2 tubby great car being jap more trouble than it was worth.
  12. now i'm not a 350 expert > i don't even have one yet >> but with the warm weather I would guess it's from the air con? but I'm sure someone will be along to correct me shortly. ha husky pipped me to the post
  13. for now I will keep my beady eye on whats up for sale over next few months who knows in that time I may meet a rich fat girl who wants to buy me a gtr in return for loving I only drive on a weekend so petrol is no concern and I shall keep the shed as it is a good car. I'm lucky enough to live where I work, and work where I live.
  14. yeah it was for sale last couple of months on autotrader etc I think. I would have thought about it for 6500 ish but I would rather spend the extra and go for a uk car
  15. I know I'm only 30 but I've had the emense pleasure of driving multiples of 'decent' cars > but never driven a 350 yet and trust me you get jealousy with everything you drive. I worked for Audi so got a different Audi every couple of weeks and I ended up in an Audi A8 > nothing over the top fancy just a normal saloon style car although has a BIG price tag. Anyways I pulled up at a petrol station and was filling the bad boy up about £80 worth and while I was there this 40 year old guy pulled up in a Mondog put like a tenner in his car and as he walked past me said "it must be nice driving around in daddy's car". To say that I almost fell over laughing was an understatement. As he walked back past me I was still filling mine up I just replied "grow up" and the guy flipped I mean seriously But I got that all of the time. Nobody seems to comment on my shed though :/ they must not be that jealous of a ten year old Honda
  16. I know prices on cars are constantly dropping... however from what I can see it is definitely a buyers market for this kind of car. In honesty do you see the prices of 350's crashing with fuel prices etc? I am close to being in a position to purchase one, however, I'm thinking about waiting till early part of next year as .... I will have saved an extra few thousand and petrol prices are expected to rise to over 140 per litre minimum On a further note to this if anyone has a crystal ball (that's ball not balls :/ ) how long till 370's start appearing in the open market for the 15-16k mark?
  17. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-350z-GT-V6-313-Coupe-2007-/160625178943?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item256601b93f someone seriously needs to stump up the cash This could be a mega cheap car for someone on here. Just wished my house had sold but hopefully it will work out well for someone.
  18. filling is alot cheaper but that is an awkward panel and > you will always be able to tell from my experience but than again I have quite a keen eye. I'm surprised there are no skins available instead of flat out replacement of the panel. I would shop around a bit more first see what other bodyshops can offer. Also don't be affraid to go to a smaller reputable family business as the bigger bodyshops seem to want to shaft you as your work in total is less valuable opportunity than insurance jobs etc.
  19. actually rabbit and DoogyRev raise good points and I have come up with a cunning plan to combine both of my questions > insure the old man on my car for when i'm away and then arrange for me to use his Audi estate when I need a bigger car result 2 decent cars instead of one. Maybe I can chip in a bit of money when he changes his car so when I need it the car is cool instead of lame And when would I ever drive an old car when the Zed is on the carpark? RESULT well at least that's sorted just need to finish saving and for my house to sell (which in the current climate is not easy I've even offered free hugs on viewings but alas still no buyers)
  20. Thanks guys > I think it will be a case of my first plan insure my dad on it and let him use it as a weekend car. I have the option of my brother but he has already killed 2 cars of mine so don't want there to be a third
  21. So another question before I commit to a 350z is how do they react to not being run so often? I know some cars react badly to being put into storage. I will hopefully be looking at an 07 onwards with sub 30k and full SH roadster gt. As the story goes I may get shipped off to somewhere sandy very soon (next year or 2, maybe twice in 2 years I just don't know). So before I start looking later in the year do I delay my purchase till I come back or just insure my dad on it and how regular would he have to run it? Also I may have another lump of cash when I come back to add to the budget so would then probably sell the one I have. But the argument against this is I'm currently driving around in a grey hair carrier and I want to be
  22. Just to give me an idea really ... I'm looking at buying a 350z roadster on 07 onwards later this year maybe after summer when prices dip a little, but I'm really considering keeping my old car as a run around. My old car I picked up REALLY cheap it's a Honda Accord on a W reg but it only has 40k on the clock with full service history. I can afford the second car. A point to note though is unless I am on leave I only drive at the weekend, so not sure if there is much point. However sometimes I do have to move alot of kit when I regularly move and I love the park anywhere factor of a car of this age, also for golf clubs, scuba equipment etc (which is not going anywhere near my zed when I get it)
  23. Damn I was looking forward to a bit of spam aswell
  24. I work with the gurkha's now > these guys are great always smiling and work so hard it's crazy
  25. for some reason I cannot reply to PM's cereal sorry. sorry if this is a long reply but you need to know before dipping your foot in... 1) I would say generally you can expect to be on one of three pay bandings: 8k basic 10k basic 12k basic personally I wouldn't have a basic like that to carry around megan fox's underwear (well thats probably a lie~) 2) +then you get paid 10% of profit in the metal (usually) 3)+then 5-10% on the commission knock back from the finance company. 4) + commission from selling products SO it seems like your on the gravy train right? WRONG and here's why: 1) the basic sucks! 2) most car companies have to retail there vehicles with low profits > gone are the days when I used to make 3K profit in the metal (=£300 in my wage packet) occasionally they still might but it's a rarity. If the car makes under a certain amount of profit you get paid £50 minimum and this is the majority! 3) unless your a finance manager/sales manager you don't know what the kick back is > and all car dealerships are liars! 4) The products are just a real pushy hard sell and then you lose the respect of your customer > and they are massively expensive. You can even lose a sale at this point purely down to products depends what the sales manager is like. 5) company car is great right? well you get stuck in run of the mill cars most of the time > until you become top sales dog and then you may get a nice smoker > however remember this is taxable and you have to pay for your own fuel. 6) every garage has it's top dog's > they really get preferential treatment I know because I had it for a whole year and my life was EASY! but everyone else is fighting for the scraps 7) The hours are long and hard > and you find that you get pulled into never taking a holiday (I worked with guys who didn't have a day off in three years because they needed the cash for a family etc) > also you work your days off just to get that couple of sales. Also weekends are the busiest time >so say goodby to your GF as shes going to be with someone else who is at home on the weekend. 8) How do you feel about walking up to someone >"hi how are you?" etc they tell you to F off > but you can't you have to stick with them like glue, or else your in for it off the sales manager > you can't leave them until they get in there cars and go > and if you do one of the other guys like me will try stealing your customer. It's easy at the start but after 6 years you just get fed up! 9) Sales in cars is totally seasonal > don't expect a decent wage between Nov and Feb because you don't take home anywhere near what you want. Wel I guess I bored you to death but > IT IS WELL WORTH READING And anyone who wants to criticise my overall assessment has shutters on their eyes and they are in denial. This is the gritty truth on car sales > and if you want to say it was because I wasn't any good here's where your wrong: -I worked for audi for a year, and BMW for a year -I was top salesman at Stoneacre dealership for a year -Top salesman at renault for a year -at 24 I had 51K at the top of the note -I drove everything from a kia picanto to a brand new range rover sport as demo's -I did both sales manager and business manager roles Sales is a drug and when I got out the industry had taken a dive bomb I found myself changing from dealership to dealership taking home between 800 -1500 a month at best! Whereas in previous years I had taken home anywhere up to 4K in a month. To answer your questions > it isn't a safe job poor performances lead to instant firing >I would expect to earn 18000 - 25000k per year + a car (but remember they hit you quite hard with company car tax Hope my mad ranting helps. BTW if you don't have a good career then give it a try for a year you never know you might find your pot of gold
