  1. ISF sounds great, but looks like something my grandad would drive.

    £50K = GTR no contest!

Pretty sure the 370z will gain in popularity as time goes by. Superb car, done 5,000 miles so far in a year, 3,000 of which driving around France, hasn't missed a beat :teeth:

Just had to Google ISF to see what they look like.....Urghhh

  2. I'm no expert, but our 370 is about 2 years old and has approx 11K miles on it. Never had any problems apart from a minor issue with dodgy boot springs needing replacing.

It's my first car so I can't compare it to much (apart from the 1.2 Fiesta I diesel I learnt in  ) but I'm absolutely totally in love with it! Very likely that I'll be sticking with Zs unless something totally amazing comes along at a similar price, which seems very unlikely!

  3. I believe the pre-CP system had a 6CD changer. As soon as CP came in it was single CD and HDD jukebox.

Just for interest, although the 09's come without the HDD / USB etc it is possible to conntect an Ipod or other MP3 player using a simple analogue cable which connects to a jack in the little storage compartment between the seats. I use this method and it works well - you just don't get the track information displayed on screen etc.

  4. Ello - weren't you going to post a vid of your new Stillen in action?! :)

Ha ha, I'll happily do so if someone could help me with two things -:

    .

    1) how to blank out my reg.plate from the video I've already taken

    2) how best to upload full 1080p video clips that range from 200mb to 350mb

    Errrr pass and pass! :bang:

  5. No point in trying to beat the depreciation game with these cars. Whilst dealers keep offering these sorts of deals we're all f*cked  ...

    http://www.westwaynissan.co.uk/new-niss ... erGT-offer

...plus I should add, when I nearly posted about this yesterday, the deal was a saving over over £7k, it's been bettered to a saving of over £10k in the last 24 hours. We'll all be driving Micras when our deals expire due to the severe kicking Nissan are forcing upon us all with these deals.

Ello - weren't you going to post a vid of your new Stillen in action?! :)

  6. erm.... I wasn't given a choice ??

but as its on the black rose colour (black would be the same) it's not too shouty - so I'm ok with it :D

on the white, however, it's very distinctive

I think someone posted a picture of a Black Rose GT Ed. a while back and I remember that the stripe wasn't very prominent. I could probably live with it on a Black one (since I'll be buying second hand if I get in one in about 18 months, I probably won't have much of a choice!)

  7. I'm a similar age to you and the 370Z is my very first car, having only got around to taking my test quite recently. I reckon if I can get along with one anyone can!

I get a hell of a kick out of having a car that's relatively uncommon on the roads and turns a lot of heads. I think it gets way more attention that the usual suspects (Audi TT, Porsche Boxter etc etc) which are ten-a-penny around where I live.

I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough on the technical side of things to give advice on possible issues. All I can say is that I've had no discernable problems with the car since we got it 18 months ago (with the exception of a well known boot spring problem, which was easily sorted out by our local dealer under warranty).

I'd say go for it (I'd suggest looking at a White one...)

  8. If you dont mind me asking why are you not happy with your current 370z?

    He said not UNhappy :)

    whoops :lol::blush:

Yep I love the White Z as does my better-half! I reckon I'll stay as I am for now. The Black Ed is tempting, but I guess it makes more sense to hold out until my current finance agreement comes to end in about 18 months then look at a GT Edition, otherwise I'm taking a big financial hit for little more than a different colour

(Not been able to find a single picture of a GT Edition in black yet though....).

Cheers for all the advice! B)

  9. Hi all,

I'm seriously considering going to look at this at the weekend with a view to trading in my current Z (09 GT Ultimate - White).

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201136413743294/sort/priceasc/usedcars/model/370_z/make/nissan/page/1/quicksearch/true/postcode/tw14na/radius/20?logcode=p

I not unhappy with the current car - far from it - but I've always loved the look of the Black Edition and I'm guessing it might hold it's value for longer, being limited edition.

I'd be interested to know if you think it looks a decent price for the mileage etc. And can anyone explain what "Parking distance control" is? I thought it might mean parking sensors, but I can see any in the pictures.

I'm a bit of a novice at car buying (only passed my test quite recently - late starter at 40!) so any tips on what to look out for would be great too)

    Cheers.

  10. Take it back to where you bought it and ask them to have a look

I agree. I wouldn't expect the measurements to be 100% accurate but the second two measurements look well off. Take it back for to the dealer to be checked out.

  11. I can't decide how I feel about the stripe but it's a very handsome car!

Hoping that some of these might be on the market at reasonable prices when I'm due to trade in the current Z under a preferences deal in about 18 months time.

  12. Hello

The T&Cs of your agreement are exactly the same as an HP agreement.

So, If you decide 24c months in to your 36 month agreement that you want to change your 370Z to an X-Trail or a Kia, or what ever, you can do so.

You would go about it exactly as if it was an HP agreement, i.e. call up for a settlement figure and off set against the value of the current vehicle (the Zed)

Next time please purchase from a person who knows what they are doing (ish!):lol::lol::lol:

Any other question please just call me or PM

Spiffing advice old chap! Can't see me wanting to give up the current Z early but it helps to know I've got the option (if they come up with a colour I like better than the white!)

  13. I got my Z on one of these - Paid a deposit, pay monthly for a set period (three years in my case) and then decide whether to give the car back, pay the balance, or part exchange for a new one (the most likely option for me).

The one thing I can't seem to find out, even from Nissan Customer Services (sigh....) is whether I am tied to the original three year period before I trade-in for a new one, or could I decide after two years to trade in and have the agreement adjusted accordingly. I'm very happy with the current car for now, but it would good to know if I have the option of an earlier trade-in if something comes up in future (by "something" it will most probably be a different 370Z!).

I know a few Nissan dealers visit this site (tried mine, but not much help) so grateful if anyone knows the answer...

  14. I'm a shorty at about 5.7 (5.8 if I'm feeling optimistic). Wasn't til I'd had the car about 2 months that I realised you could raise the driver's seat height with one of the 'dials' on the side. With that and just moving the seat forward I get along fine, as does my girlfriend, whose not much over 5ft.

  15. ...thinking about it, the easiest thing to do is point to you a thread I made on another forum I regularily contribute to. I'm obviously educating my mates with Beemers so you just need to gloss over the bits you know.

    http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthrea ... light=370z

No videos on there though but will post if someone can tell me how to post up video up to 600mb (most between 200 & 400mb though).

Thanks. Interesting write-up on the other site! I am going to give some serious thought to getting one. Girlfiend doesn't like the idea at all and since she contributed her old car to the deposit I have to do the decent thing and listen (or at least pretend to ) ! A not-too-mental sound would help to win her over! Be great to see a vid if you can find a way of posting one (or a link) when you get time.

  16. I should really post a before/just after/2 months after diary of my Stillen experience shouldn't I...

Will make time for a write-up soon.

I'd be interested to know how much difference this makes to the sound of the car over the stock exhaust. I love my Z but would like it to have a bit more of a "growl" without sounding too mental. (I reckon I'm cautious because the only exhaust mods I see 'in the flesh' seem to be on clapped out cars driven by teenagers, which look stupid and sound truly horrible)

I've seen quite a few vids on the net showing 370Zs with various different exhausts. I think the Stillen vid sounded good - more growl than the stock, but not as over the top as some.

Did you have much bother finding someone to fit it?

  17. I used to enjoy getting in about my car in a detailing sense, now I just can't be bothered, so I decided to have her professionally detailed. Best decision I've made re cleaning

Now I just have to give her a wash and dry her off and occaisionally a wipe down with some Do Do Juice Tropical. The detail should last for around 4 months, longer the less I wash it I guess, sooner the more I do, I will, however, get a pre-winter protection detail for peace of mind.

The plethera of products and advice is actually mind bogglingly numbing to me, I am lazy though :teeth:

The cost of buying all the materials and time it takes just doesn't make it a worthwhile prospect for me, 1/2 hr wash and dry and Bob's your Aunty, ready for a drive  I do admire the guys that spend the time to do it with startlingly fantastic results, but I would rather be at the country pub having lunch than on the drive claying, polishing, waxing and buffing

Totally get where you're coming from, but the odd thing is since I work in an office all week I find being out in the fresh air doing the car quite theraputic! Maybe I'll get fed up with it eventually though!
