  1. Just went to fit spacers to my new nismo mk2 and found these...

The car sits significantly lower now and feels much smoother! Can't believe these were still there and the difference it made to the ride by taking the buggers out.

    another one bites the dust..!

At least it only took me a month to find them ;)

Shocked this happens to so many people.

 - I think I miss mine being in, far too "wafty" with them out... or maybe because my springs have stretched?! who knows.

Somebody needs to write Nissan GB about this.

I have an open case with them at the moment.

  3. While it's on my mind, it might shock you to learn that it seems that a large percentage of recent 370Z buyers have found that the transport spring spacers are still in place, making hte car feel most strange at speed. Worth a check for them...

+1 - get the car on full lock and look for this:

  4. Hi I have dash cams front and back in my Z so this helps to keep garage etc. in check Do you have dash cam on your Z ? another option perhaps starting from £50

http://www.halfords....-cams/dash-cams . Not the most elegant solution but :D

also looking into getting a dash cam fitted too - however not keen on fitting in myself as i'd want it hard wired. halfrauds fit for circa £30. . . what could possibly go wrong ?

The halfrauds ones are easy to do, if you can locate your fuse board you can wire it in. The kit comes with a piggyback fuse adaptor, you take a fuse out that is linked to ignition on (i.e 12v socket), put the new bit in, and put the fuse you removed n the back of it. I'm a non skilled halfrauds manager and have fitted numerous without breaking anything.

Taking a note of your mileage is worth doing, resetting trips etc. I know its resolved now but I'd opt to leave my car and trust them.

He is a Halfrauds manager everyone! flame him.

thanks Jay - how wrong can it go! .. i'll get one and wire it in myself then if its straightforward.

  5. sends chills down my spine... i'd rather drive my Z without a windscreen than let those n00bs back near it.

Purely out of interest, what was the outcome of yours? The thread went a little quiet..

Regardless, i'll be using autoglass and i will be doing a video documenting the condition of my car in all the areas people have mentioned above before they commence work.

after blood sweat and tears, and an email to all of their senior managers - they sent out a "specialist" to fixed all of the damage that was caused. It took at lot of time and complaining to get to that resolution....

  7. elo.

Managed to scuff a wheel on the dangerously high curbs of Oxford. Keen to get a refurb booked in, however slightly hesitant to leave my car with them for 3 days.

Option 1: could I take the wheel off and put the front of the car on a scissor jack for 3 days, or would I have to use an axle stand.

Option 2: leave my car with them and hope they don't hoon it around. as after all, all hoomans are a constant disappointment?

  8. Precisely why I filmed the guy in the lorry who drove into my BMW at the services last year, when he admitted to pulling out to his left yet was indicating to the right. I would always film everything these days after an accident, even if all I do is have my phone by my side so it's capturing sound if nothing else.

i REALLY need to get a dash cam fitted!

  9. This reminds me of when I was on my way to a dealers to do a trade in deal for a new car. On approaching a Motorway exit that formed a junction with the A road I was driving down, an old bellend in a Merc pulled out from the jct right in front of me, I tried to steer round him while hammering the brakes ( so much in fact I broke the brake pedal sensor under the brake pedal), nope, to no avail, he just kept coming out.

After getting out and being somewhat bewildered at his stupidity, I stayed calm and asked if he was ok, his exact words were 'sorry son, I just didn't see you', I felt a bit sorry for him then but fair play he was admitting, to a point, liability. So after all the usual phone calls etc, my car was still driveable, his was dead. He then came up to me and said, again exact words,'I think you were going a bit too fast'

I replied, 'So what you're saying is, you thought I was going a bit too fast and then decided to pull out in front of me?, I might have to get the police now as you've just tried to kill me!' 'I suggest you have a think of what you are saying and just inform your insurance of the facts'

My car was taken away to be repaired that day, with his insurance admitting full liability:)

great response to the situation . If only I could be as calm and collected in such situation...

  10. Apart from losing £10k as you drive it off the forecourt, nothing to worry about at all.

Just check they remove the suspension spacers on the PDI.

    +1

Unless you prefer having the additional 1" lift on the front to avoid scraping... which I found out to my peril last week!

  11. Paying £40k for a new Nismo is utterly insane money. Either go used for the £25k-£30k that Sipar says, or buy a standard one for £15k and mod the heck out of it.

You can't put a price on a new car smell Dan!

** no response posts of £4.99 'new car smell' car air freshener allowed as it kills my point
