  1. Yeah those prices above are the lowest you'll find with either Litchfield or SVM. If you go to a dealer they'll charge £2k for tyres and double the cost of servicing.

I think my brakes and tyres will be knackered after CATDT in April so I'm not looking forward to that bill!

  2. Most GTR owners I know are people who like to tinker. I was never into modding cars until I got my 350z and since then I don't think I could get something like an Jag or Porsche as they just don't fall under the modding category for me. It seems all the fun of pissing money up the wall on modding is to be had in Jap cars.

If you want a badge, get a Porsche.

If you want comfort, get a Jag or Maserati.

If you want to constantly mod, get something Jap.

I reckon my next car will be a Maserati but I just can't see it for a few years as I don't yearn for the comfort yet and if I say I drive a Nissan to someone, I'm not arsed.

  3. Tyres - £1000 (MPSS)

    Brake Pads - £500-700

    Brake Discs - £1500-2500

    Service costs - £400-600

    Fuel - 15mpg

Running costs depend how many miles you do really, I only do 4000-5000 miles a year so tyres will last 18 months at least and brakes every 24 months unless I'm tracking the car.

There are a few issues with the cars that crop up such as bellhousing fix (£700), gearbox solenoid issues (~£500 with transmission fluid).

  4. If I didn't feel I could use it every day driving in and out of Manchester, and parking it all day in a car park or on the street, I wouldn't own it. Not had a single issue with it since I bought it which compared to my 350z is great as that scrapped on bloody everything and the stretched tyres meant the wheels weren't protected much from kerbs.

As Ekona says, I couldn't see the point owning a car that I care for so much that I wouldn't take it to Tesco on a busy Saturday morning and parking it between a couple of bangers. Can't be doing with constant stress, I just use the bloody thing!

  5. Going from a 350z to a GTR helped a lot as I always felt the 350z was wide and I'll take the GTR anywhere I would've taken the 350z. I won't go in multi-storey car parks, as I scrapped the tits off my 350z, but I will go in a standard car park. It's a squeeze but I park my car in Manchester city centre most days in a standard NCP/ECP and it's been ok so far :)

I'm mainly wanting to wrap mine as it's black, and the black paint is made of soft cheese. I can't wash the bloody thing without putting swirls on it, and that is with the worlds softest mitt. I had bird crap on the car for 24 hours and it's left a mark on the paint, it's insanely soft.

I've got a set of MPSS in the garage so I might put them on new wheels and use the OEM ones as track wheels with the Bridgestones on, if they last the CATDT day in April.

  6. Going to get Paul @ PW Pro to wrap the car, still to decide on the exact colour though. Needs to be pearlescent as the gloss wraps don't have anywhere near the depth of paint and to me they just look like a shoddy paint job. The other option is satin/matte but I think I'd miss the shine too much! I'm hoping there is a very close pearlescent match to Volcano Orange, but need to go over to PW Pro to see what they have, and it's a 2 hour drive each way.

Wheels, I'm tempted by the TSW Nurburgring in matte gunmetal or BBS CH-R. I think the BBS aren't forged though so I'll probably go for the TSW's.

Carbon wise, it'll be rear diffusers, front splitter, bonnet vents, side vents, skirts and grill. Should look good, if I can decide on a bloody colour!

That colour + carbon is just B)

  7. Thanks :) The rear is my favourite, has a lovely carbon fibre diffuser! Going to be getting wrapped this year and all the carbon goodies I have in the garage will be going on it :teeth:

Not had a single person in the car not giggle like a school girl or bollock me (the missus) when I put my foot down  and that's without even having to go round a corner with them in the car!

  8. Don't expect too much of an improvement with the MY11+ suspension unless you've got MPSS as well. I noticed an improvement but for the cost of them and fitting Iwouldn't do it again!

Love the boot, I think I'm gonna go for the carbon one if/when I get the car wrapped. Got some carbon parts in the post today but they're just gonna sit in the garage for a few months until I decide when to get the car wrapped.

  9. One of these

    http://www.amazon.co...1&keywords=ctek

One of these two, depending on sizes (I don't know 350z terminal sizes, GTR is 8mm)

    http://www.amazon.co...=ctek indicator

    http://www.amazon.co...=ctek indicator

And one of these if you need a longer cable

    http://www.amazon.co...=ctek extension

Disconnect negative terminal first, then positive. Attach comfort level indicators then reattach positive then negative. Should see one of the LEDs on the comfort indicator flash on and off to tell you the state of the battery.

Plug CTEK into wall, not on, connect to comfort indicator, switch on at wall. Done :)

I have my car plugged into the CTEK whenever I know I'm not going to be driving it for more than a couple of days, keeps the battery in decent condition as sometimes I can go a couple of weeks without driving it.

  10. Ah ok, was going to say I know of a decent 5.1 setup for around £1200 which is very similar to what I have in the lounge.

For around £100 you'll probably be best looking at multimedia/PC speakers that have an optical input or two.

Logitech do a few systems such as Z506 and Z906 but you need to make sure they have optical inputs otherwise won't be getting true 5.1 surround sound from a PS3.

Decent option for £60 but again, wouldn't be surround sound but not sure how much that would bother you!
