  1. hade them balanced and laser aligned. Good job no wonder it was wobbly. Both new fronts that were fitted by WLMG Bridgestone OEM were 15 gramms lite Which suggests that either the tyre fitter never balanced them. The machine was faulty or the weights were blown off by WLMG power car wash. As this is the 2nd car from WLMG in 5 months and both cars had new tyres on the front and both were light by about the same weight. Does suggest that the tyre fitter they employ is a plonker. Anyway the nearside rear was 30 grammes lite and offside rear 20 grammes lite. front camber was in tolerance (Just) and rear was so far out you needed a taxi to get it back in. Best money I ever spent. Smooth as a whistle and no wobbles:) But reading up on tyre experiences I have to agree if you go out in torrential rain you need full body armour a roll cage and a harness. Think i will try those Toyo proxes TIR's. Just need to find out the widest I can saftely get away with on 18 ome rays:)
  2. I would quickly change your speed to 70:) There is a admin guy that will change it for you otherwise. I of course never go above the speed limit and only use a disused RAF runway. Must put that up next time I mention the ton up word?
  3. You have got to get some. Not familiur with the terminology but from what l could gather is has more BHP than a 370, has approx 300 at FW added 50lb of Torque and when I asked what the top end might be as he lifted the limiter Mark replied the PC was showing 186mph. I was shocked at the difference because over the last few months l have heard so many bull stories I was not sure what to expect. As soon as I am out of Hospital 16th September i will arrange with you to fix the wiring if I may. I am definately getting the Supercharger as the car is as you know a 2009 with 11000 on the clock so as i am going to spend a lot of time in it why not spoil myself:) I would be interested in that carbon kit floated along at the same price you got it for again:) Only outside mod will be putting the rear tyres on the front and 275's on the rear as it did kind of slide round that sweeping left from M25 to wards Croydon! Overall best decision I have ever made and a lot of fun to come I hope. There is an old disused RAF air field with big long runway up near Skeggy. They allow certain folk to have a play. What do you recon 0-60 is as we are about the same l think. Mark said about 335 BPH? Once again. get those pipes fitted as they really do compliment the Milltek. mark said something about getting some in stock so that must say something! Peter
  4. I went to Abbey yesterday and mark did uprev on mine. Not sure i yet fully understand everything hence I was constantly asking Mark questions. (Think I am barred from the tuning room ha ha) All i can say is on the short bursts of speed I could get I was shocked that such a difference. B4 I went I was having problems pulling away in 1st without jerking. Now it is as smooth as silk. I will never use anyone else and I am a fussy old sod! thenoname
  5. I just looked on internet and typed in how much to align wheels and they came up. Didn't have my thinking cap on so I have cancelled and taking it to where my mate has his Ferrari done. Thanks for all the advice:) thenoname
  6. I think I will take your advise and cancel.
  7. Halfords have an online deal on alignments of £25. Which is a site cheaper than the £95 I paid last year for laser on my pathfinder. at ATS Grimsby Hope halfords are laser? Thanks for your speedy reply regards Peter

    Vibration

I have tried to find this elsewhere but to no avail. I picked up my replacement 350 ZGT from the dealers today same year 2009 but with less miles on the clock 11000 When I test drove the car it had just beed serviced and had 2 new potenza's on the front and the back also Potenza's look only a few weeks old. Anyway the salesman came with me and i insisted on a decent drive. So We went from Eastcote down to the A40 and onto the M40 and took the car up to 70 mph. She drove fine and I could not fault it. Due to circumstances I could not exchange for 2 weeks so the car was parked up and I made a note of the mileage. Today I went to pick her up and the milage was the same. I took the same route as before and was on my own, however I noticed or felt vibration through the steering wheel at 50 mph. I turned of M40 to M25 then A3 to Wimbledon. Throughout that entire trip the vibration was there. until I was below 50 mph. Any ideas as to what it might be and why it did not show up with 2 in the car but only when I was driving. I let go of the wheel a few times and it wanted to turn to the left. But did not noticably pull left when l braked. As the vehicle has only done 11000 miles any help would be appreciated. Although the vehicle is still in warrante I can'r be bothered to take it back so I booked it in with a local centre that charges £25 to align the wheels. maybe I should get them all balanced as well. I am beginning to think I am jinxed?
  9. Going to post a warning now. Most will know already but some will not. Quite a few of the Nissan dealers on the list subscribe to the "Nissan buy back Scheme" This means they have 1st option on ex lease or hire after the lease term is up. Unless you ask b4 you buy you won't know until you get the log book back. I have had 2 vehicles like this (My fault) However you need to check the service book. If the service schedule has not been adeared to ie 9000 for Zed and 18000 for pathfinder Your engine will not be covered by warrantee. I was told this after phoning Nissan UK Rickmansworth. One of the reasons I am swoping my zed is that the 1st service was not done until 12500 miles. the 18000 mls was missed and the next one was done when I bought it as 26000. plus I found it was a ex lease. But to be fair the dealership have found me a none lease car, and as individuals they are really nice people. thenoname
  10. Nissan Shepperton are WLMG. They have a sevear attitude problem with some very rude service personnel. I went to their MD over them?
  11. Yet I had one of the worst experiences ever at Crystals in Grantham Went to pick up a pathfinder Adventura 18 months old late one Saturday evening and it had 4 nasty dents in it a bald front offside tyre and the wire sticking out of the spare. I skidded on the motorway. The wipper blades were ripped. Plus it was an ex lease vehicle and had not had the 1st service at 18months rendering the Warranty useless. They put new tyres all round put their own warranty on it and gave me £500. I kept it for 18 months and did it up so you could eat your dinner of it and sold it to a Nissan dealer 2 years later adding 20000 miles on the clock for £1500 more than what I paid for it:) Then the next day they sold it for almost £3k more than what they gave me for it and the blokes well happy:)
  12. Why would you want some 18 yr old YTS boy to clean your car out back with a crappy sponge full of rocks scrape it across your car I used to explicity state DO NOT CLEAN MY CAR, and used to go mad when it can back dripping wet On this topic, West Way Nissan in Birmingham: -Tried to leave me stereo-less when replacing my skipping bose -Scratched my centre console when taking the bose out. -scratched my RAYS by putting them face down on the floor -Ripped the inner door card by leaving the seat belt extended and then slamming the door -When replacing my bose they wrongly reconnected my heater cables, so after spending an hour in the managers office kicking off about all of the above I angrily jumped in my car and sped off. I immediately noticed that the heaters were set to full power and maximum heat with no way whatsoever of being able to turn them down or off!! So now I was fecking fuming AND roasting my tits off!!!! 30 seconds later I'm back at the desk ready to petrol bomb the whole place The heater thing is a standing Joke with Nissan spanner Vankers. WLMG Shepperton turned mine up full blast one summer day when I read the Service Manager the riot act for being a complete Dip stick
  13. It's a bit difficult when your still dealing with them and they own most of the Nissan dealerships to the West of London down to the Bridge at Walton-Upon Thames. Ha ha I will have a read as I think they have already been mentioned. Thenoname
  14. Well I have to say when I got the car back it purred. No Missfire absolutely fantastic:) Umm well for about 2 weeks then thje missfire came back. You can see the revcounter dipping everytime the engine pitches. Not bothered as I am picking up the exchange one next week and I took it for a good test drive. Same year 2009 but 11.000 on the clock instead of 27000. Plus it is not a ex lease. I did find that the last 2 occasions the dealership had my car it came back with a total of 7 small dents and a scratch. And someone had closed the bonnet whilst a nut or tool was on the cross strutt. It has a pin dent facing upwards enough to have spider cracked the paint. This happens every single time and this is the 3rd branch of the dealership I have used. Anyway I was looking at parkers guide and write up on the 370 and this is a quick sentance from their comments: Nissan servicing is good value, although the dealers don't have as good a reputation for customer satisfaction as other Japanese manufacturers. I wonder why this is? thenoname
  15. Well I have a little bet it aint the pussy cat:) Thanks for the info and i shall aim it where it belongs:) Peter
  16. Can any of you techno geniouses out there tell me this. If my Z has quite a prominant missfire. Would a cracked Cat cause this or did the missfire cause the cracked cat? Out of the 90 days I have had the Zed 75 of them the car has been off the road. And trying to find a 2009 one owner that has not been an ex lease or hire car is as rare as hens teeth! rehards Peter
  17. Just been informed That they have found the problem which it is caused by cracked Catalytic Converter, parts on order for tomorrow. Cheers Mehmet So thanks for all the imput guys Peter
  18. Update. Car has been away since last Monday! Nothing is ever easy with me! Still I have a nice new Nissan Micra to play with ha ha. Wish I could get the same fuel economy from the Zed:)
  19. There are lots of reasons and it is individuals preferance. Up to date I have not bothered because it is as I said very dificult unless to are part of the security services to get an address. However I do know of one person who had his Ferrari stolen a few years back because he gave to much info on the Ferrari Forum and they turned up at a meet and they think he was followed home. The rest is History, or his car is. A simular thing happened to me with my 1965 Daimler M11 250V8. I was followed (we think) from a car meet to a friends house and it had gone within the hour. £18k I spent on doing it up. So thinking about it and if we use vision and forsight it might not be a good idea to like individuals with plates. But all that goes out of the window because if i want to advertise selling private plates I have to photograph them and put my name or user name on a piece of paper? I surrender:)
  20. I agree 100% with you. A lot of the time number plates are covered up by sellers so you can't do a check. These checks include how many owners and what the car is worth ie Private. Dealer or at Auction. I have a phone app and it costs me £2.50 to get all the info. However it does not tell me the name and personal details of current and fromer keepers. Even the Police have to log and have a very good reason for requesting a number plate check. Otherwise they are in the @*!#.
  21. Hi Colin Thats exactly what Toyota have it down as I wondered if Japanese car manufacturers used a generic coding:) many thanks for getting back to me and everyone else. You have as always been a great help and when I eventually get sorted with a car that I can call my own be it a 350 or 370 maybe we can join up at a meet and I will stand you guys a beer. Suddenly 1000 members carry me over to the beer tent:) What the hell I cant take it with me. Do they have meets in the Kingston Croydon area? Peter As I have been on this forum nearly 6 years only pleased to share info I have gleaned (and can remmeber ), over the years. Safe to say you are certainly a SE member and we have our moments, and only yesterday for example: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=50253 and viewtopic.php?f=93&t=46773&start=75 another meet location: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=48304&hilit=grasshopper&start=75 So just keep your eyes peeled for the next and if you are around Epsom way you can stand me that drink Born and bred in Dorking, Now living Morden. So no doubt we tread the same tarmac:)
