    350z GT

Hi, are you looking for coupe or convertible? i have Azure Blue convertible with GT pack. it was registered 7 days too late to get into the lower tax unfortunatly :'( and doesnt have the rays alloys but is just shy of 60k miles. only mod from standard is brake disc/pads... would be more than £6k though from looking at other ones for sale
  2. any ideas what sort of life i can expect from them? got around 12k miles from hankooks
  3. thanks for the tips, i have now discovered that the Hankooks are on back order and will be around two weeks for any sites/garages ordering direct from them. the vreds are available direct from them so have gone for those at the moment, should be getting them fitted tomorrow/friday!
  4. Hi all, im currently running Hankooks Ventus V12 Evo tyres all round (standard 18" 225 + 245) but am now unsure what to do so turning to the experts here.... fronts are fine loads of tread left, rears have had it and need replacing as soon as my credit card rolls over in a couple weeks! i could get 2 more Hankooks on the rear and be sorted - they seem to get favourable reviews, i have no real complaints except when i took it on a track i thought they had terrible understeer (highly likely driver error though) but couldnt fault them on road in wet/dry/snow - they have lasted around 12k miles do i go for something else? it seems Vredesteins are highly recommended but i cant find anywhere that supplies them other than camskill? if i go that route does anyone know of a place that will fit them round york/malton area? if going for these could i get away with just rears or do i really need to fit all round? how many miles are people getting out of these? Cheers Chris
  5. i started at -2 in the garage by the time i got to the main roads it was down to -12C <- slight understatment icon. mate on way to work saw -13C on his car in York btw
  6. right i've been reading for quite a while and really cant get my head round what i need to upgrade the head unit. i have the bose with 6 cd changer and no steering wheel control and no sat nav on an 06 pre-face lift. i have a Pioneer P5900MP (http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/arch ... index.html) that i want to fit as i've had it for a couple of years and its barely been used. from looking at the sticky i need this cable: http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/adaptor_ ... 0-134.html ? and the single din surround thing. will this just 'plug n play'? and will this give me all the speakers and sub working? as long as it sounds ok im happy rather than aiming for super high quality - the bose is skipping quite a bit hence i want to replace it. do i need anything else or would i need to do any modification to wires anywhere? maybe a silly question but i couldnt see the answer - is the existing bose i have just a massive unit with the cd changer built in - is there a removal guide somewhere? thanks very much!!
  7. thanks for the replies all, i am a bit suprised to hear 20 mins is too long a stint though. i was actually planning to stop anyway when i felt the brakes had gone so i guess if i had taken a lap off i wouldnt have know. i thought cadwell would be a hard circuit on the brakes? 1 big stop from over 100 and then another big stop down hill and then straight away another stop from about 80ish? how does cadwell compare to croft or oulton park for brakes? (only other two tracks ive been on and want to do) i think i will need brakes than can stand more use if i go back on track - the reason being i will always be sharing with my dad and even though he wont be as hard on the brakes i would like more of a buffer. baring this in mind should i be looking just new pads/fluid or bigger disks/calipers? really not sure of the best option?? the disks i've got do seem to be fine today - was 100 mile drive home from track and driven about 20 miles today. no vibration detected. Cheers!
  8. Hi guys, i had my first track day on sunday at Cadwell which is a fantastic track! i have an 06 non facelift convertible with the brembo brakes. was ok in the morning session i didnt have a huge amonunt of track time it was mainly my dad driving and going easy. i went out straight away for the afternoon session and completely cooked the brakes after only 20 minutes! the brake pedal would go right to the floor and i had to pump i to get any resistance and had very little stopping power. i did a slow cooling down lap and when i pulled off some idiot infront of my stopped on the pit exit to speak to a marshal! if you know cadwell its a pretty steep hill - i couldnt hold the car still with either hand brake or foot brake and had to sit spinning the clutch and hold it on the engine til he moved. spent a few mins driving round the car park to try and cool them abit when i finally stopped and looking the discs had a blue/purple colour and smelled, could tell they were v hot as well. so my questions are: 1) should i abandon the z as an occasional track car (its my daily driver) 2) have i done any permenant damage (brakes are ok today although the pedal seems a little longer) 3) are the brembos any good? can i just get new pads/brake fluid and use on the track? 4) how much am i looking for a decent upgrade calipers/pads/disks and what should i get? (very subjective i know) thanks very much guys!! oh as far as i know its completely stock brembo brakes likely on original pads as car has only done 14k miles. and its standard alloys rather than rays if that makes any difference to airflow/cooling.
  9. im not going to that one but i am going to cadwell on the 14th and will be my first track day as well so be interested to hear how you got on! good luck!
  10. Thanks Nixy, not sure why i couldnt find the thread on the search though! i've been to that meet before in my lotus, last time was largely disappointing turn out, no great exotics there but the list on the PH site sounds much better so will prolly head over
  11. Hi All, i've had my Z for about a month now and loving it! only issue ive discovered is when i accelerate with more than a small amount of throttle in any gear there is a rattling noise which seems to be coming from the base of the gear stick. i would say it sounds like a washer rattling around if thats possible? if i accelerate gently (not very often ) then i dont hear the rattle at all. it does it in any gear, at any speed and any rpm, the only thing that seems to affect it is the amount i push the go pedal! its a pre-face lift convertable... any ideas? Thanks Chris
  12. Hi Guys, im from York and got myself a pre-facelift convertable about a month ago and loving it so far anyone got any details on the PH Malton meet on sunday? time/location etc? Chris
