  1. so - its arrived - and..........................OMFG Managed the journey from Scotland without missing a beat according to the driver. Drove it to work - if I ignore the throbbing roar of the zorst for a minute and concentrate it seems to be perfect. Bodywork - immaculate.......he pointed out a scratch at the back when I spk to him on the phone - upon actual inspection it literally looks like a fly may of brushed it with a wing at some point - not even a T-cut job. Interior - 2 little scuffs on leather (on the bolster and disclosed at sale)......but I've got my new stash of cleaning stuff to use anyway......remainder immaculate. Service history........the bit concerning me the most. 29k on it so I was thinking - at best its going to have 3 stamps (assuming most people will work on milage rather than annual servicing)..........7 in total with 6 stamps from Nissan and the lastest one that the dealer did. Every MOT the car has ever had and a ruck of other bits I didn't have time to see. Rays look very good - little bit of kerbing but again they told be about that (also got ditch finders on it but again all disclosed). Carla wants to get them resprayed black and some point anyway so no worries. 2 owners - first one obviously an enthusiast given the servicing, 2nd was a lady who had it for 8 months (before splitting up with partner and couldn't afford it anymore). Basically............I nearly made a mess of my pants its that good. Got to give a big shout out to the garage Redpath & McLean in Edinburgh (Keith who is one of the 2 looked after me).........rare is it that a Dealer (not a Stealer in this case) appear to be as honest and genunine as these guys. Now I've got to park it up and fly off to Cuba booooooooooo I want to clean it! At least its something to offset the misery of coming home!
  2. Fair few of us from Chester area......we're getting ours tomorrow
  3. Its being dropped on off on Thursday so we get about 2 hours driving time Thursday night! Hopefully it will start when we get back - might get Carla's bro who's looking after our collection of animals to turn it over a couple of times. I should also have a nice new shiney collection of cleaning bits and bobs from Tim on my door step when I get back too........this has turned into something of an expensive month
  4. If I remember rightly Silver has been discussed before on another thread - The stick on halford 'V6' badge says it all on that one (plus its Cat D) http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=40628 Black has also been recently discussed - might be worth asking this guy why he didn't buy - http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=40997
  5. Mine`s 6 years old with 25k. But would you accept £8700 for it delivered? your making me nervous!!!.........just remember when I need cheap parts who's got your back on the other thread Alex I might call him back and pay more.........that'd make it alllllll better
  6. To be fair to Alex mate a 'Bankers Draft' can actually be quite rubbery..........hence every time you put an advert on autotrader you get bombarded with emails from various 419 scams offering to buy your car at full market value with a UK bankers draft. Bank clears the draft instantly into your account.........7 days later it bounces because its fake and your bank can't reconcile it with the other bank. The money then comes back out - by which point your car is cruising down Lagos High Street. I'm sure Alex isn't accusing you of being dodgy but at the end of the day he's in business and you just can't be too careful these days.
  7. I believe that means he hasn't read it yet. I had the same 'issue' or so I thought but apparently it sits in the outbox until its been read..............unless anyone can correct me?
  8. W.........O.........W Stunning
  9. Yeah I wasn't too sure about buying what is essentially a ginger car.........then again its the missus's car so I've not really got much say. About the only thing I put my foot down about was that she was getting a Zed........bloody Chrysler Crossfire she was squeaking about at one point!
  10. Hahah! Did I heckers! 'Fortune favours the brave' so I'm told. He's just called to say its flew through MOT, service is done (not that I'm really relying on this being a 'full' service so I might do a few bits when I get back from hols), tax is on, HPI checks and service docs are prepared, driver is eagerly studying his map and lacing up his Sparco driving shoes. Sad thing is we're going to get it for 1 day then we're naffing off to Cuba  Does anyone want to go in my place?? The Missus won't mind.......she's already taken to flirting with Martin!!
  11. Thats the one.......Cat D but only minor damage - probably just needs knocking out. To be honest even if he is lying through he teeth at least he's had the common decency to do it sneakily, from a distance and behind my back. Most of the cretin's I've visited round my neck of the woods have just the bareface cheek to tell me any old crap to make me part with my hard earned cash...........'ABS and traction controls lights jammed on.......yeaaaah......don't worry about that they'll go off in a minute'. For every idiot like me there's always a faithful customer in the making for Alex......desparately trying to rebuild the crumbling remains of an engine!
  12. If there is anything wrong with it I won't have any balls......Carla's already sharpening her scissors! Its coming with clear HPI check and he read through the Experian data with me on the phone. I hesitate to use the word genuine when referring to a dealer but he did seem like an older bloke of the 'old school' and he and another chap inspected the whole car for any marks ETC - give me a full critical run down - alloys have slight kerbing and a minor ding in the door handle. Interior is spottless and leather in top condition. Bottom line is I'm one of those 'dangerous' car buyers - to clarify - I know enough to make me think I know something and not enough to ACTUALLY know anything. Therefore any knowledge I have tends to be complete bollox anyway!! If it makes it to Chester from Scotland without any warning lights or mechanical issues (the ultimate test drive!) then I'll be as confident as I can about it. HAHA!!! And to think that a large German Bank pays me to assess risk up to £500k a pop! Suckers!!!!!!
  13. Dumb just appears to be my middle name at the moment! Previously - offered a stealer full price for a ropey god awful Zed - provided he recon'd the alloys - only to be told get knotted!!!!....... now we've just bagged up our Zed from Edinburgh.........without even seeing it. Keeping everything crossed (which is most painful!!!) until Thursday - to be fair I think we did pretty well out of it. He's said we can return it if there is anything wrong that he hasn't mentioned. Sunset, UK GT pack on a 53 plate, 29k, FSH, taxed, MOT serviced and delivered to our house for £8700. No piccies yet unfortunately as the adverts been taken down off autotrader. I think I've now officially crossed the line between taking a chance and just plain being a bit mental
  14. .............car bagged...........count us in!!!!!!!! 1/ martinmac 2/ toon chris 3/ Rothers 2901 4/ Wasso 5/ Shuck 6/ unabashed 7/ Jak 8/ The G Man 9/ Paulie 10/ Ricey
  15. I play the guitar (Badly). Got a Taylor Big Baby acoustic and a Epihone Les Paul Standard in Blue. I've never had a proper lesson...my old man is properly into his guitars - he's got a 1960 strat USA and a 1960ish Gibson SG.........which he foolishly swapped for a 1950 Les Paul Gold top custom (around abouts 30k of guitar now!!)
  16. Lol.......dude your 21 and driving a Zed!!!! Am I the only one that remembers having to drive a 1.4 (insert shed of choice) Seat Ibiza when they were 21!!!! I see where your coming from now mate - I was in the same boat......in fact I was worse. At 21 I was paying £1800 for the Ibiza (with its rocket like 60bhp)......bloody car was only worth £2k!!!
  17. Got to agree with Martin......this is the first forum I've really activly used and I did find the search facility a bit confusing at first. Hence my first post really.....'how nice are you lot'. I think you lot show so much patience with newbies - I will admit that I wouldn't actually post a question that I know will already be here....I'd of just struggled with the searches.......thats purely on the basis of not wanting to get on anyones nerves really dont worry - I know how to use it now!! I think most newbies just need poking in the right direction. That predictive search thingy Husky mentioned would be ace!!
  18. Just a quick point for everyone.......I assume you all know that if you add your missus/mother/sister onto your policy (provided they've got a decent history) it wipes hundreds off the quote? Even if they're not a main driver. Its mental.......we (will) pay £1000 for a 2008 2 litre diesel lancer with a chip on it (my car - main driver) and a Zed (missus car- main driver) - both insured on both cars. Granted we're 28 and have 2 and 4 years no claims respectivly but take the missus off and mine goes through the roof!!!! We're with Admiral too.
  19. No worries buddy....its a short notice ask for anyone. In addition - while I've got everyones attention........would you tell him to jib the service and negotiate on the price or get the service sorted and avoid the headache. I never really trust the dealer I'm buying the car off to service it properly - more of a risk they'll use naff materials and skip out important bits. I remember picking up my RX8 from Arnold Clark who proudly proclaimed that they had performed a full service on it.....shortly before I pulled out the air filter which looked like a pidgeon had been nesting in it. I'll let you off Martin.....at least chatting to you stopped her playing Call of Duty for 3 hours while I was out!
  20. Haha!...I half expected it to say 'cambelt recently changed' or some such twaddle! In fairness to the bloke I spoke to he did sound far more screwed on than most of the stealers I've spoken to. He's said he'll service it (full history but due one), MOT and have it delivered. Only downside to the conversation was the offer of £500 for our MX5!!! Eventually he went up to £1k but we've been offered 2k by 4 other garages now....sadly their Zeds were grim! We're going to try and do the deal without the PX and off load the Maz on fleabay (might even keep it until next Spring). Carla has demanded that I say hi to you from her......... something I should know about?????
  21. We may finally of found a Zed to call our own.....problem is its 200 miles away and we're going on holiday on Friday for 2 weeks! Given the 'supposed' condition, FSH and low milage of the car we might be willing to take a flyer and just buy it but it'd be nice to have one of our trusted crew go and cast a peeper over it. Your mission should you choose to take it is to visit this garage and let us know if anything is amis (ignore most of the advert - red its obviously not and its got leather not cloth!!).........this post will self destruct in 3 second.....tick....tick....tick....... http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_popup.jsp?photosOn=1&dealerid=142043&did=142043&pageid=1&modelexact=1&make=NISSAN&model=ANY&min_pr=0&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&keywords=&max_records=50&photo=0&dealersearch_full=SEARCH&start=1&distance=0&adcategory=cars&channel=DEALERPAGE&id=201036367780920
  22. I'd keep your head down if I was you.........my missus actually threatened to chop off Rene's arms and legs if he sold that car to anyone else! Sadly we couldn't shift ours in time You have one very fine motor there my friend!!!
  23. Nice tidy looking motor there mate. I want one
  24. No mate I'm from Vicars Cross apparently there is a Paul Rice from Buckley who has one of them special 'Banned from every licenced venue' orders on him so I hear. Sounds like a right charmer. I'm R111 CYY on a black lancer.....usually seen tootling along at 45 in the slow lane of the A55 in a morning. Desparately trying to prolong the journey to work.
  25. cheers dude Yep thats just highly annoyed skin! I agree it does look good with a bit of colour..........seriously though I'm done with it for a good long while. 12 hours and 12 weeks of after care has taken its toll on my sanity! Might get some more definition put in the wings in years to come - suppose colour would be a good way to freshen it up too. As an Everton fan I have a reaction to anything Red near my person like a Gremlin to water and bright lights.
