Car drove Ok from what I could tell not allowed to drive it. It went OK. Maybe I am expecting to much a lot of corrosion on wiper linkage and under the bonnet from all those M miles salt I suspect. Alloys had all been kerbed and one really bad I would have failed it on MOT myself. Exhaust was fine really neat job. Real shame guy is desperate to sell. It; looked Ok but wanted a new set of discs and pads all-round got a price locally, staggering £1K so walked away. I hope he sells it though really felt for the guy!

Nice description of my new Gold GTD 170 BHP soot chucker ( luv it) like it, its my works car . The Z would be a weekend car so not going to be high mileage. No got out of a 305 bhp Sti loved it but the lag on the turbo and the nothing nothing oh my God just got on my tits after a while. Trouble is moving from the soot chucker to the petrol engine requires some discipline on my part, as they require very different driving styles. I was not implying anyone would go and but it thought we were all winding each other up. I have nothing but respect for Z owners and this forum, way better than others I have belong to. On the whole a really nice bunch with useful and helpful advise, the site sort of matches the cars a little exclusive and bloody good !!

Hi all been searching for a car for ages and yes I am on a limited budget so been struggling to locate a decent car, sorry guys but I hate silver. Anyway advice needed please. Found a car the only trouble is it has high mileage 90K however it has a full dealer services history. W Question is should I run away keep looking or go for it. I feel the price matches the mileage and condition is excellent. Thanks guys ands girls.

Thanks guys, its been great advise as always will continue to look for a UK car then budget is around 9K which puts me just on the edge of affordability for decent stuff although the better ones are all around 11K. However as its a weekend car think I will consider slightly higher mileage ones, as this will come back to me over time. I have been told the engine is made by Renault is that true?

Hi Guys, Any thoughts advice on the following:- Manual or auto trip box? Having seen so many ragged UK spec cars that are well strong on money, considering doing an import from Japan via Bonsai. Any issues I should consider, like do Grey Imports prove difficult to sell on once you decide to change. Which model should I go for it took me a while to realise they are called Fairlady in Japan. Thinking I like the look of white, blue or Orange metallic, sounds like my budget will put me around a 3003/4 car.

I think a lot of importers gave gone to the wall in the last 12 months something to do with exchange rate! The search goes on certain something will pop up as you guys say ,shame about the import market as you say you often get more car for your money

I have checked with one importer in Southampton and not much coming in from Japan at the mo I would have to order and 3 months to wait. I wish money were no object however I do have a budget to work to so a 04 car is going to be my limit. I must have driven a bad one, as the noise was so bad I could not hear the salesman talking to me above the din. I like some engine note but not noise for the sake of it. Not overly fussed about leather as you end up slipping and sliding and burn you backside in the summer and freeze in the winter ( yes I know they are heated). What to look for in a used Z. Not keen on autos and hate silver sorry to all those who have silver cars, like the bronze and the blue and the white, however enough of that what should I look for in a used car. Looking at late 2003/4. Apart form HPI and full History anything that they suffer from. I have driven a couple with modified exhaust and I have to say guys I thought my Scooby was loud but Z do not lend them selves to mods on exhaust systems. The noise was horrendous and not pleasant at speed were as Scooby was. Anything wrong with a grey import apart from Jap documents? Any assistants or advice would be welcome before I part with my hard earned. Gary GTD ( its OK I drive a MK6 Golf)

Thanks Guys I really appreciate you all taking the time to talk to me, have to say a much better chat than some of the Scooby sites. Problem is I am 52 and wearing jeans around my ass and a baseball cap is not looking cool these days. I recently got a new Golf GTD and the drive in that is so good it made me realise what an animal the Scooby is, (oh and I can tell if its heads or tails when I drove over a penny ). I will search the dealers and try to see if I can find one to try, anything against grey imports. Must say I rather like the burnt Orange colour I have seen around, bit like marmite you either love it or hate it.

Hi was wondering if anyone on hear could offer some advice. I currently have a Subaru WRX Sti running 305bhp on a 2003 plate. Lovely car but all a bit too full on for me, and suspect licence is going to be going in the bin if I keep it. Was thinking of moving to a 350Z , which I realise is a complete change from a road going rally car to a civilised sports car. Any comments thoughts, not so many around to go and try one before I buy. I live in Somerset and nearest one is Swindon.
