I agree Dave, you can have too many, which is why Wendy stated she wants a small core and others can join and leave as they choose.
Personally, even 10-12 can be hard to keep together!
We have had 8/9 cars in Wales/Scotland and it has been perfect IMO
A shame this thread has gone a bit awry, the mods have only been pointing out the forum point of view

While I worked for Co-Op one of our drivers was filmed almost killing a cyclist and when the cyclist caught him up at light he gave the cyclist a load of abuse. All posted up on uTube and the driver was suspended but Union got involved and he was back driving after his paid 'holiday'

That's horrendous and why i say it should be reported to the police as well as his employer.
As I said earlier I think some employers turn a blind eye to that sort of thing as long as the job is done. He could also work for himself...... Report to authorities every time. Next time it could be "you" he hits head on.
Edited for terrible typing.
One of the many reasons why I left when they gave me the option, ethical company my ar$e!

Good to see so much interest from the Midlands, this could really help with route planning and lead to a great convoy there and back.
Roll on next June !!!
I think like Wales though, the more cars you get the less fun it will potentially be, all depending on the type of driving you want to do of course

Dave,
Not sure I agree with that, any forum should be open to questions and debate, just because someone doesn't agree with another's point of view is no reason to ban people or disparage their views ( friendly banter aside !)
I think if I were Wendy I would start a new thread and let this die !
Oh yes, I question lots
But for a relatively new member to start as strongly as fatrab has I can only see it ending that way unfortunately, he just doesn't seem to understand this forum, hopefully he sticks around and enjoys it

Nic, exactly as others have recently done.
It just means the event will not be officially sanctioned by the forum - Wendy is organising and Wendy is capable of choosing how this proceeds, Graham was, in my view just pointing out the forum line.
Can we get back on topic now ?
Here here, that's two Scottish drive threads now that have been derailed by a new member that obviously just seems intent in questioning everything the mods and admin do? This forum might be run differently to others and I for one am glad as it is a fantastic place.

We organise lots of Sunday drives etc on here Where lots of non zeds come along.
It would be great if this could just be an extension of those drives.
So lots of like minded petrol heads with a variety great cars come together
That's would be my ideal
Sounds great and exactly what we are doing right now, but it is NOT a forum meet. Our issue with posting routes and plans was as this is a public forum someone could copy and paste info to FaceBook etc and then who knows who would turn up. Some would be welcome and 'behave' but no doubt some idiots would turn up and completely spoil things, you just need to consider that IMO

I agree
I wouldn't make routes public
Just that id like close non zeds freinds to be able to attend
Yep exactly, without wanting loads of people you don't know and possibly would spoil the drive you have been planning for months and spent lots of your hard earned on...

Errmm !!! Thanks Dave and glrnet !!
Perhaps I should not try to set dates late at night !!!!
Its the Lakes Weekend on 25th/26th June (this I def saw on here !)- not Wales - sorry !
Think it might show I serioulsy enjoyed the Wales trip last year and can't wait for the next one. !!
I am planning the trip deliberately to cover two weekends to maximise on time.
North Oxfordshire/Midlands is a dammed long way up to Scotland !!!
Besides I would like to hope the roads would be quieter mid week.
Thanks The G Man for the offers of assistance.
Nic/ anyone else- re asking friends.
At the moment, I would prefer to keep this to the Forum, although once I have more details confirmed and numbers set from here, I will if numbers are low open it up to others. However, I would be asking one or two of my car but non Zed friends too then. Of course tell your friends so they know the dates and are prepared.
Brillomaster - yes the Beemer is allowed. How can we not let you with our regular meets !! We might have to make a cardboard box Zed to wrap around it though.
I wouldn't mind knowing a little more about the Club Insurance what it covers etc - if someone in the know would pm me please rather than clogging this thread up. Thanks.
Tha's all for now
Wendy
**Team Note**
Please be aware if this trip goes ahead with non zeds or non forum members then it will be considered to be a non forum event and as such cannot be backed or supported by the forum.
G man, no it does not mean you cannot run a thread and we are more than happy for you to do that here it simply means that this would not be classed as full forum meet attended exclusively by zed owning members.

I don't get the point of your posts here. Am I being dumb?
The OP has asked if any members want to go on a road trip. Where does "non-forum meet" or "full forum meet" come into play? As mentioned elsewhere, I've looked at other meets on this forum and don't recall this been mentioned. I'm on other forums and I've never heard this terminology used either.
It's a road trip. Not a meet. It might be a road trip with meets along the way. Who cares?
IMO you've piped up about something irrelevant that's now going to deter the conversation away from the purpose of the thread.
I know Wendy asked about the insurance but she asked for a PM. Now go back and look at the flow of the thread before and after your "TEAM NOTE". It's as if you're just trying to start an arguement.
What is your deal? Why are you coming on here and beating up on forum admin?
The rules to stick to on this forum for a reason and if they say if wont be classified as a forum meet if other cars are involved then that's the way it is.
You've got some brass balls for only being on the forum a month.
Bloke seems like a ***** to me, comes on moaning about our Hoon then complaining about posts on here....

120 mile round trip to kaizer for me. they have a comfy sofa and free wifi, i also took a book. for longer jobs they can run you to either local station and pick you up too.
didn't end up reading that much as some hoon turned up in a car that sounded like it didn't have a silencer on. then a few more forumites turned up to see what all the fuss was about. the next thing you know i'm in the middle of a mini meet

1st > 2nd was always sticky in my 350 when it was cold but once it had warmed up was fine, I had some additive put into the gearbox oil called molyslip I think which helped

If you do go to Durness, pop into Balnakeil Craft village, Cocoa Mountain do the best hot chocolate you'll ever taste. And drive along to the road end, Balnakeil Church and Beach are stunning.
Someone has mentioned hot chocolate so that might be the place, weather is more suited to a nice cold smoothy or ice cream though

June 2016 Scotland Trip
in National Events & Shows
Posted
I'm sure a mod will be able to delete all the non relevant stuff
As for car numbers, some of the best roads we have driven the last few days have had a lot of single track bits, they have loads of passing places but with lots of cars it would be an issue... like I said before all depends what kind of driving you want to do, but anyone that has done the Wales drives, then for reference this is just on another level altogether
I hope you get some genuine interest, if you find a group like ours then you will have a real blast both on and off the roads!
Oh and the food has been top notch too
