thats the thing, i have wanted one for the past 4months and i couldnt get one due to starting a new job and having to wait until the 3months probation thing was up and now that is up i could finally look properly into getting one, which i was genuinly (sp) excited about going to look at them/get one but i dont know just something in the back of my mind telling me its not worth it even though i know for a fact everytime i would of sat in it i would of smiled and forgotten all about the worries of owning it until i got out looked at it and then the thoughts would be back and tbh i cant afford to constantly drive it just to get rid of those thoughts haha. but now i have said no to going to view it i feel well moppy

well the no took over i havent gone to view it purely because i know if i went i would want it and i think once id have signed on the line i would constantly have in my mind i cant afford to use you how i would like to and it would end up an epicly expensive toy , which i would of only been using at weekends anyway so its alot of expense for hardly any use . can someone tell me i have done the right thing....

I find myself in the same situation!!! i have decided to go ahead and buy the car. it is going to drain a lot of my savings but you do indeed only live once. I think that whilst we are young and have no responsibilities, we can afford to go all out. when you have a mortgage and children thats when its time to sell! thats what i keep telling my self and my back up car of a leon fr which i was looking at has sold so even more reason to look into the zed . off to look at it tomorrow 'i think' currently 75% yes and 25% no and unfortunatly the no is getting higher as the night goes on . 2hours30mins drive to the garage that is selling it :|.

i dont need the money for anything really other than holidays and if needs be i could sell if it ever came to it but then atleast i can say i had owned it then and like you say driving it will more than make up for the lack of funds i imagine .

im now very torn on what to do dam my sensible side of me kicking in , if i bought it, it would take me nearly 3 years to resave the amount i spend on it . I can afford to buy and run it, just doesnt leave me with much savings each month. i feel like atm head says no heart says 'you only live once so go for it'

Im hoping so would be nice to meet a few of you, Id offer to organise it but i dont really know the area or where you would all like to meet that has reasonable looking backdrops. Matt

cheers, how much is the p1 service? as i was expecting that to be around the £200 and the p3 around 500 working out cheaper than i first planned .

also this isnt limited to just zeds so if anyone has any friends that want the shoot aswell you can put them down

thanks for all the replies , im hoping its a good example or then its a case of looking at nick-s (i think) red on that he his selling but his is more exp and has more miles. well focus's fit down the drive easily so this should in essence ill measure when i get home . how much is the P3 service? im sure i read a price on here the other day so will go have a look in a sec just incase people know off the top of their heads .

im a little excited , few quick things id like to clear up first though. read about something at the rear clicking - is it loud/very noticable if its occuring? also something about creaking suspension bits - again is it obvious if its creaking or something wrong with it? are there any other bits i should be wary of whilst looking around it/ test driving it? car in question is 53plate UK GT with 23k on the clock in sunset orange (unsure about serivce history as no mention of it on their site but will ask when i ring tomorrow). Just dont want to go and think ahhh i really dont know what im looking at . Now a very odd request anyone know how wide the 350 is? with wing mirrors folded out and folded in? just need to make sure it will fit down my drive otherwise it could be a pain in the a**e . a very quick summary for canon and nikon inperticular is that the fewer numbers in the name the higher it is up the scale , as for which you should get for your budget you could get the entry level canon or nikons or new or go for second hand off somewhere like talkphotography and get the middle of the bunch. my best bit of advice tbh is go to somewhere like jessops and actually get the mrs to hold/try the cameras as the cameras themselves whether they are nikon or canon at virtually the same just feel and work differently so its which ever suits her. im a canon man just because at the time of my first camera it felt nicer and now im used to the menu plus have loads of canon accesories so didnt swap to nikon when i changed my camera although i would of considered it. sony and olympus imo dont have the range of lenses available that canon and nikon do as they seem to dominate the dslr market imo, although sony and olympus are getting there .

welcome to the forum im from midlands too dont actually own a zed yet although hopefully will very very soon.

I used to work for a firm of accountants (not going to recommend them though as they made me redundant , ) although they did me a mahoosive favour as im now in a much better job , if you have any questions i can try and help you as much as i can .

haha exactly the same situation as me, had 2 or 3 people on my facebook buy one over the past 4months (one of which is selling it atm - gervais off here) which keeps tempting me but i cant buy one yet until i know i have a contract at work which... im hoping is thursday in which case its car shopping at the weekend *fingers crossed* even know exactly which one i want although if that goes i do have a few back ups .

Hi all, Tarmac has asked me in my thread if i will do a group buy on shoots so it saves on my travelling costs and means its a bit cheaper for you all as you wont have to pay me individually to travel . now it will still be my normal October offer which can be seen here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=41961&p=624329#p624329 I will need a list of 5-6 cars per meet as it will take around 40-60mins per car i imagine depends on what you want etc. I am prepared to do a number of meets but i will leave the groups to decide where they would like the meet to take place and i will the work out the price per person for the shoots . hopefully this will work up a bit of interest. im thinking the pipe is the best idea tbh duct tape is a mahoosive no no trusting it with my camera let alone someones car . craigtt yeah im thinking of getting a curtain pole and butchering that as that should fit inside (will test size with one at home first though )

even more crazy are the people who let me use it but should be awesome , would buy one but the only decent looking one is $900 and then shipping costs would cost more than its worth .
