  1. Right - I think I'm in a position to help you a bit now, having fiddled around in the Display Settings screen earlier today (in an effort to help you) and cocked it up, giving me a similar problem to you!

My problem was that I accidentally set it to Night Mode - even when the headlights were switched off - and for quite a while I didn't manage to set it back to 'auto'.

My best advice is as follows...

    1. Make sure your headlights are switched off.

    2. Go to Settings > Display > Background Colour

3.Toggle the Day/Night button until you get the 'daytime' image in the small preview screen.

Try that - If it doesn't work first time, keep fiddling with different settings in that particular menu, because eventually you'll hit on the correct setting.

I managed it - and my satnav now switches to the 'night screen' again, every time I switch the headlights on.

The reassuring thing is that your satnav isn't faulty and it is able to toggle between Day & Night - you just haven't got it on the correct setting yet. Someone's clearly fiddled with it in the past, beacuse you aren't currently on the default setting.

If you get really desperate, you could always try hitting the 'default' button, as follows...

Settings > Navigation > Reset All Navigation Settings to Default > press Enter > select Yes > press Enter.

This won't delete your memory items, such as stored destinations.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for that mate B)

I had a play about earlier on and got it to go to night colour, but only when my lights were off. If I then put my lights on it stays on night colours, so at least I know now I can get it on that way. I will have a further play about later to see if I can get it to do it automatically!

  2. Does anybody have any idea how to change the sat nav maps page from Day colours to night colours? I can turn the brightness down at night time, but it is still day colours. I have played about with it a few times and couldn't locate it in the settings. Feel like a plonker having to ask this

Tried to google this because I can't find the manual but all I was able to find was one for the basic connect system.

  3. Bump :D

I will be buying a new around august, decided to do some other stuff before one of these hence why I havent got one yet.

Its a long shot as I missed out on one last month, but if anybody is planning to sell theirs please PM me.

  4. There is a guy where i live who i believe is on the forum (Chan) who told me his 370z is 380bhp. He has HFCs, invidia exhaust and stillen Gen3 intake and got it mapped in leeds somewhere. He said the guy that did it was surprised and its the best gains he has seen from those mods.

  5. The camera gets its power from the Connect premium system, I will find out later if ther is power going to it when car is off. My car is 3yrs and 4 months old.

And yeah, car has sat for weeks at a time and didn't die before I fitted it. It's all pointing to the camera but why would that continue to stop me getting my door open? I've got just under 14V when car is running which is ok

  6. Sound like one of the bars may have come off inside the door on the handle / lock assembly. Is the camera definitely not on a constant live as that may be our drain.

New bat first then go from there

If you need and 370z parts I have complete doors wit all parts

I'm going to try check this out tonight, but I wouldn't have thought it was a constant live. I'm not so sure it can be a physical part broken? If so, why did it start working again after not working the 1st time? Seems odd. I tried an ECU reset which never helped matters.

  7. I work offshore and have come home last 2 trips to my zed being flat.

First time I was away for almost 3 weeks and it was as flat as a pancake, tried opening it with the key that pops out and this did nothing. Had to get green flag to wedge open the window and put a hook in to pop the bonnet just to get it open so he could use his booster and I could open the car. The central locking unlocked the passenger door and boot but not the drivers door. However after a couple hours the drivers door could be opened again and I thought nothing of it again.

I just got back on Tuesday after being away for two weeks and the car was dead again! However this time the central locking worked but could not start the engine. I got my work mate to help and using jump leads got it going. This time though my driver door is not opening. That's been since Tuesday (4 days). I've also noticed this time that when I have my lights on and turn the car off they won't go off automatically like they usually do. Something bizarre going on!

I have recently fitted a reversing camera to my car, it's fed from the connect premium unit, I can't see this being the problem but it's a bit of a coincidence. Has this happened to anybody else? It's embarrassing having to climb in and out the passenger door.

Before I go out and buy a new battery or actuator for the door I thought I'd ask on here if anyone had a clue what's going on. Any help appreciated

  8. Long shot, but I have seen a few members selling them before. Just want to try my luck for a good condition used one. Not overly keen on importing from the US, but I'd rather do it than pay over £500 for one from UK seller.

Get in touch if you have one, or plan to have one available in the next wee while.

  9. nice one B) and a bargain :teeth:

Certainly is, for £20 I'm happy with it! The picture quality is more than good enough. I saw pics of the Kenwood one and I see what you mean it definitely has a wider view though. It's the ease of fitting that made me want this one tho. It's made for the space the reg light comes out of and then the bulb holder twists perfect into the slot that's on on camera for it.

  10. I got the kenwood cmos 210, more expensive but no complaints, excellent in the day and night

I still havent managed to get the angle where I want it and the lines on the ground properly, used the settings off the usa site

I enabled the camera in the hidden settings on display. The camera is compatible with the lines set on the system as default so I had nothing to set up it took 30 seconds to enable it. It's the exact same lines as the ones that were in the Infiniti G37 courtesy car I had. The camera is just as good in quality also.

is it actually set up ? do the lines curve to show you the direction of travel when you are altering the steering ? cheers Paul

pics in this thread as its difficult to explain.. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/69820-some-new-modsreversing-camera-and-kick-plates/

I set it up with the figures from the US guide. It worked nicely but the camera came with those guidelines so I've turned them off and using those ones at the moment. It looked stupid with both on. They still do the job though, just don't move with the steering!

I've contacted the eBay user and asked to swap for the one without the lines, until it's replaced I'm pretty chuffed with these in the meantime.

  12. I fitted a reversing camera to my connect premium system today, took around 3 hours to complete. I planned to take pictures and put up a guide but the weather wasn't particularly great.

I got my camera from eBay user: stephenhong2009. It was only £20 (you may need to contact him for one as I believe he can't advertise them for sale anymore due to copyright issues). It slots exactly into the space where the reg plate light is. The bulb comes comes out and again, slots perfectly into the space provided on the camera. The camera itself peaks down and is almost invisible. I got the wiring loom from a guy who's good with electronics for only £60. It does the exact same thing as the expensive one from the USA.

Stripping down the boot and the dash is the most time consuming bit. I would advise taking your time with this as I got a bit frustrated with the weather and I managed to crack a part of the plastic in the boot not realising another clip had to be detached.

For carrying out the job I'd say all you need is:

    2 x small flat screwdrivers

1 x medium sized Philips screwdriver

    1 x wire cutters

    Bag of cable ties

A snake (I used cat5 cable to feed through the cabling).

Very happy with how clear the camera is. I'll put up a pic of day and night view tomorrow along with how it actually looks on the car. Any questions about this I'm happy to help out!
