    Gearbox '04 up

Its always been noisy when coming off the clutch, which would suggest input shaft bearing to me. Which is also a known weak point on these '03 box's IIRC? Since fitting the Exedy Stage 2 last weekend, which bites fairly hard the noise has gotten progressively worse, then last night it really got bad. Seems to be in the lower gears although didnt want to take it into the higher gears. Ive had a box rebuilt before and it ended up being an expensive option as it wasn't done right in the first place and was never perfect thereafter. Especially with the upcoming S/C upgrade cash at the moment is going to be an issue. Plus time is an issue, I can swap a box out in a Saturday morning. I can't afford to have the car off the road for a week or two to have it rebuilt. ZMANALEX I think ill be buying from you after next weekend if the guarantee will still run after my SC conversion also...?

    Gearbox '04 up

I think the race clutch and 2 way diff have finally rattled my box to bits. Its a dodgy '03 one and has become real noisy this weekend. So does anyone have a good non '03 box for a nice price?? Cheers Will
  6. So fitted up my Exedy Stage II clutch and XTD 6Kg flywheel today. Was pretty straight forward. Took pics when I remembered! Gearbox off! Its pretty monstrous! Pulled the old clutch and flywheel off, shame really as there was plenty of meat on the old clutch. The old flywheel weighed a ton, so this new one should make a nice difference New clutch release bearing pressed on. Cleaned out the inside of the gearbox, loads of clutch dust!!! Thats as far as I got with the pics as I was running out of time, but its all sorted. Clutch is in, engine definatly rev's up quicker and the clutch bites hard! Gonna take a little getting used too
  7. Sorry fitted all this today! Thread can be closed thanks
  8. Couldn't say, but will be a good chunk over standard which is about 400hp on a standard clutch. I've driven on these clutches before they're very well behaved, the bite is just a little sharper but the pedal isn't noticeably stiffer. Edit:- Just found this, they can handle up to 342ft/lbs WTQ. Compared to standard 224ft/lbs at the wheels.

  11. They are a straight swap and you should see a mild power gain, not sure how much it would be though. Id imagine 10hp at best without a tune.
  12. Got these going as I dont need them anymore. Bought them brand new, just have never got around to fitting them. Looking for £70 collected (Tidworth, or Orpington on weekends) or £85 Posted due to weight!
  13. Are these being produced yet? Are there any issues with the quality of the metal? Research on these HKS clones has shown that they are not proper stainless and will rot pretty quickly... If these issues have been resolved id be interested
  14. Stuck a deposit down on IAN's kit so this can be closed if needed thank you
  15. Dont need this in a drift car! Perfect working order, came out of my '03 35,000km car - up for grabs and cheap! £90 collected (orpington, kent) or £100 delivered. Cheers Will
  16. Ah right, well that sucks!! Yeh its very tight to the diff, im thinking off heating it up and bending it slightly, something is rattling back there but I dont think it's the diff - could be though! Its very loud in the back with the carbon boot and all trim removed!
  17. Hmmm, in what way did the cans give up TADDY? Rust? If thats the case I may just fabricate some side exit exhausts that either exit just infront or behind the rear wheels Hopefully going to get over to Santa Pod again in February, and hit as many other places as I can though. Im looking at fitting a rollcage and going for BDC come 2012 but thats a long way off
  18. Thank you for the kind words matey, makes it even more worth while Im mega excited about the prospect of buying this supercharger! Just put in a loan application with the bank!
  19. Ugh god!! PM'd!!! I dont want this.... I NEED IT!
