  1. No, you don't understand: You asked him for his details and he ignored you and drove off.

Get the photos on the PC, right click and select properties. Far right tab IIRC, the time and date and loads of other stuff will be on there.

I dont think its a good idea to twist what i said

  2. Hi, I've recently got a 2003 GT and I have that base part (cradle?) with the cable coming out of it built-in to the same compartment but I don't have the Bluetooth adapter  After Googling the part number I can see from your image, I didn't get many results. Does anyone know where I can get it from?

    Cheers.

Fleabay or try for sale section here

  3. There will be timestamps on the EXIF data on the photo when you took it with the phone.

Also you did ask him for details and he simply ignored you and drove off, remember?

It was taken with my iphone so im not sure mate

And no I didn't ask him for the details, felt rushed, it was heavy raining was just trying to focus on taking pictures and looking for damage on my bumper, couldn't see any so i headed back to my car, when I opened the door and got back in he started moving off.

... thinking back i wish i had taken even more time about the whole thing

  4. Hell get a whiplash claim in as well, takes 2 years or so, but you cant knock 3 grand for nothing. ;)

I know that comment is almost certainly a joke, but some people do think like that, and all it does is push everybody's insurance up.

Good luck with getting the police / insurance sorting it out, not sure I would have been so polite if someone rolled into the back of me and then told me to get back in my f****** car !!!!

If i had said/done what i wanted, id be the one in trouble not him, keeping a cool head gets you ahead in the end

  5. You have now done the right thing and reported it. It will be for him to satify any enquiries why he didnt think there was any damage.

Your earlier post stated that you took photos of the damage at the time. From a evidence point of view do the photos have a time and date on them and does it show the dmage IE any scuff marks or paint residue from the offending car.

Please take a look at the pictures on page 1, unfortunately there are no time stamps on the photos, but i have decided to go ahead and make the claim as its not fair I shouldn't have to pay for damage to my vehicle if it was done unfairly, the damage is minor and no paint was scuffed off, but a small dig has been left on my bumper

The position of the damage matches up correctly to the picture i took of the vehicle positioning behind me

  6. Im going to be very clear when handing in the 206 form (self-report) i just filled out, I will make sure I told the officer I didn't actually ask for their details but I felt very rushed and he was using abusive language I.E "what are you doing you idiot?" , it was raining and he stated there is no damage so he got back in his car and waited for me to me to head back in to my vehicle and then left. which is what happened.

  7. Firstly before even contemplating making a claim Have you reported this to the police? The insurance company will only ask. You have a duty to report the accident to the police if any of the following apply.

Owing to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle on a raod or any other public place and accident occurs by which, Damage is caused to another vehicle other than that vehicle or trailer. The driver must stop and report it and if so required to do by any person having reasonable grounds for requiring it. Give there name and address, the owners name and address and regisration number of the vehicle.

The above is required and if anyone fails to do so at the time they must do so at a police station or police officer as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case within 24 hours.

There is a specific offence under sec 140(4) RTA 1988 where it is an offence for a driver of a mechanically propelled vehicle to fail to report to accident to the police if they fail to give their name and address.

So if the T xxxxx er hasnt done any of the above and you are still contemplating an insurance claim cover your back.

So ring the police station right now and tell them about it?

  8. They're right mate, it is an offence to leave the scene of an accident without providing your details.

Of course if you drove off first then it could be argued that you were the one to leave.

He got back in to his car first and as soon as he had an oppotunity to leave, he did so.

  9. he drove off from the scene of an accident without giving you his details :teeth: its not your responsibility to make sure he does that, its his ;) he's in trouble :yahoo:

set the dogs on him

To the police office with you!!!!!!!!

    you 100% on that?

I dont want to go to the police unless im 100% sure im correct in going to them?

  10. I know his reg but i thought when i took that pic the reg came out ok it reads bk07lzm - honda - i checked it on the dvla website and its correct.

I would make the claim then, might take a while for your insurer to sort out. And correct me if I'm wrong but is it not an offence to disappear without exchanging details when an accident occurs on a public road?

Problem is i didnt ask for his details like an idiot thinking there was no damage only now that its dry i can see it

  11. if you've got his details then make a claim. Even the smallest bit of damage would p**s me off.

It sounds like he's going to deny any damage though but the pictures you have should help. Have you got a clearer on that shows his registration?

I know his reg but i thought when i took that pic the reg came out ok it reads bk07lzm - honda - i checked it on the dvla website and its correct.

  12. Correct me if im wrong, but he will only loose his no claims if HE claims for his own damage.

You sound like you let him away too easily. I hope you took down his registration number? Normaly I try to get that, name, phone number, name of insurance company.

If the damage is there, claim him

You lose your no claims if the accident is your fault and your insurer has to pay out

  13. Sat in the traffic yesterday 3 cars or so away from the traffic lights completely stationary on a slight hill going downwards... the all of a sudden a hear and feel a thud!

First thing that goes through my mind is oh great!

So i unlock the door and get out, before i even put my first leg out the door i hear "what the **** are you doing, you idiot!"

I reply "what the **** are you doing, you just went in to the back of me!"

I get out my iphone take a couple of pics, whilst taking them he goes "what are you taking pictures for? there is no damage!"

(its pouring down with rain in a traffic que at the lights)

So i say "dont use language like that please" (trying to stop myself from punching the idiot)

He knows its his fault but is swearing at me like a bafoon!

He says "get back in the bloody car"

i said "no this is a bloody expensive car you idiot"

he gets back in his car and then i get back in mine and then as soon as he can drives off, didnt get his number and he was very rude when he knew it was his fault!

How the **** can i go backwards up a hill in to him is not possible unless i put her in reverse! she was in 1st with clutch down and break on, ready to move off!

Lucky for him it was very minor damage, so here are the pics... what should i do? claim and face the trouble ahead for such small damage, im quite pi**ed off by his attitude... he deserves to lose his no claims?:rant::angry::bang:

  14. the only touch screen phone i ever liked has been the iphone with its "capacitive" screen.... i wouldnt get any touch screen phone unless it is "capacitive" all the other types are crap as you say!

Whatever you do, do not buy a resistive touch screen! Period! any phone no matter how good the software is, it will make you go crazy!

  15. i guess your all right, it just seems such a shame to put so many miles on the Z which when i bought had 13k on it

i may consider getting an old banger though, which does have its advantages I.E dont worry about parking it up in car parks or getting hit in a crash etc...

and alessandro its not that bad in london unless your in central london, plus i know all the backroad routes :teeth:

  16. I feel as if after only 2 and a half months of Z ownership im overusing the car racking up just over 3000 miles.... (i had a 1 month holiday in this period too!!!!)

Its not the fuel or service costs that bother me, i dont want to have a Z with 100k miles before i know it!

So i thought hey perhaps i should cut back on the Z driving pointlessly in to work with it and back just use it as a weekender...

HMM... school kids playing music on thier phone... bus, train or Z?

  17. i spend at least £50 a week on fuel, and i mean at least! and every quater get around £4, just upgraded to V-power card so should help, you also get the 300 point voucher thingy watsits to!

I spent at least double that at present :scare:
