  1. LOL it's just obvious where all becoming a namby pamby nanny state, next everything will be covered in pillows!

I'm all for the pillows, numerous times I've thought about sleeping at my desk in work, covered in pillows will be no problem!

  2. I just bought these off Cragus, but a slight oversight on my part means they won't fit my alloys. Basically the 'hubcentric' part of the spacer is a little too big so it doesn't sit flush. The outside diameter of the 'hubcentric' part is 71mm. The spacers are in excellent condition, all nuts lovely and the threads are perfect. Just want what I paid for them £50 delivered (failing that I'll swap with someone who has 20mm spacers that have no 'hubcentric' part. Here's a pic:

  3. 'summer tyres' - there is my point. I doubt I would consider the Bridgestones at all, even if the alloys come with them as standard. Fair enough if we lived in a country where it was sunny for more than a week, but in reality it isn't, and they're not very well suited to our roads, great in dry weather but terrible in wet weather. As for going for 275's as opposed to 285's. I can get a very good deal on the 275's but not the 285's.

  4. Just test fitted these to the car, I couldn't lower it all the way as I didn't want to mark the alloys but it gave me a good idea of what they'd look like even if the car was sitting a little high on the jack.

I got pics of the alloys vs the standard ones to show the width difference:

Rear clearance is lovely and once the tyres are on should sit very nicely, I'm just impatient and wanted to see the colour against the car. The fronts require a 20mm spacer to clear the caliper but other than that they should give a great stance when mounted properly with tyres!

Please excuse the pics, I know they're not great, that damn flash shoes up my dirty arches, I'll be sure to get a pressure washer on them next time.

  5. Anyone have any on here that they don't need anymore? Failing that a recommendation on which ones to go for? I only need a pair of 20mm spacers for the front wheels, thanks :)

  6. What model is the car with the merc wheels in your piccys ?

That's a C320 CDI. I haven't fitted them yet, going to get the tyres this week, although I may be tempted to pop one on tonight just to see how they fill out the arches, if I do I'll post a pic. The arches don't require any modifications but I think I'll need spacers on the front due to the offset, I'll see when I test fit one tonight.

  7. Cheers for the comments guys, they should look good on the black car. They are GTR alloys, off a black edition, amazingly light for 20's, 10.5's on the rear just need to get the tyres now.

  8. The Rotas are very poor copies of the Work rims. And for that reason I'm out! ;)

Oh, and I don't think Kev's old Zed looked chavvy - far from it, it looked amazing in the flesh. B)

Lets not get started on scrotas! Especially when the Zed's come as standard with forged Rays, you either go better or don't bother in my opinion.

Lol mate rays are fugly either of these wheels would be an improvement in my eyes

You're missing my point. It's a matter of personal preference on the appearance of the alloys. I personally think they look pretty good for standard alloys. What I'm getting at is the fact that Rays aren't just any BS sold by some 'performance modifications' shop. They're forged for starters, whereas Rotas are usually cast. There's a very good reason Rays make the alloys used on F1 cars and the such. Why throw away your Rays for some inferior alloys? I know I'd never settle for less. And Works alloys being Chav?!

  9. mine doesn't have a nissan badge on it anywhere, so people always ask me what it is, and i always say its a 350Z

But I bet you'll find one under the bonnet, along with a Renault one  but seriously, the Datsun joke? We should all know our car's came from Datsuns, 240z are sweet :D

So next time how could you possibly get irritated by someone calling it a Datsun?

  11. I run 20 x 10 (25 offset) on the rear with a 285 x 30 R20 tyre. Mine is lowered on Eibachs (approx 28mm) with no rubbing on the standard arches in any situation I've faced.

The stance is pretty good in my opinion.

Stew, mind posting a pic? I'm interested to see the comparison between the standard ride height and lowered.
