  1. Just an update. Had a foot of snow on the car and driveway this morning. Wiped it off the front and rear windows, started the car and off I went to work without any problems. Started snowing heavy in Leeds early morning so the buses were stopping at lunch time. Everyone, and i mean everyone in Leeds centre decided to leave work early and head home before it got too deep for people to be able to move. Took my partner 2 hours to get home in her Ford KA because of traffic, took me 20 minutes because I took short cuts up the roads that most cars wouldn't be able to manage or people were too scared to use Good old Scooby PS. here I am playing in the snow last night
  2. is that how it is... well i managed to use my sledge this year. wouldn't fit in the zeds sorry excuse for a boot last year, not that it mattered because the snow was deeper than the ground clearance on a serious note though. loved the 350z and found it really hard to find an alternative that was a little more economical without losing the power. scooby is pushing 400bhp and still gets 28mpg around town, never managed to get the zed above 21mpg and that only ran 276bhp. Zed even hit single figures on a proper run only problem is that i now have to refuse to give people lifts rather than them not asking
  3. should have got a scooby. 28-30MPG with more power, seats and boot space. plus 4WD i looked at a john cooper special but they use a lot of fuel especially since you have to drive them that bit harder due to the power drop. even driving eco they're not too great especially if you get the older one with the turbo. think the newer supercharged ones are a little better.
  4. How're all the 350z's enjoying the snow. I remember having to push mine many times last year but I don't appear to be having any problems with my new car
  5. GONE.... PART EX I have a 2005 340bhp Impreza STI now.
  6. Thanks I have made some amendments including adding new pictures and a few videos that people may appreciate.
  7. Hi there. I just wanted to get your opinions on the price. I'm relatively new to the whole selling cars privately thing. I've had it advertised in various places for about a week now with NO enquiries at all. Just wondered if I'm expecting too much or if it's just low demand for this type of car? I thought the pricing was reasonable but maybe I'm wrong, good to hear your opinions. Don't worry about insulting, thick skinned. Thanks Chris
  8. Cash required for a house deposit which is my reason for sale. Partners forcing the sale otherwise I'd keep. ** REDUCED ** - £11,500 - Members only - £11,995 for anyone else 2005 55reg Blade Silver 350z GT Coupe (UK Spec) - £11,500 > 44,000 miles > GT Spec so usual Black leather seats, Rays alloys, Brembos, Cruise control etc... > FSH mainly Nissan dealers with all paperwork > Full Service (K&N Oil filter, Pipercross panel air intake & Platinum plugs all replaced plus oil obviously) & MOT completed late January 2010 > Front tyres replaced for Bridgestones April 2010 so barely used (only 1500 miles) > Rear tyres replaced for Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta at beginning of July 2010 (400 miles ago) > Front brake pads replaced for Brembo uprated pads at beginning of July 2010 (again 400 miles ago) > Rear brake pads replaced for EBC Red Stuff yesterday 27th July > All paperwork and 3 keys, 2 electronic and one emergency key > Official 350z splash guards fitted by Nissan November 2010, see pictures Passenger side front alloy has a minor scuff from before the tyre was replaced. I have factored the repair of the alloy into the price. I can get it repaired prior to you collecting the car if you like but you will need to cover the cost (approx £50). This is an unmolested example in amazing condition. Should be priced nearer £13k but I don't mind if it's going to a good home especially if it's a club member. Pictures and Videos below Pictures - including front and rear tyre tread Videos Starting The Zed Up Walkaround My Zed Virtual Test Drive (of sorts)
  9. Worth mentioning that because of tax and national insurance. If you're a 20% tax payer you'd need to earn £6403 to cover the £4580 after tax and national insurance. If you're a 40% tax payer you'd need to earn £8311 to cover the £4580. Chris WTF!!!!!!! So my Z costs me £18,000 in untaxed income?? Around that mark. Glad I didn't work mine out before I bought it. Like my misses says "If you can't afford it just get a better job", womens logic. By the way, how's the Blueflame? Any louder than stock with HFCs? Looking for something louder with good gains but not as loud as the K1s or Buddy Clubs. Chris
  10. Worth mentioning that because of tax and national insurance. If you're a 20% tax payer you'd need to earn £6403 to cover the £4580 after tax and national insurance. If you're a 40% tax payer you'd need to earn £8311 to cover the £4580. Chris
  11. Insurance: £700 annually with Roadside Assistance Tax: £245 annually MOT: £35 annually (mate in the business does it cheap) Service Parts: £100 annually (free labour) 2ish sets of rear tyres annually: £500 1 set of front tyres every 2 years: £240 Petrol: £240 monthly (20-21mpg) Yearly it costs £4580 to run plus depreciation on top Chris
  12. yes i've spotted a lot of his posts during my searching but i don't think he's anywhere near me. his posts seem a little biased, sounds like he enjoys his ears bleeding with the sound. Chris
  13. thanks for the response. have spoken to a few people and spent the majority of my working day searching the forum. i think the buddy club is going to be uncomfortably loud day to day. puts my plans back but i guess i'll have to wait another couple of pay days so i can get a nismo exhaust and berks hfcs, they sound good as a combo. nismo with standard cats doesn't sound loud enough. cheers chris
  14. Has anyone around the Leeds area got a Buddy Club exhaust fitted that I could come and see? There aren't a lot of vids on the internet for this exhaust and ideally I want to know what it sounds like when cruising on the motorway in the cab which there are no videos for. Funky Power have it for £634 delivered but I really need to hear one properly first otherwise I could end up buying something I couldn't live with. Also I have seen a comment somewhere about having to remove the original heat shields for it to fit, I won't pretend to know anything so could someone clarify this for me? Can the UK standard just be swapped for the buddy club? Chris
  15. little late on this. i use Lee in the body shop at station road motors in Kippax just outside Leeds. He sprayed and fitted my mug guards. charges £30 per hours. Station Rd Ind Est/Station Rd Leeds LS257QH 0113 270 8500
  16. you must have coasted down a 40mile long hill. 20.7mpg over last 250miles, that's just around the town driving. can't help accelerating between the city centre buildings, sounds amazing.
  17. sorry you're right. not had much exposure to the user end of the tech, i tend to only deal with the core infrastructure and not for BT. i know it means a new modem and hub, also that infinity is great if the street cab is located outside your home. speed deteriorates far quicker than normal ADSL so you can go from 40Mb availability to 2Mb within 3-4000ft. no virgin near me otherwise we would have gone down that route.
  18. How on earth did you manage that?! I thought I had fairly high usage (40-50GB per month) as I stream loads of video through iPlayer HD, SeeSaw and TVCatchup, but 100GB in 2 weeks is impressive One word - pr0n - and lots of it it's not even worth contemplating the friction burns that must cause... those american tv episodes are all on HD now and I prefer to download stuff from iplayer because they have most things in HD too. very quickly get through 100GB. no pron... downloaded at least the misses can always find it.
  19. i'll be getting the geometry checked tomorrow when they fit the vredistiens and my mud guards. they just above legal limit of 1.6mm now so going to keep them to use on a local airfield for practise, just need to find a way of sneaking onto it again. spent a lot of time intentionally going sideways during the snow period but that was on ice and compacted snow so i hadn't expected it to have too big an impact. will run the new tyres over summer and post the results... hopefully won't be postng for a while though, can do with not paying out £260 for tyres ever 5 months.
  20. GAP insurance can be a con if bought via the finance company. You can buy GAP insurance independantly a lot cheaper than what the finance companies sell. Check around, could save you hundreds.
  21. great i'll have to get my step dad to sort it while he's fitting the new tyres, got a long trip from Leeds to Cardiff in a week so I'll need it on top form.
  22. We have unrestricted internet at work but I would never trust it. As part of my job I have to check what employees of our customers have been doing on the internet so I know the extent of the information that can be extracted from ISAs and other internet monitoring software. While it is unrestricted I am always aware that if your manager or the company wants to get rid of you they will dig. I have a machine at home which is always on. I use a secure VPN to connect to my machine and from there I can go where ever without any trace. OpenVPN is completely free and secure. Chris
  23. Bloody Bridgestones need replacing after only 5 months and 5000 miles. Fronts have next to no wear but that's to be expected. Do other members rear tyres wear more on the outer edge than the inner? I have 1.8mm left on the outer edge and over 3mm on inner edge of both. Going for the vredestein ultrac sessanta this time round and picking up a set of winter vredesteins in advanced. Chris
  24. Your phone socket has two pairs of copper wires in it. ADSL and conventional voice use one pair, with ADSL2 they connect the other pair at the exchange side and you have to get a new router that can use both pairs. ADSL2+ uses both pairs on a higher frequency (1.1Mhz to 2.2Mhz) which doubles the speed. BTs new product is Infinity which means they run a Fibre cable from your nearest street cabinet to your house which can achieve upto 40Mb. Only problem with BT is that the faster your connection the quicker you reach the 100GB fair policy limit. They didn't tell me it was only 100GB when I bought the unlimited package, hit 100GB within 2 weeks so now for the next 30 days they have restricted my internet to 1Mb between 5PM and Midnight. Still get full speed out of those hours.
  25. I use iii.co.uk but I don't go for the spreadbetting or any of the other CFDs. I find spreadbetting to be much the same as a share tracking bank account. CFDs are dangerous, they allow you to play with large value shares with you only having to put down part of the money. It lets you play with money you don't have so if you can only afford say £1000 they would let you deal in over £10000 worth of shares. If those shares lost more than 10% you would lose all your investment plus end up oweing the share broker the difference, BAD idea. I just deal with what I have. I hold safe (more safe than other) and risky shares to the ratio of about 5:1 Currently holding: BP from £5.76 now £6.32 VOD from £1.38 now £1.51 SBRY from £1.30 now £1.32 CW (work for this company so they give me one share for every share I buy) from £various now £0.92 - company split a week ago so now own CWC as well ROC from £0.07 now £0.32 VOG from £0.052 now £0.043 Some profits in there. Plus most paying dividends with a yield above what I would get in the bank (6-9%) Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, you can make upto £10k profit from shares in a tax year without paying any capitol gains
