let her drive it and if she does any damage then say sorry love, thats it.

the only way she will get to drive it better............ is to drive it.

my mrs drives my 370z everyday. and she does a good job.

get her to put some fuel in it as a return.

but......... if your still not comfortable then tell her to do one and face the consequence.

as i know u live close to me, there is a place in croydon that were pretty good and sorted out my scorpion. (cant remember the name but will find out.)

also there is a VERY small indy in mitcham, near the green. he's called Keith and is a grumpy sod but good at his job. he will fit you in im sure. has ramps and has worked on my mates Zed. he sorted my Mrs clio and was good. again i will find out the name and tel number for you.

Forgive my ignorance but the GT doesnt come with iPod intergration as standard?

Cars post 59 have the 'uprated' touch screen connect premium. Older cars dont. They dont have the USB connection for the ipod.

I think the GT has connect premium as standard. On the newer cars.

To my knowledge no one on this forum has replaced the standard unit in the 370z as its pretty good.

The screen will become useless. Unless you can get an interface.

Just replacing the radio part (bottom bit) will be Ok. As with the 350z the top screen becomes almost redundant for playing music through and you will be left with two separate systems. The oem and the aftermarket one.

Top screen for sat nav

Bottom screen for music.

Yeah, its a clarion unit. But with bose stamped on it.

The only problem with using another head unit from another car is that they are married to the ecu. This means they have to be "divorced" and remarried.

I can do the aux hack for you. Its a 3.5 jack. (like on headphones) that is soldered into the pcb. Its a good alternative but not always fool-proof. Just need the cable to run into the cubby.

Not done this myself, but there's some advice here and here for you.

With the standard bose there is not much you can do. Except phonecalls.

Aftermarket will give much better results.

there will be loads on the net mate, have a search on google. alpine, kenwood, pioneer are all good. however it will only replace the radio part of the system and not the screen.

why out of interest do u want an aftermarket unit?

if you have the car already the OK. but if not then buy one thats got the premium connect!

Is it a simple swap to remove the standard system and put Connect Premium in my 2009 or is it a little more involved?

i would imagine its a pain. the looms might be different. plus you would have to source all of the bits to do it. dont think in would just be a case of swapping the screen over. you might have to do the whole lot. (screen, radio HU bit ect.....) plus need to run in a USB connection into armrest.

do you have an aftermarket Head Unit???

if its just the standard bose system then no. Iphone is not supported as there is no connection for it.

on the 370z there is a USB connection in the armrest. where you plug in the Iphone/Ipod. on the later models (with Premium Connect) this gives you full control over the Music functions. it comes up on the touch screen display.

i can fit an aftermarket one for you peter if you wanted all the functionality. like BT, Ipod integration, sat nav ect.

i ran in the back of a low loader about 6 years ago. did 1500 of damage. over the coarse of the 5 years on the insurance details. it cost me 3.2k in price hikes.

only did a bit of damage too. about 500 quid if that. but alas i was young and stupid. (now just stupid)

hopefully the little buggers get what they deserve. a "friend" of mine a few years back did the same as the OPs little mates. smashed the wing mirrors off a proper nice M3. but made a proper job of it. what he didnt realise is that the bloke who owned it was a frigging syco and put him in hospital for 3 weeks!!! needless to say he was VERY sorry and paid the damage after.

its a shame that we cant all wrap up the cars in bubble wrap when we leave them.

saw one of these is wessex nissan.

looked pretty smart, and it connects directly to nissan for updates. not sure how tho. (thats what the salesman told me).

fully loaded was pretty reasonable too if i remember. great for town driving, and there are more and more of the super duper charging points around too.

as said at 82p in duty/tax. thats a frigging joke.

put super in at clackets yesterday and its at 154.9p.

Easy to remove, don't do it in situ. Will end in disaster.only one screw and then lift out.
