Seriously, Don't pay any money out of your own pocket for a solicitor. In all honesty you won't get anywhere with it in my opinion. two thirds of ALL complaints that trading standards get are for car dealers. It's been going on for years and they all still seem to be around. Go to trading standards and also approach the garage and ask them to put things right. DON'T get angry with them, they deal with angry people all the time and just laugh at them. but if you're nice as pie they might just help you out a little bit. That's the best advise i can give.

Ecu but a laptop, Obd2 cable and the right software, it would take someone 2 mins with the know how. Digital clocks are easier to do the the old style ones i think.

If it is a case of the car has definitely been clocked then you might be able to get trading standards on to it. But how do you check these things? Did you do a HPI check on the car before you bought it? If not that's what I'd do first. The aa check will check the mechanics of the car but the garage can just claim that you're an unlucky sod and these things happen, especially after 25k and 6 years or so.

Surely you can tell the mileage of the car from:- Wear on the seats, carpet, pedals, Gearknob etc. Stone chips (tiny) on windscreen. Stonechips on bumper if not resprayed. Previous MOT's? Service history? I wouldn't put too much weight on the condition of the exhaust as the car may have only done a low amount of miles but the mild steel (or tin!) of the exhaust will be rusting even as the cars sitting around. Also the back box issue is a common problem with 350's.

I had mine properly welded with a sleave. Its been purr fect for months now Cost:- £30 - £60 If you exhaust is in otherwise good condition this might be your best option as it was for me

If you must then the JWT pop charger is highly rated. I had one but decided to take it off and sell it. Went back to oem and aero duct.
