Well, I've just been shafted by the trader, so need to gather my thoughts. I'll drop you a PM but probat won't be until Fri evening now as a mental day at work tomorrow.
-
The cost to be recouped by flogging the Stillen is ear-marked to remap the 330d which will make it an absolute beast. I've had the 3.0d engine twice before (3 series saloon & X3) and it's an amazing engine but this LCI version is leagues ahead of what I had before. I've just redone the figures and seems I under-estimated the overall savings so will be making a call in the morning me thinks. The trader vastly improved the deal he previously offered which has completely turned things on its head. Fun fun fun. Still in battle with Stillen over their rusty exhaust - all good fun - probably start another thread on that at some point.
-
Mmm, saga not yet over... ...amazing what happens when you call a trader to say thank you for all your efforts but Im backing out!! We'll see though - back to the spreadsheet tonight
-
On the CC along with a new bathroom & a tonne of other housey stuff currently going on - eeck. It was turning into a cost neutral exchange but the Beemer would have saved me in the long run due to increased travelling this year. Might seem daft letting a deal slip over a relatively small amount of money but have to be realistic sometimes. Will revisit it perhaps when the sun comes out.
-
You wouldn't a thought this car would be all that rare but trust me they're like hens teeth (decent ones at least). A 330d coupe with a MANUAL 'box with all the toys that I insist on. Don't mind revealing all now that I've backed-out but there an LCI model (facelift) out there which is an amazing bargain considering its massive spec. If I were to spec a car from the factory it would be exactly like the one I've seen - that never happens!!! I'm only a few hundred quid behind but it's enough to derail the plan.
-
Too 'gone in 60 seconds' for me. As has already been mentioned, less weight would be good, and more power but without all the boy-racer clothes please. My money would be on a decent used Zed with my own chosen bits bolted under the skin for a huge saving over this. Looks better in a single colour (but all black, with hyper-black wheels, looks 100% better),

Think the time has come to remove the car from 'official' sale as I just can't get the figures to stack up against the car I'm after. Thank you to the two members of this forum who I've been in talks with in the background but unfortunately didn't quite come off (so so close though). By the time I stick my car onto AutoTrader the specific car I'm after will no doubt have been sold so I'm not going to bother as there isn't another like it available in the UK to fall back on (and hasn't been for some time ). I suppose, if any forum members are interested in my car at any point in the future, please feel free to get in touch and we can see how the land lies and whether a deal can be agreed upon. Thank you to everyone for contributing to this thread and keeping it alive . It's no hardship really when the worst that can happen is that I still drive (or slither at present) around in a fantastic 370Z Roadster

£17,750 anyone (last chance)
-
Do it - Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag's are for old folk
-
Well, at least it's getting more attention than it did before  . The only reason is that the car I've seen is the 'perfect' car for me, I've been waiting about 12 months for the exect spec to turn up (in fact, the major issue was getting it with a manual box, the v.high spec of this one is just a bonus) and is the only thing that will see me part with the Zed. They won't shift lower on the price of their car, the trade-in is woefully low (well, it's not that bad, but isn't helping the figures) so scraping a little more into the deal via the Zed means everything falls into place. Yes, OK someone could end up with a stupidly cheap Zed, but I'll get more than I've currently been offered (we both gain!), and I get this particular car. If I hold out a couple of months, and maybe get £19k, this car will be gone and more than likely nothing else will be suitable. Worth a £2k hit (£1k in reality in January)? It's horses for courses really, I'd likely end up losing much more if I waited and got £18k/£19k for the Zed, had to buy something I wasn't truly happy with, and change again quickly after. This is the price you pay for being a fussy bugger
-
You know what guys, having done some prelimanary figures, I may even accept a figure starting with £17,xxx for a quick hassle free sale which is frankly making it a bonkers raving bargain of the year (so far!!). Can't say fairer than that can I??
-
Thanks guys, I really would be sad to see it go, I absolutely love it but this year will see much bigger mileage so the Zed will start costing me an uncomfortable amount in fuel. It's not the end of the world if I keep it (oh the hardship  ) but it might get to the point where filling up constantly will wind me up more than the actual cost (that I claim back anyway) if that makes sense. It's priced very keenly, basically because of this other car I've spotted (after 12 months of searching), so need to tempt someone who might have been waiting until summer before making a purchase. I know if I wait a few months, and be patient, I'll easily get £19k for it, but then this other car won't be there. If I don't sell the Zed quickly, or if this other car sells, then I'll just hold onto the Zed and review it in summer when it's a more attractive proposition (but an even harder wretch to part with). Spread the word with anyone who may be interested as it'll only be available at this price whilst this other car is available. Oh, the only delay from my side of things is I'm yet to take my private plate off, but this usually only takes 1-2 weeks.

Firesale time - a replacement has appeared after 12 months of looking. Anyone want to make me an offer in the region of £18k (£1k under the cheapest available on AT)??? If this deal doesn't come off then I'm keeping the Zed  . Quick summary -: Gunmetal Grey (Twilight Grey technically) Black leather 12,000 miles I’m the second owner (I bought from dealer 6 months old with 2,700 on the clock) Car bought from UK Main Dealer in Northern Ireland (Shelbourne Motors) so a UK car Mainland UK V5 and will have a standard UK60 XXX style reg allocated when my private plate removed Registered – September 2010 Taxed until October 2013 Tyres – 5-6mm tread all round Service – full main dealer service history (2x Westway Nissan, Stockport) – last service October 2012 Specification - everything that comes with a GT car – touch screen sat nav, heated/cooled electric leather seats, full ipod integration, rear parking sensors, music box hard disc in dash, folding mirrors, xenons, etc. One alloy could do with a refurb, been quoted £60, just not got round to doing it
-
Yup, cheapest on AT is/was £20k (auto/red) but mine should be more desirable and on Nissan is £21.5k from memory, so trade-in figures of £17k frankly laughable (but to be expected at this time of year). Not in a huge rush to sell, still love it, but sell for a 'fair' price quicker if an offer was put on the table. We'll see, it's hardly going to lose much value between now & when the weather improves, so can be patient. Still, would stand by my price for a forum member. Obviously the Stillen is available separately (or together if the buyer wants it).
-
Little update for you - my car now is now riding on new rubber. Not brand new but bought from a trusted source so 6mm all round. OEM Bridgestones. I've now come to the conclusion that selling my car for £19,000 is virtually giving it away, yes, I know the time of year is hardly in my favour but still seems too cheap given what else is out there. Going to shortly get my alloys refurbed and try to sell privately (as in, on AT/PH/eBay, etc) and likely going to ask for a little bit more - or I know a trader who'll do it for me, so, grab yourself a bargain quickly as the price may well go up once phase 2 is put into force to bring it in line with what else is out there.

Hey, don't worry, I was saying at the time that I'll laugh later at how ridiculous it was. Just bastard frustrating at the time. As for Will and the butter, think I'll let you guys crack on with that experiment, I'll sit out if you don't mind!!!

Just a quick heads up to remind Roadster owners of the perils of keyless entry!!! Yesterday I was heading out of the office to see someone but made a fatal (slight exaggeration!) mistake. Unusually for me my keys were in my jacket pocket, popped open the boot, threw stuff in together with my jacket, closed it and drove off as usual. Arrived at my desination and went to the boot to get out my jacket, wallet & client files to find it wouldn't open. Was completely flumuxed at this point but then realised where my key was. The manual offered no help whatsoever. The only manual override requires the key (inside the fob) to be inserted behind the drivers seat but mine was obviously not available but nothing like a physical release catch inside the cabin. There is no way in at all (unlike the Coupe where you just reach back!). Also, couldn't lock the car, so was impossible to just get on with my meeting (unless we met in the car!!). Spoke to Westway Stockport who thought the only way in (bar using the spare key) was to head to the nearest dealer and see if they could hook it up to their computers and 'pop' it open. Luckily the nearest dealer was 15 minutes away which, whilst making me very late for my appointments thereafter, was nearer than going home to get the spare. Arrived at Nissan in Bolton who within a few moments delivered the keys back into my hands. Sorted. So, whilst not the end of the world, was a complete pain in the arse but luckily there was a dealer near-ish that saved the day. Being unable to access the boot or even lock the car was inconvenient to say the least. The car knew the key as 'inside' the vehicle hence allowing me to start the engine but wouldn't let me lock the car (or open the boot) due to the key still being inside. As soon as the key was extracted normal service was resumed. This was a simple mistake on my part but easily done. You have been warned. The funny thing is that I found out is that there is a mechanical override however this is inside the boot itself!!! This 'feature' is there in case you SHUT YOURSELF INSIDE THE BOOT. This is frankly stupid, if you've managed to squeeze inside the tiny boot of a Roadster, you probably wanted to be in there. Also, you'd need the manual with you, and a torch otherwise you're knackered. Pointless. I can see why there isn't a switch inside the cabin though, if you park with your hood down, someone could nick the contents of the boot quite easily.

102 miles on the clock, Christ, that's not many test drives!!! Looks great. Enjoy.

Good choice, I keep checking them out, but the new M135i would be my first choice if getting that sized car, it's an astonishing blend of pace (5.0 - 0-60), price (under £30k in basic clothes) and efficiency (can get decent mpg but obviously goes tits-up if you nail it!). Great deals to be had on one too - I was offered one with basic essential spec (nav, heater seats, etc) for £400p/m with £5k down which is about the equity in my car. That said, Im trying to keep costs down, which rules our the M-lite hence the checking out the 123d (and 330d). Enjoy your 1er, they are belting cars.
-
+1.... My 123d comes with run flats as standard and the whole chasis / suspension as been designed to work best with them. ...and it's still hard a fook . Has the Zed gone Stew or are you a multicar owner?
-
Basically +1 to comments above but, more seriously, you can't put a RFT onto an alloy wheel which was made to hold a non-RFT, but you can put a non-RFT onto an alloy made to hold a RFT. It's something to do with a 'lip' on the alloy that holds the RFT in place will also keep a non-RFT secure whereas if that lip wasn't there (like on a non-RFT style alloy) then there's nothing to hold a RFT in place so dangerous. At least this was always the explanation I understood. If you want cheaper tyres then go with something like Falken - I've had these before and have been really pleased with them.

Finally worked out my photobucket account - photos added to the opening post for convenience... Maybe I should add that I am very reluctantly looking to change me car. 2013 at work is going to be much busier and my mileage will increase quite significantly. The Zed isn't quite the right car for high mileage hence the 'for sale' add. I've been taking my wife's Qashqai on long journeys for the last 6 months but problem with this is, with two kids, it leaves her without transport for the day. Whilst my replacement doesn't need to be hugely more efficient (a little would be nice), if it had a few more seats, at least I could still take the QQ but leave a useable car behind.
-
Oops, in old Skool mode, Twilight Grey Still struggling with photos if anyone has any suggestions (never used to before forum facelift!).
-
Gunmetal with black leather. Pictures will be up shortly once my wife has stopped fannying about & can take the kids for 5 minutes Any comments on advert/price etc gratefully received. No need to poi t out that November isn't the best time to try to sell a soft top . Any comments on price are welcomed (good or bad) via PM as I'm really not sure what it's worth (apart from my quick research on t'internet). Erm, any idea why I can't upload photos?? Just trying to attach a jpeg from my desktop which are around between 250-400kb (it states no bigger than 2mb). Any thoughts??

Looking for a change, received some trade-in offers, but wondered whether their may be any takers on here?? I'd rather it go to a forum member if possible -: Nissan 370Z Roadster – GT Spec – 60 plate - Manual Sourced from Northern Ireland and brought over by me in April 2012 when my ownership started – I’m the second owner (bought with 1,700 miles on the clock). I must stress it is a UK car, supplied by UK Nissan Main Dealer (Shelbourne Motors), so not an import that some searches spring up. Original registration was AXZ 6272 but is now re-registered on the mainland with a UK V5. There is no official XXYY XXX style registration plate allocated to the car yet as my private plate went straight on. A UK style plate will be allocated once I take my plate off. Current mileage 11,000 Full P2 (major one) Service done last month – full main dealer service history Also last month a new fabric hood fitted under warranty as passenger window caught the fabric when opened and wore a hole – new hood and realigned window sorted this. The hood is as you’d imagine immaculate. Condition inside is showroom Condition outside is very good, it’s picked up a scuff on the front bumper but nothing a good buff-up wouldn’t sort out I'm sure One alloy is in need of a refurb but it really doesn’t trouble me overly so not bothered getting it done 12 months remaining manufacturer warranty Spec – everything that comes with a GT car – touch screen sat nav, heated/cooled electric leather seats, full ipod integration, rear parking sensors, music box hard disc in dash, folding mirrors, xenons, etc. I’ve just put on 12 months road tax which I was going to cash-in upon trade-in however it a bit more tricky obviously on a private sale. That said, it needs a full set of tyres, which kind of off-sets-ish the value of the remaining tax disc – I was going to stick a full set of Falkens on it (as I’ve had on many Beemers before) which are around £500 for the set. I’ve been offered decent enough trade-in figures so could let it go for £19,000. This make is one of the cheapest on Auto-Trader (amongst the 'undesirable' auto’s) and undercuts the cheapest GT car on Nissan’s website by £2,500. Let me know if you need anything else. Only delay from my side is I'm yet to remove my plate. Pics to follow (not allowing me right now!!)
