Yeah i think that's a better idea. You should be able to pick a uk one up if you have a little bit of patience. Best not to compromise your cars authenticity.
Exactly, I've counted out the idea of a bodykit and induction kit because I want to keep the car as stock as possible....what was I thinking of chucking an import rear on!!
Although I do have an exhaust in mind for my next purchase...the stock one just doesn't clean up enough!
-
Cheers guys...I was thinking of taking pics of it with the UK bumper and the damage which I could use at point of sale, but I think i'd rather keep it genuine with a UK spec bumper like you say.
There's one on ebay: clicky
It doesn't say the exact paint colour, plus I think £100 plus postage is a bit steep?
I'll send some PMs as advised

Hi all,
There's a big chip on the top of my rear bumper where the previous owner has shut the boot on something...it's bugging me now and I've tried to use some touch up paint from Paints4u which seems to come out the wrong colour even though it's KY0.
There's a silver import bumper on eBay going for a good price, but I'm wondering how easily it will fit...are there different mounting points between UK and Jap? and would I have to get a different number plate light unit??
I'd be interested in any advice!

dcash5, you have email!

Nice pics terribleone!
Does anyone know what the hell that safety car was? It was faster than most of the cars out there!!
Cheers for the compliment chap...my reaction to the saftey car was 'WTF is that!!??'...
...I still have no idea what it was!!

Cracking pics
Really like the ones of mine, please can I have the full res ones?
Dan
Cheers mate, glad you like!
If you PM me your email address, I can send higher res ones over...do you want them unedited or just higher res ones of what's on my post? I just did a bit of playing with bright/contrast/levels.
Your car is stunning btw...made me wanna sell my silver one and go blue!!

I think I passed you guys on the M4, I was passenger in my old MR2 in the MR2OC convoy and passed a lot of Zeds!
Anyway, I thought I'd post up some pics here too...enjoy!
Sun coming up on the way down, always a good sign!!
Chieveley services, nice looking Skyline:
Some convoy pics from Chievely to Chippenham:
Then the queue kicked in!!
Took the opportunity to take some random pics:
Then we finally got moving again;
Finally, some track action...absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather!!
And finally, what we all wanted to see...drift battle!! :th:

First of all post some proper pics up and a full description.
Stick a For sale post up properly.
Looks like a good example
GLWTS
Cheers chap, I will do once I've worked out what I'm going to do...I was just after some rough estimates/examples of what other people have paid for similar spec/age Zs.

Hi all, I'm thinking of selling the Z. The other half and I are going our seperate ways and I'm going to need to release some pennies to fund buying her out of the house.
Basics are; it's a 2005 (55) UK GT spec with 39k on the clock. All the extras (except sat-nav), silver and the only modifications are wheels spacers.
I'm tempted to go p/x at a dealer for a quick sale, but thought I'd post up and get a few opinions on if it's worth hanging on and going private.
I'd rather sell private, and always prefer to buy private as I know how much dealers rip you off!!
Any advice/opinons welcome, and here's a quick pic:
-
I've heard so many good reviews that I'm getting a set either; (a) when my RE040s wear out or ( when it starts getting cold again...whichever comes first!!
My Bridgestones were a little bit scary in the cold weather!!

ive got a windows phone at the moment, and NEVER again! hate the thing with a passion! my contract expires in june so ill be going for an iphone then!
Ditto...an HTC Touch HD...until I left it in a taxi the other week!!
Best thing I could've done really, it was good to have a phone nobody else had...but it was pretty useless except for checking emails and using as an MP3 player.
I've picked up a cheapie Tocco Lite now until I decide which route to go next. I'm thinking Sony Ericsson Satio, it has WiFi plus I can run Spotify on it

We have;
Scarlett - our youngest. We were told she's half pedigree, but no idea what!
Likes - Food, climbing on anything she shouldn't and hiding under the bed.
Dislikes - People! We've had her 1½ years and she only just stopped running away from us. Still doesn't like being picked up or touched.
Lola - our eldest. We got her a few weeks after moving into our house.
Likes - Fish sticks, sleeping in our bed or on the radiator covers and generally terrorising Scarlett.
Dislikes - Us eating food that she can't have and being shut out of our bedroom.
The fish! They just like eating...and dislike the pond freezing over in winter.

No real regrets so far...
I spent my entire budget on mine (even added £500 to it)...and stuck to my desired criteria; low mileage as possible, closest to the early 2006 high tax cut off as I dared and had to be a GT with Rays.
I'd have gone for Black, but having had a black MR2 and a silver MR2 I know that I was never happy with how the black one looked. As said, silver cars look better when dirty and as a bonus they seemed to be around £1k less than similar spec black models.
Dislikes...
It's running RE040s...they're crap and if it's less than 3°C out I'm very scared of them! I can't wait to change them!
Cabin rattles...I thought my MR2 was bad, this car has 4 unidentifiable rattles going on (double that of my MR2 which had a couple).
Because it's bigger and more than my previous cars, it feels slower than I expected for a car with this power & torque. A quick look at the speedo always confirms that isn't the case though!!
-
I went through a similar though process when I was looking for a Z.
I went for a completely stock GT spec with 35k on a 55 plate for around your £12k budget, and I'm not even that fussed now about a bodykit and wheels!!
I wanted the GT goodies and didn't want to have to pay extra to insure a car just because it was an import (which I did on my MR2).
The GT spec is more desirable and I've seen cars of my age with more miles advertised for £14-15k.

Great bitching guys
Flamesuit at the ready but a lot of "inspirational" cars on this thread look rather "standard" to me ...........
Anyway, theres only three for me:
I dunno about you but apart from wheels & a drop, this looks pretty standard
Its pretty standard bodyworkwise, but has SUS coilovers, Cusco toe/camber/TC arms front and back, HKS exhaust, and serious work has gone into making those wheels fit. Its definitely not standard and definitely definitely not OE though
Really?? SERIOUS work?? I've seen this dodgy shoehorning of fat wheels and stretched tyres on plenty of chavved up Golfs, Saxos and Clios and it's not exactly hard. A lip roll, wheels which are actually too wide (and would be illegal with correct size tyres) and then stretching silly size tyres on to pull the tread back under the arch.
Unless you're under 20, haven't developed your own personal taste yet and are driving a Euro box I don't see why anyone would do it. It makes the car look tacky and almost undriveable!
Don't get me wrong, I like the stock look and I like a subtle kit with some tasteful wheels...but some of the stuff you've posted up is just crass!!
Oh, forgot my disclaimer...this is just my opinion!!

[edit] I'm guessing you can't buy the stuff, it has to be used by an authorised dealer?
-
What MR2 do you have?
It's a Mk2...
-
But not for the Z...
I bought these for my MR2 back in November from an eBay seller in Japan...they've just arrived!
So now I've got to sell them on...shame as I'd have loved to have got these refurbed and put on.
I need to find some similar in 18/19" for the Z...I want nice summer wheels!!
-
Is that 20 or 25 on the front?
25mm rear, 20mm front
-
This is mine on +25mm...I reckon you could squeeze +30mm without rubbing issues on stock suspension.
-
I quite like the look of the INGS rear....and have been thinking of goin INGS rear, INGS skirts and Nismo V1 front.
Anyone have any INGS rear/side pics, as I've not seen any particularly hi-res!
-
wellies are a bit GAY
They're the g/f's...I bought them for her so she could help with a decking project last year.
She spent about 2 hours helping one day and they've not really been worn since!!
-
Good review, very useful!
From those marks I'd be torn between the VUS & the 050s...the VUS wins by 1 on communication but is down 2 on wet grip!
Either would be a vast improvement on my 040s though!!

Falkens did the trick this morning on the back road skating rink!
I lost track of Falkens when I went to Toyos...are they still on the FK452? Did yours hold up ok?
I've heard nothing but good reviews about the Vredstein Ultracs, I think they may be my next tyre to try out.
Scorpion exhaust...

Hi guys, I'm interested in getting a Scorpion Exhaust for the Z. I'm just after a stainless version of the stock exhaust, and the Scorpion seems to get some good reviews!
How much do these go for?? I'd probably look to collect, as I'm not too far from Leicester.
Cheers
Martin.
