Yes leads are correct as I changed the plugs one by one and if I had the leads wrong the car would run badly all the time, my car ran fine on saturday after changing the plugs (although I never floored the car when I drove it) it then ran fine today after changing the coolant for the 1st 20 minutes, it was only after hitting about 6k rpm in 3rd and then changing to 4th did it lose power and die but then as I said earlier it started straight back up and no matter how hard I drove it I couldn't get it to miss a beat.
The loose earth strap is a possibility as the road I was on when it died was very bumpy !
-
Surely that would only affect one cylinder and cause the car to drop to 5 cylinders not actually cut out? Appreciate the suggestion though

How tight did you do the spark plugs up?
20ft lbs. What are you thinking ?
-
I changed the sparks plugs yesterday (stock items) and did a coolant change this morning. I thought I'd drive the car to make sure all was well and after 20 minutes I decided I'd give it some welly in 3rd gear which was fine but as soon as I went into 4th the car started to die(badly missing with lots of pops out of the exhaust) almost as if it had run out of fuel. I coasted to the side of the road and popped the bonnet to see if there was anything obviously wrong but all looked ok so I tried to start it and it fired up instantly, it then drove home absolutley fine . I can only guess that when I opened the bleed valve when I was bleeding the system coolant was spraying all over the place and that maybe some coolant has got into some electrial connection ?
Anyway I've driven the car hard since it conked out and have had no problems so would anyone else have any thoughts on my diagnosis ?

I'd like to see BBS LM's copies in 19's with offsets to suit the Z

OP, pay attention to the plenum bolts, I have a spacer on mine as well and the bolts are constantly loosening off after being torqued to proper specs.
Will watch them but I've used a dab of Thread lock as well so should be ok now. If they come loose again I'll put some spring washers on there, that should stop them working loose.
-
Top man thanks for the help
-
Whilst on the subject of the Plenum, should the coolant valve be open or closed, currently mine is open ?
-
They're 10ftlbs. I've done them all up now with none snapping, so I'll just keep an eye on them now to make sure the don't come loose again.
-
Thanks for the tips

Whilst cleaning under the bonnet I found that the center 6 Plenum bolts were all pretty much undone (they were so loose they could rattle around) Is this a common fault or more likely due to not being tighten up correctly. The car has a plenum spacer but as I've only had the car about a month I don't know who fitted the spacer and when?

Mine made 282bhp (fly) before uprev and 300bhp after. Personally I want as much information from a Dyno run as possible so FWHP, WHP,HHP are all of interest to me.
-
It's just a reference point, WHP is the more important figure but most people rightly or wrongly are more familiar with the flywheel figure.
-
Maybe I'm missing something here, but what is the interest in the power available at the flywheel? Surely its an academic figure, it must be what's available at the driving hubs that's interesting.
Steve
You're right you are missing something as I've also quoted the WHP figure

Good point 4 inch

It's very loud and I would only recommend it if your car is a wekend toy not a daily driver. Everybody that has heard it loves it

Before the neighbours Lynch me, I need a pair of Tail pipe Bungs/silencers. I'm sure non Buddy club ones will also fit aslong as they are the same diameter.

Jez and they other guy that runs the RR(sorry didn't get your name) did say that it was a very impressive figure. I was over the moon with the result

Nice to meet you briefly yesterday Bry. Cracking results on the Up Rev, you must be well chuffed.
Sorry we couldn't have chatted some more

The rear pads, like the front have two pins holding the pads in place, and not one as suggested if you are running Brembo brakes.
Yup, I noticed that when I washed the car today I think it's the start of the CV joint going
