I had a look and all seemed fine at the time, maybe there is dust on the connectors. I hope so! I'll remove it and clean the connectors and install it again.

Update!!! I spoke to a guy called Mark at Abbey Motorsport today, who was very helpful. Fingers crossed the problem is my own doing and can be fixed easily. When I installed my rear speakers and front's I had to remove the Cambus Box (white box behind heater controls) there maybe some dirt on the connectors or the cables are simply loose at the back. If this is the case it will almost certainly send your dials crazy!!! Guess what I’ll be doing straight after work!!!
  4. Well if it was last Wednesday i could have been watching it in a bar in Paphos Seeing as I have just returned I'll settle for the Masons Arms in Solihull COME ON UTD!!!!!!!!!

5 days now since my dials last went crazy. Must be a problem with the whole cluster, I wonder if some dirt has got on the connectors whilst it was being converted? May strip them down this weekend and clean them up! Quick qu, I’ll probably start another post. As I believe mine has had the ECU chip to convert to mph, and the black sticky tape to place over km/h, is it possible now to buy a new dial fascia to replace the old JDM one??

Hehe, that’s an interesting question. When you look through the small print and digest it all, not a lot. After speaking to them (warranty company) they will allow me to claim for faulty dials. If that is what it turns out to be. But Nissan want an inital £89+vat Bad thing is that they will only pay up to £50+vat per hour labour charge!! Anything more and I will have to pay the difference. Wasn’t brought from a Nissan Dealer unfortunately!

Thanks guys, the car has a 3month warranty from the dealer i purchased it from. I'm sure it will be covered. Obviously not a common problem!!

Hi everyone, So a couple of times now, after turning the ignition all my dials go crazy, rev's up and over 5000rpm, fuel over full, speed over 160. Tried turning it off again, and it did sort it once. After about 5 times today i finally got my speedo, fuel and temp back to normal. The rev counter was stuck all the way round touching the stopper. Is this common??
  12. Hi all, I've had my zed nearly a week now and I love every bit of it. It’s such a great car. The problem I have is that my owners manual is in Japanese, is there an English version and if so where can I get it from. Or should I go to Nissan and spend £50+vat for new books and wallet??
  13. Thanks everyone, finally got it off!!! That was a struggle to do. Why do they make it so hard? New gear knob looks sweet and feels good when driving! Thanks again to everyone with their prompt responses.
  14. Thanks for your help guys, so basically keep persisting with it. When I said hack it off, i meant, cut into the gear knob bit by bit! Is there a way of removing the lever from the gear box?
  15. May sound daft but I’m struggling with this. My bro and I have tried for about an hour to remove my stock worn gear knob. I have read several guides and we have followed the general gist of them. Vice clamps on the shift lever and clamps on the knob itself, turn counter clockwise. This isn't working though, the knob just about turns even with 2 of us working together, I reckon we got 8 completed turns of the knob and it's no looser or even close to coming off!!! Can anyone think of away to get it off? The only way we've come up with now is to hack the old knob to bits with a hacksaw!!
  16. Hi all and thank you for the warm welcome. Can't believe the bad luck i've ahd a;ready. Hope to get it fixed soon and then, off to meet some of you at the meets. For those in the Midlands i'm based in Solihull, south east Birmingham for the rest martinmac, thanks for the heads up, i'll give him a call and see what he suggests.
  17. Hi All, I’m 25 from the west Midlands and have just picked up my imported 350z yesterday and I love every minute of it. Had a great drive back from the deep south apart from a little blip, will tell you more in a bit. The car is gorgeous with the full Nismo body kit, in silver. The car is 03 reg with 1 Japanese owner and 1 UK owner with only 23k miles. I have found a couple of minor issues which I could do with some help, the rear speaker behind the driver doesn’t work and the struts on the boot lid need to be up rated as they can’t take the weight of the spoiler! The little blip I had brought a tear to my eye. I stopped off at a service station on my way home to grab a drink. Reverse parked the car, and there were 2 spaces free to the driver’s side. On my return, someone must have clipped the front bumper, breaking the brackets that hold it on the driver’s side, also must have bent the bumper as there are 2 small splits on either side by the wheel arches! All I can is that I am totally gutted. Managed to repair the bumper the best I could, still doesn’t fir quite so flush and will most likely need a re-spray or be replaced. Any advice would be grateful!! Otherwise it’s a fantastic car can’t wait to really enjoy it!!!
