  1. Apologies for the double post, but I just read how to remove the B pillar trim, so did that and attempted better photos. First thing I noticed is that the drivers side trim must have been removed before as the middle clip is broken: Here are better shots of the cracked drivers side rear tab and the crack at the drivers side front: And here's a shot of the passengers side in place: And lifted up: As before, all help appreciated... Doug
  2. Just noticed something a bit odd today on my Zed, which I picked up on Monday just gone... The plastic body panels that go up the A pillars and along the sides of the roof have got some cracks in them, so I thought I'd take some photos to let you guys have a look. On it's own it's not that worrying, but I'm just concerned that it's an indicator of something more serious like crash damage. Maybe someone on here knows something about the car? Used to have a private reg X????... Anyhoo, here's the photos. This is goes down to a tab which holds the back end of the driver's side panel on: I found that out when I checked the other side and saw it had seperated entirely: Back to the driver's side, there's also a crack which leads down from the nick in the rubber trim, but it's really hard to see: Any and all help appreciated. I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow anyway, for them to have a look, as I don't think that's acceptable. Do you think I'm within my rights to ask them to replace the panels? Many thanks, Doug
  3. There used to be one that I spotted up here on the A77 about 10 years ago... Never got close up, but it looked like a pretty good imitation of the genuine article.
  4. Cheers lads...! The zed didn't give the impression of being quite so low until I got out the car that time... Didn't hit though... Give it time!
  5. Spotted another silver zed this evening heading up Horsley Brae towards Overton this evening. Didn't see the reggy, but a guy with short dark hair was driving. Funny how you spot more zeds as soon as you own one! Cheers, Doug
  6. Spotted a silver 56 plate heading West n the M8 this morning around half eight near J10/J11... Anyone on here?
  7. Thanks folks...! Hope to get to the next local meet, so might meet some of you then... Cheers, Doug
  8. As promised, my new toy: Taken with my phone camera; apologies if the photos aren't up to standard...! Cheers, Doug
  9. My understanding is that the long tube manifolds delete the OEM position cats, and connect directly to the Y-pipe and could therefore use the XYZ pipe with the HFC swappable section. Have I picked that up wrong? Cheers, Doug
  10. Hey folks! I was reading captain's thread about blueflame exhausts and remembered that Motor Sport World is right nearby to me. While on there I spotted the Supersprint long tube exhaust manifolds and wondered if anyone on here has any experience of them? I was inspired by SG Motorsport in Canada developing their own and getting really good gains. Let me know what you think...!
  11. Taggarts in Motherwell... Might look a bit daft turning up to meets in a Fester
  12. Hello again! Well, my licence arrived on Thursday , but the finance won't get processed until Monday... Guess who's having a glum weekend... Think I might just go and sit outside the showroom all weekend looking at it... Might listen to Dido...
  13. That's totally weird! I was literally just looking at that post... I'm going to wait until I've take delivery of it first though... Don't want to jinx anything! I'll defo be up for meets etc though once I've secured the keys!
  14. Cheers lads! I'll put some up as soon as I can... Have to wait for the DVLA to change my address on my licence before everything gets finalised, which they say can take up to 10 working days... I'm just going to jump up and down, run around the house laughing uncontrollably and wee myself at regular intervals with excitement! Off to go and check the insurance forum for good deals... Cheers, Doug
  15. Hi again folks...! Just thought I'd update this thread as, although it took a little longer than I had hoped, I have just put a deposit down on an orange 55 plate... I'm sooo bloomin excited!!! Cheers, Doug
  16. Anyone ever heard of / know about / used Cylinder Head Express in Govan, Glasgow? They said they've worked on a couple of 350Z heads before. Anyone here? Cheers, Doug
  17. Can't tell you anything about the dimensions yet, as I don't have a Z yet... However, I do have experience with building good SQ audio systems that are still powerful enough to make your face itch... Your answer will be supplied in the tech specs of whatever sub you go for. They always (in my experience) specify a required volume for best performance at a particular frequency... Good luck with the build! Cheers, Doug
  18. Yeah I knew Marc as well... A few years back though when their unit was in Wishaw...
  19. I used them a few years ago as did some friends. Mixed reports... Last time I went past (last week) it's different people in the building so I don't know if they've moved or closed or what...
  20. Thanks for the offer, but I'll give Star a miss for now... The lack of even a simple "Hi Doug," or a "Regards, A N Other" makes me think twice about their standards of customer care and subsequently I wouldn't want to drop four figures in their lap for what I believe may be a lesser quality service. Besides, I have a couple of other options where the respondants were at least willing to write a proper reply... One particularly promising indeed! Besides, if all else fails, I'll map it myself...
  21. Just a quick update re. tuners... Star Performance replied with a three word response: "Sorry, cannot help." I do have a couple of other leads though, one in particular is much more promising, so not all is lost! I'll let folks know once things are confirmed. Cheers, Doug PS: I've edited the thread title to reflect the content...
  22. Forgive my ignorance, but is that a proper split rim? If that's the only bit that's damaged, could it perhaps be replaced by someone like imagewheels.co.uk? It's hard to tell from the pic if the spokes are damaged or not...
  23. Sounds like a nasy bang! Hopefully the wheel did the honourable thing and sacrificed itself to protect your suspension etc... Get well... err... fixed soon mate! Cheers, Doug
