  1. quick answers here

Im a 350Z fan, not a nissan fan, although i do love there sportier cars like skyline, GTR, 350, 370, the do have a crap side...all the other cars not mentioned.

havin a 350Z is different to others,a 350z constantly gets good comments, i like to have a car that are not that common, something special.

im loyal to my 350Z, not nissan, i would want to keep it forever, i would like to be buried with it, but i dont think i would be allowed.

no nissan/350z tats, thats just weird.

i usually subscribe to owners clubs, loads of info on here, like to chat about the car, give advice, inspiration from other owners, loads of pics.

and yes i do consider myself special, most people do aswell, i dont expect anything from nissan, dont expect to be treated differently, at the end of the day there selling a product, i want it, i give them money, end of really unless something breaks that shouldnt and its under warranty.

  2. Sorry forgot to reply to this, thanks for all the help. Coldel has been amazing and created an awesome CV for me, so can thank the bloke enough, but i find it amazing for someone to take the time to do that for me, and everyone else on this site, so big thumbs up to 350Z club!

BUT, the time has come again where ive spotted another opportunity, that is nearly perfect for me, its with a manufacturer and company that ive had 9 years experience with but as a tech, not the same dealer but one nearby, its for a service managers job.

So is there any service managers on here that i can talk to about there day to day tasks, what the CV should include for this role and so on.

    very much appreciated!

  3. parking on the street makes it cheaper.... did for me anyway, i also put my wife on my insurance, because she works in the nhs it took 200 quid off, try using an online quote as you can keep going back and changing bits and bobs, thats what i did on elephant, renewal was 1000 quid, i changed it all about and got it to 670!

  4. i can get stubby aerials that are official honda ones, they are from the old civic, i dont know how different they are from the s2000, but aoparently these ones go fatter at the bottom, i can test and get pics if people are interested. they are also 20 quid + p&p.

  5. i get mainly good comments, i even had a family friend say "theres a really nice porsche outside" that was at my wedding, never had people shout at me as im driving, but i do have people i work with calling it a gay car, shitbox, etc.... this coming from people with tiny little hatchbacks, probably to get a reaction out of me, but the more mature work colleagues have been amazed by it.

i just let them got on with it, i know i have a good car, im happy with it, sod everyone else, just jealous.

  6. if it does turn out to be a mistake and we do end up with a refund i dont think we should leave bad feedback, as a respected car club i think we can understand that people do make mistakes.

also whoever it is obviously makin there livin from there ebay store and the amount of bad feedback they would get would make a difference to there sales.... just my thoughts.

  7. common on a 350, from what ive read even a new one will do it, without hearing it i couldnt say 100% that its fine, but i think you will find we all or most of us have the same

  8. i was on the way home yesterday, and as an RX8 went passed me going the other way, he/she dropped a gear, went passed 3 other cars on his side, head on with a lorry before slamming on his brakes and pulling back onto his side directly in front of another car, obviously didnt see the lorry.

what an idiot, dont know if he was trying to race me, dont know how that would work when were going different directions?

5 mins later going around a bend where a women was on the phone across the white line.

AND THEN...... a man/women overtakes a cyclist on a narrow country road....on a blind hill with a bit of a bend on it, and nearly takes out the car in front of me.

Was it national drive like a moron day yesterday?

  9. URGENT HELP REQUIRED/ also theres a rant in here too.

First of all thanks to everyone who replied to this thread. secondly i didnt pm/ring the above people due to the fact i started a new job very recently, and wanted to keep with it as it seemed to be going well.

Unfortunatly one of the people i work with is making it very hard for me, singled me out in situations where im not doing anything wrong, and just doing what the others do that i work with.

Today is the final straw, being told "i can get you sacked" this person who clearly doesnt like me for whatever reason is determined to get me gone.

Its made me so angry right now, ive been working non stop for the last 10 years, as soon as i left school, i knew what i wanted to do, got on with it, and never done anything wrong, im very good at my job, i always do it right and im very quick once i get to know the product im working on. I just dont know what this guys problem is. With my contract i get a 3 month period where they can basically get rid if they want to, ive now been there for about 1.5-2 months, and with a mortgage etc, its frightening.

ive always heard stories of this kind of situation, but always thought it would never happen to me...looks like it has.

Anyway, as ive probably stated somewhere i am a vehicle technician, but im so keen to progress out of the workshop, i couldnt describe how keen i am, its something that i want to do because i actually think i have the knowledge and skills to do it, i see people climb the ladder because all they want is easy money and a company car, although that would be nice, im happy with my wage and im happy paying for my own car, and some people may not believe me when i say the perks of the jobs i want to do dont interest me in the slightest.

Ill try not sound big headed but its hard to get my points across on a forum without sounding like i am especially with the next part.

Where i began my apprentership, i was very lucky, i was trained with someone that worked hard, knew what he was doing, worked his breaks, and efficiency was a priority, as i was trained with this guy, i did the same, only 6 months in i was working by myself even diagnosing, by the end of my time, i was a senior tech, i was lucky as people left there jobs to go elsewhere, and this forced the company to rely heavily on me, this boosted my skills, but unfortunalty im a victim of my own success, when i tried to get out of the workshop i wasnt allowed.

At first i went for service advisor which is a pay cut, but i had seen others go from there to service manager, and thats where i want to be.

I have seen a job for workshop controller which im more than happy to apply for, but my CV is for a techs job.

So my request is.....can i send my CV to anyone who could help me ASAP, as after today, i need to act quickly, im not asking someone to change it for me, but to give me pointers/bullet points at what i should add so i can apply for a job that i have no experince for, but very keen to do.

    Thanks.

  10. last night i got home and the neighbour told me my alarm has been goin off all day, so i checked it over and all is ok, 5 mins later it went off again, so disconnected battery overnight, this morning i went to work... to be attacked by a giant moth, approx 6mm long. so i destroyed it immediatly before it grew any bigger and unleashed hell on earth.

my alarm this morning is ok and not a peep.

are these interior sensors that sensitive?

the only other thing i can think of is its giant wings were causing the car to rock with each flap.

  11. spoiler almost completed, last layer of paint went on yesterday, so smooth as ive spent hours preping it and smoothing each layer, purchased my last can of clear lacquer, sprayed it on.....out came primer!!!!! WTF!

so now ive removed most of it off the spoiler, but paintwork very patchy, so will have to rub it down again but not all the way back to primer, and respray and smooth and respray and smooth.

    THANKS HALFORDS.

Took it back, and the manager said its because im doing it in cold weather, then he took the tin and said " oh, this is primer" so i said "look at the label"

Turns out its labelled wrong, so he took it off me, and said he has to send it to halfords as evidence, he agreed to supply me with lacquer and colour spray free of charge, but im afraid it needs 3 cans to spray and make 100% again.

complaint sent to halfords customer services.

weird thing is i tested it before i sprayed it, and it was clear, then went over the spoiler with my first quick coat of lacquer and then after about 5 seconds it came out primer, and i know in colder conditions it can come out abit cloudy, but this was pure primer....gutted.

But apart from that, im suprised out how well it WAS, and how smooth it WAS. at first i was unsure as i want it perfect, but ive had fun and have learnt alot by doing it myself, shame the last stage was messed up due to a wrong label, but will see what they say, but i expect my paint to be supplied again free of charge.

Another weird thing is that the manager didnt seem shocked, like he has seen this, he also said "ill have to send this one to them otherwise they wont believe me over the phone"

    hmmmmm
