  1. got mine from envy

Thanks very much for the support.

Sometimes you can feel like you're banging your head against a brick wall on this site  I unfortunately dont have the time free in the day to sit online and pounce on every query  The shop I fit around my day to day detailing.

I have the de-ironizer in stock, do discount codes from time to time for you and you still dont buy and/or go elsewhere. Whats a guy have to do to get recommendations or support on the site?!

Been a visible trader for nearly 4+ years now.......and rest....

  2. Or as Peter said........save a load of cash, time and effort and get whichever forum detailed who is local to you to do it.

Is there anyone near me that does it, i'm in Crawley, Sussex, so anyone in Surrey/W. Sussex?

    I can think of someone.....
  3. Lovely as always mate - great job

    Cheers Will

    What a craftsman. :#1:

You are pretty local to me (Whiteley) and we have had a chat in the past about you doing some valeting on my Ford RS Collection. Sadly they are still away in storage and not seen daylight yet this year but maybe next year.

Reassuring to see the top quality of work you do though, incredible results. Definitely be in touch to have my classics given the pampered treatment

Many thanks and yes I do recall the conversation ;)

I love seeing it go from bad to a brand new car! Great work.

    Many thanks

Makes me want another M3 :)

Yes, a fave of mine too but the corrections always seem to be carbon black!
  4. Long overdue, thought I'd do a write up on this Carbon Black BMW M3 paint correction I've carried out this week!

Hot off the hectic weekend at Waxstock, straight into a paint correction detail for me...

2nd use of the indoor facilities available to me in the Meon Valley so I can do the work regardless of the weather we've had this year.

    The victim before:

    P1000559.jpg

Wheels washed with AS Smart wheels, envy brushes and Vikan new soft wheel brush.

Door shuts etc pre soaked with AS G101, and agitated with brushes. Pressure washed clean. Body soaked with Bubbly Jubbly and allowed to dwell before being rinsed off at high pressure them washed via the TBM and a trusty Z sponge.

Something new to try out so I added this to the paintwork. Sticky and clingy in nature. Looked quite runny until it hit the paintwork thats for sure.

    P1000561.jpg

Sadly due to the colour of the car I didnt see the reaction but it left a smooth surface for claying.

Clay was my all time fave, Dodo Gentle Grey. Not picking up too much this time.

    P1000563.jpg

Paint thickness readings were pretty much as expected. A few low areas but nothing too scary.

    Onto the defects...

Let battle commence. Polish Scholl S3 Gold, yellow Megs polishing pad on the flex rotary. Refined with Menzerna 85RE on 3m blue pad. Wiped down with Car Pro Eraser and checked with Brinkman and Sun gun.

Polishing took approx 13hrs to get the results you see above.

Once the polishing was done it was time to de-dust and use the car pro eraser again to make sure the paint was squeaky clean and re-checked with the Sun gun.

LSP for the BMW was Wolfs Chemicals Body Wrap.

    P1000585.jpg

Applied as per instructions and buffed off.

Tyres were dressed, exhausts polished, glass cleaned, hood hoovered (again!).

Interior was hoovered and given a good cleaning with Dr Leather wipes. Plastics cleaned and dressed. Vanity mirrors and interior glass cleaned.

  5. I have PM'd Derek and Martin to explain my no show for this weekend.

Apologies to all, but due to injuring myself on Thursday I cant make it.

I know Mike, I took the pi$$ and now its your turn

Derek if you can let me know how to pay my traders fee I'll gladly do so.

Hope you all have a good weekend, the forecast is good.

    Tim

ps I will do a Zedfest special offer in the Envy Valeting trader section to hopefully go someway make it up to you all.....

  6. hey ! so.. it seems i can make this!

    :drunk:

There'll be plenty of room there for you. Some will turn up Friday, some come along on the Saturday. Plenty of options for you!

  7. Zed –Fest 2012. 10,11,12 August.

Hot and cold food and drinks will be provided as usual by Mr Stickyfingers and his staff. Remember he will stay as late as you like providing you keep spending.

Musical entertainment throughout the event will as usual be down to our own DJZ

Team sports will be held on Saturday afternoon. You can make up teams of 4 persons to take part in any diabolical sports we can think of . (suggestions are always welcome). I am hoping to run a field gun competition similar to that seen at the royal tournament.

Remember your cars will be on show throughout the event and final judging will be at mid day Sunday followed by the awarding of trophies.

Sunday morning is an opportunity to visit Nottingham Dirt Buggies from 9am – 11.30am (breakfast can be obtained there if you’re late rising). A 20 minute thrash around their 9 acre track will set you back £30. Wet weather gear and helmets supplied if needed. I am assured that 20 mins is long enough due to the severity of the track. (This is only about 4 miles from Sherbrooke) you may want to take a change of clothes just in case. We have a 20% discount on normal price as it’s early Sunday.

Saturday night is optional fancy dress. A prize for the best dressed.

If you are bringing your children the pedal go carts will be available to them throughout the weekend.

An ‘ Honesty Bar’ will be available which will probably consist of tins of Boddingtons and tins of Stella which will be kept in the fridge. Prices will be as shop plus a little for the club.

All sounds excellent Derek, especially the dirt buggies:)

  8. What kind of dough should it cost for an exterior detailing? I've found a mobile guy that charges £140 for a full exterior or £160 if he uses premium products like Dodo juice. He's also an authorized Dodo juice retailer and I was thinking about adding the £20 extra that he charges for cleaning the engine bay.

Do those prices sound reasonable for a guy working out on his own? Maybe too cheap? Too expensive?

Contact Rollo at Orchard Car care, he's in your neck of the woods.

For an example of prices I charge forum members on here I charge £180 f0r an inside and out detail using Swissvax/Zymol/Dodo products and its 6-8hrs work as detailed on my websites "what we can do" page.

    Best wishes

    Tim

  9. Is 50ml the smallest size? Best part of £50 is a bit rich for the amount I'm going to want to ever use

Have you used Permanon Car Super-Matt before?

Did you see the price for the full size 200ml pot then? Yeah 50ml is the smallest sorry.

Not used Permanon no, even though they are just up the road from me.

  10. Its down to personal preferance really.

Dodo do hard and soft waxes and there really is not much between them.

Price wise/durability the Supernatural will cost a bit more and you'll get possibly an extra 1-2 months durability per application in my experience.

I do stock the panel pots, the full size ones and also the hybrid version so if you do need anything please give me a shout.

    Cheers

    Tim
