  1. Nice one CS. lovely sounding zorst

BTW is that your car on the vid? i would be amazed :yahoo: Anyway is there a chance i could have a demo when we next meet up. could be very well tempted at that price, instead of the injen kit. ;)

  2. the oil consumption issue has nothing to do with the plenum ;)

It is totally normal to have oil collect in the plenum area, regardless of the year of the car. The rings are the issue with the revup motors

    enjoy the mods

Hey Adam, i did not think the plenum was the cause. my observation was that looking at all the oil sitting around the lower collector from the breather pipe meant a lot of wastage from the crankcase as the oil was ultimately burnt in combustion....

To continue with this thinking i feel an oilcatch can is a wise investment and i see you have one from Cusco ;) what other hardware would i need to install this properly and briefly how

Am i right in thinking that diverting the breather pipe into the catch can and recirculation it will clean up the air charge and provide better burn?

i value your experience as always

  3.

TBH I think all the traders sometimes get a bit overwhelmed and while I cant speak for Envy or Opie, sometimes things are out of their control. One thing I do think though, is that the customer should always be kept up to date if things arent right. :)

Well said Chris and my point exactly. A little update if any unforeseen problems arise and if too late to do so a simply apology will always do the trick instead of speaking to someone as they were stupid or even deny profesional responsibility. ;)

    nuff said :)

  4. Looking B) You may want to check the nuts for tightness after a few miles. Mine were quite loose when I checked them ater about 100 miles.

Thanks for this info Trev ;) it will be unpleasant to see you Rays lapping you on the road :scare:

Jerry, it only takes the time to change 4 wheels :teeth: could be quicker if you have a proper carlift as the standard item can drive you  . that said 30mins should be ok including washing the insides of the wheels

  5. The Wales meet in May would be a good time to get 5-10 cars fiited

Dont think Wales would be a very good time :surrender: Its normally a very busy day except it will be 2 days this year. So unless you are going to fit them whilst the owners sleep in the hotels when are you going to have time to fit them?

If they get to Chester uber early then they could do it. But agreed, not likely to happen :headhurt:

Thanks guys for this insight. We will see what will work best and for whom and then take it from there the most important thing is the level of interest and towards followed by firm commitment.

  6. Some of you would have bidded on this item when nurrish put it up for sale or may be familiar with this thread:

    http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... highlight=

In short i was the lucky winner of the auction and i am very pleased with this custom satnav and with the feedback from some members here, we(nurrish and i) are persuaded that it will be criminal not to offer it up to the forum. you would be hard pressed to think this unit was not OEM B)

When i bought this item it was because i wanted to fit the cubby hole with what nissan had intended but not for the same outlay even as retrofit. most aftermarket kits are complicated and would interfere with the Bose system etc which i was recluctant to do or change as it is adequate.

This unit does everything via FM, BT and is touch screen. IGo is very good, fast and accurate. There a host of additional features which make it even superior to the OEM birdview satnav plus the fact that you can mate it with aftermarket HUs or other bluetooth devices  Fixed speed cameras warning, speeding alert function, POI, AV reciever to connect other stuff like reverse camera, displays of phone contacts information, playslist etc to name a few :D

We are gauging interest now and would come up with specs/pricing soon as we are negotaiting for even higher performance components and the hardware(trim/panels) with overseas contacts.

However we hope everthing should come in under or about £400 for full installation cost which includes all necessary hardware( cables, mic, motorised cubby to match for both pre 05 and 05 upwards cars etc) and software(IGO08 with full updateable GB and European mapping) and fitting.

The Wales meet in May would be a good time to get 5-10 cars fiited but for those in the Midlands or willing to travel this way we can accomodate you.

For those on the fence you may coose to wait for the may meet or earlier to see the system in action in mycar before you make up your mind :teeth:

Just a few pics of the system:

keep watching this space. A small promotional video on the manufacture testing of the new unit will follow soon.

please indicate your interest directly or pm to nurrish or myself.

    cheers

  7. Not sure Adam would be happy with being called one of the little guys.....! z-1 is a pretty big concern as far as traders go!

Sorry if you read this Adam, it was supposed to read, but message lost missed in my haste that you are a good example of a big trader with a professional approach and excellent customer service despite being based across the pond and with alot of input into the forum

Not to mention patience with undecisive customers like myself. i have made my final list now after getting some stuff here and plan to proceed with outstanding minus these soon ;)

  8. Moved from Styling ;)

Thanks Mods  i need to pay attention

Steve. i was thinking of your angled spacers but i think the isssue will be the longer bolts it would require for both the plenum and the strut brace which you donot have i think. it might also need a modified gasket to fit between the top of the spacer and the upper plenum collector ;)

Please correct me if i am wrong because i would be happy to take the spacer off your hands :teeth:

  9. CS you are a legend! thanks for you patience and excellent service to get these spacers at sort notice!

It was also nice to meet you and your fiancee in flesh  keep up the good work B)

    Before:

i would have been baffled by this little guy if CS had not told me about it

    IMG_0169.jpg

    X4 corners done...sweet as a nut :yahoo: .

    After:

    IMG_0188.jpg

    IMG_0179.jpg

Not the best pics in the world (mobile phone camera) but i am happy with the aesthetic changes.

I did not feel any real changes in handling though the rear feels slightly alive that before or maybe i was leaning on it a little bit than usual with the new found torque :teeth::teeth:

i should expect a big difference after sportline springs and ARB's though

    :D

  10. Thanks to Sunset350z i got hold of this special item and i can't stop smiling :teeth::teeth:

The difference is huge in the mid range and there is a small induction growl now at WOT.

i hope the ECU does not take this away from me, if not i will be fitting and refitting the MREV2 ever so often to unlearn the ECU :teeth: .

On a separate note i took the opportunity to fit spacers and also clean the TB which was full of grease/gunk from the atmosphere but mainly oil from the crank breather pipe.

i can also say with confidence where all the oil consumption in the GT4 or revup engines go  ...its all burnt up in smoke while some collects between the runners in the lower collector:headhurt:

A catchcan is a must i think. To save me oil and hopefully the resulting cooler "uncontaminated" air should yeild more ponies :p

    See pics for differences

    IMG_0176-1.jpg

1-The GT4 (REVUP) runners are shorter hence less torque more top end power. 2-Where my oil goes to! catch can next on the list!!

3&4- Nissan'n attempt to remedy the poor airflow to the front cylinders by reprofilling the angle/height of the intake and more space for airflow between the runners.

    IMG_0175.jpg

The MREV 2 which is just the standard lower collector that has been ported just like what motordyne did to improve the airflow to the front but retain torque charcteristics of the non revup engine :p

    IMG_0173.jpg

    IMG_0172.jpg

Cleaning out the gunk from the TB and butterfly and inner surface of the plenum case white white spirit. No probs afterwards

I will dyno the car with this setup before i put on the the CAI, angled plenum spacer, decat/HFC and true dual exhaust and see if there is any objective gain.

  11. Just want to get this off my chest

My P3 service was due so i booked the car in for Tuesday or wednesday last week in Plymouth.

Prior to this i had ordered some service items from both Envy and Opie oils whom i have both dealt with in the past.

No problems with Envy who delivered on time on that occasion but i had had to make a cancellation with Opie when they failed to deliver on time in the past.

However this time around 1 week after my order and several calls i never recieved my item from Envy! Finally on Thursday morning i called again and i was told my order might be lost in post :surrender: No apologies given!

With Opie i had sucessfully got most of what i needed beforehand but on Tuesday morning i had a chat with my garage and decided to change both diff and transmission oils. After a quick call to Opie and exchange of cash for guarantee next day delivery(09:00), i was hoping things would be Ok.

The next day afternoon with my mood not helped by Envy, i was still expecting Opie's delivery especially as my car had been drained of all diff/transmission fluid :headhurt:

Several calls later it was the same bullshit about the courrier had'nt picked up my items the night before and i would have to wait for friday :headhurt: No apologies given either.

i could understand that Envy were doing some moving last week but i was particularly miffed when i was told that i should have specified that i need the item a week latter for my service to ensure timely arrival :headhurt:

As for Opie, i had stressed my case and was confident my deadline would be met as they are base in Redruth which is less than 2 hours from Plymouth! They let themselves down and did themselves no favour when i was told in that on the website it said deliveries could be 1-2days when a simple apology would have sufficed!

I am sure people have been let down by the "big boys" within this forum and i think is is time there is a place here to put down this experiences so that they can improve their service or customer relations/honesty.

And when you think of all the little guys on the forum like CS, MB350Z , Adam (z-1) just to name a few who are always comming through even at a loss sometimes and are great contributors on this forum it makes you wonder  .

i know were to go next time ;)

    End of

  12. On my GT4 i have measured;

    Front ARB 34mm

    Rear ARB 21mm

It might seem like not much difference wrt the Eibach, but because they are adjustable unlike stock it can be setup stiff or stiffer to suit your suspension components or intended application and greatly enhance handling characteristics of your Zed.

    Great Kit CS

  13. Hi mate - I am 6'5 and a bit of a unit, and I fit fine. I have a mate who has driven the car with no problem and he is 6'7 and 25 stone!! :snack: (they call him the biggest man in the world!) I find if you get the seat as far reclined as possible you should fit fine.

    :scare:

:scare::scare: honey they are killing the Zed ;)
