  1. Yeah it's bloody great! Especially at night when it's empty. Does sound :cloud9: through there.

I did that tunnel twice the day i left yours dropping the MREV2 and it was intoxicating with the K1 at full cry :cloud9: I can see how thing can get ugly on the transition from the tunnel to the open road due to differing grip levels.

Jeez I bet it was loud through there with a K1 :scare:

  2. That's about 5 min down the road from where I live, same place Ronaldo crashed his 599. Can't understand how he's managed to crash there, it's basically a straight road :headhurt: Unfortunately driving skill doesn't necessarily increase in line with bank balance

But it is the best tunnel for miles around here though isnt it... ;)

  3. Interesting comment on the PF disks. I have a serious amount of brake dust that come off my PF pads and oem disks. I was wondering if PF disks would reduce some of that brake dust? Only issue being the front's are £550 if my memory serves my right from Alex - which I could do without paying, although my car's in at Abbey at the weekend for a good checkover, so it may warrant new disks?

I think PF pads are notorious for generating a lot of brake dust. I very much doubt changing discs to PF would change the amount of dust generated. To be honest I think PF pads are overkill for road use anyway. As you say, they cause lots of brake dust and really wear out your discs much quicker than other pads, although the benefit is they offer great stopping power. Ferrodo DS2500 offer a good compromise of low brake dust/disc wear and offer very good stopping power for fast road/occasional track use. PF discs with the Ferrodo pads are apparently a really great combination, but as you say, the discs aint the cheapest! But hey, you gotta pay to play as they say

  4. I know it a big no no, but it's only when turning one way, and plenty of other run like this so it shouldn't do this.

Ooo and it did in a straight line so I turned it off, but I dont like driving with it off so that's not a option

    ;)

  5. Been doing a bit more research and hit my next confusion rung on the ladder to full understanding. Here it is - noticed a post about a MREV2 lower plenum mod. Is this mod better that the plenum spacer mod, can it be additional too the spacer mod or is it an either or option, if so which would you recommend.

The MREV2 is only needed if you have the 296 bhp 'rev up' engine and is used in conjunction with the plenum spacer. If you have the 276 bhp engine then all you need is the spacer.

Cheers young man, one more down, god knows how many more to achieve full understanding. You'll know when I do though cos I'll be asking for directions to RS Tuning

No worries mate. Love the way you describe it like you're on the path to true enlightenment, makes it sound almost Buddhist like :lol:

  7. Does anyone know if resonated cats will pass an MOT?

As far as I can tell from by research they won’t pass mot emissions so I'm now looking at just doing the pleum spacer, 06 air box and already got the K&N high flow filter.

Can anyone advise, if I dont fit the de cats would it still be worthwhile fitting a Y pipe or just leave the existing oem exhaust.

    Dicky

If you want to pass an MOT then you can use high flow cats. Fitting a free flowing y pipe will also help with power after an ecu tune.

The best option would be to fit de-cats and a Motordyne Y pipe (called an XYZ pipe) which can have a single high flow cat fitted. This combination of having a single high flow cat situated further away from the headers gives better power gains after a tune. Abbey Motorsports are the guys to speak to on all of this. Hope that helps!
