  1. Just about out go out to clean the car, it's a bit chilly today. Looking forward to meeting you all. Will be spending Saturday in Chester and then stopping over in a hotel just off the A550 so may try and join up as you come past if we're not ready in time to make the service station start point
  2. Do you get any paper work to record that this work has been completed? Called my dealer to query this and they just told me that nothing was outstanding, which is slightly different from 'yes it has been done'.
  3. Latest owners manual states ' Use unleaded premium petrol with an octane rating of 98 octane (RON)'. I think round here my only option is Shell as all the others seem to be 97 RON. It then goes onto say that for Russia and Ukraine use 'petrol of at least 95 octane (RON)'.
  4. Are both seats giving the same result? I would have though it was unlikely that they both show the same fault, unless completely dead. First time I’ve had heated seats and was a bit under whelmed. Thought they'd have a bit more oomph. I just seem to feel the warmth under my butt and at the base of the back.
  5. Makes me feel a bit better, cheers After checking out a few other cars I think it was me. New car, different seating position etc....or maybe I should stop driving in the wife's high heels
  6. Yes I would expect it to bite when the pedal is nearly fully depressed. With only 5k on the clock I can't believe it would be that worn. Will try and pop into the dealers and see what they think. As it was a Nissan Select vehicle sold 'in a condition you would expect for age and mileage' I don't think that is acceptable. I've owned cars for upto 7 years and never got through a clutch yet. So there's no chance that it could just be the adjustment? Oh well, I'll pop in and ask as I need to show them my damaged satnav DVD as well Edit: Just remembered, I did have one clutch go on an old Vaxhaul Chevette I had when I was a teenager(high miles though). Don't remember the biting point moving though, just remember it starting to slip when under heavy acceleration. Doh, wish I hadn’t asked this question now, I’m just going to be worrying about it
  7. Still being a fairly new owner of my Zed, I'm still finding my way around it. I've read about the heavy clutch but in addition I find mine bites quite high up the pedal travel, probably about half way. Every other car I've driven tends to be down the lower end. Is this normal? I guess it's self adjusting but can it be moved at all. Finally, I'm hoping this isn't an indication that the clutch might be wearing as its only done 5k. Cheers
  8. I was in a similar position a few months ago. Loved the look of the Zed, counted my pennies and decided I would push the boat out for a 296bhp version. Unfortunately while at the dealers I sat in the latest version and looked at the 30k+ price tag . Once the seed had been planted I couldn't resist and eventually went for the latest version, albeit a second hand one. As mentioned, when (if) sale time comes it will be the latest version. Have noticed a few 313 versions going for just under 20k at the Nissan dealers. Only had a couple of brief test drives but from those I couldn’t really notice any difference in them performance wise. I was also a bit suspicious as to why the 296 version was only around for what seemed a fairly short time ( I always think the worst).
  9. I'm sure you're more astute than me but I spent quite a while trying to figure out how those damned buttons on the LHS of the dash adjusted the lights. Finally realised there were some on the RHS that did the job just fine
  10. Thanks. I'll give it a try. Dry maker pen - is that the type you would use on a white board?
  11. Sitting in the car today I noticed a few small white spots on the door trim that surrounds the window and mirror adjuster switches. Thought I'd just splashed some polish onto it but on closer inspection it seems they are small nicks in the outer surface I guess some bright spark at Nissan thought 'I've got a good idea, let's make the door trim out of a white material and coat it black, then when it gets scratched it will look extremely obvious'. Anyway, it an '07 model and I guess I may have caught the trim with my keys as I have not noticed it before. Has anybody tried touching this area up and what did you use? All I can think of at the moment is something like a black indelible marker. Cheers
  12. , I'm sure you'll love it. Great performance and sound, admiring glances and not very many around, it's great
  13. Got my first Zed a month ago after finding lots of advice on here. Sure you'll love it
  14. Moved onto the 350Z from a Civic Type-R which was great fun to drive and my favourite car so far . The wife and I have always loved the look of Zed but always thought it was way out of my price range (actually it still is). Anyhow, now not moving house as intended, so had some cash to spend and got my 9 month old Zed just under a month ago. A bit of a step up from my last car and probably the pinnacle of what I'll ever own. Loving the power and sound. As it cost twice as much as my last car I'm driving a bit cautiously. Hopefully will be able to exploit more of its abilities once I gain a bit of confidence with it. Hmm, maybe I need a little jaunt around some nice Welsh roads. Next car? Unless I win the lottery it will probably be a downgrade, so I best look after this one
  15. Trying to program the damned sat nav, think I'll stick to the traditional road map Can someone explain the bit of route around 'arrive at Corwen,Denbighshire'? At the T-junction where the A494 meets the A5 it looks like we're turning right then left, travelling 500yards to Corwen, then doing a u-turn to travel back along the A5 before taking a left back onto the A494 to Bala
  16. Hi All, Well just finished washing, polishing and waxing the Zed for the first time with a micro fibre drying towel and polishing cloths. Wow, what a difference! Can not believe how much easier the drying is than using a chamois. The polish and wax removal is much easier as well. So now I have loads of dirty microfibres, any advice on how to wash them? Searched the net and it seems there's lots of contradictory advice from washing cold to washing hot. Also what detergent, if any, do you use? Cheers Doh! Just realised the Wales meet is only a few weeks away, will have to do it all again closer to the date
  17. Booked a hotel in Deeside. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna. And a nice Indian restaurant only 2 minutes walk away. £55 for the room, just need make sure I'm hangover free to enjoy the Sunday drive

  19. Spotted down the parade at 10:00 today. Various nismo bits (I think), very nice
  20. We stop off for a carvery at he same place everytime in Bala Very nice too, most people stop in and around Chester as this is our starting point on the Sunday morning (J14 M56) What's the name of the pub? Plenty of parking I hope 50+ spaces
  21. Any details on the place you will be stopping for the carvery. Looks like me and the wife may come along. Just looking for some accomodation at the moment
  22. Thanks, I'll give it a go the weekend
  23. Just bought some of this. I notice the centre parts of the seats are perforated. Does this cause a problem with the cleanser blocking up the holes and remaining visible or does it all get absorbed into the leather? Cheers
