  1. The time has come for me to sell my Honda Civic Track Car, I bought this car 11 years ago and it’s given me great enjoyment over the years; I doubt if any of you guys would be interested in the car but I’d be interested to know what you think it might be worth, I’m looking for a quick sale (Before the MOT runs out) so I’ve stuck it on Ebay.

If you’ve any idea what this might be worth, please let me know what you think. The mods themselves will be worth much more than the rest of the car I’d imagine? - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Civic-ESi-R ... otohosting

If I don’t get a decent price for it I may strip the good bits off it and trade it in for the government £2k scrappage scheme. If I do this; does anyone know where I can get some really cheap suspension and brakes? – The parts don’t have to be good; just as so long as the car will still roll and stop so a cheap scrap yard may be the best bet?

  2. I'll try and pop along on Thursday night and say 'Hello'. I might even take my Zed on if it's dry and their are still spaces.

What are the level of cars like at the TrackScotland nights? - I've got a totally battered old Civic so I don't know how welcome that would be?

  3. Thanks guys. Had quite a few calls and emails but mostly from absolute chancers making offers way below what I was looking for without even seeing the car.

  4. All the wheels discussed look really good, I know there has been a lot of sporadic chat about wheels but I don't know if there's ever been a thread where folk quoted where they bought their wheels and how much they paid for them etc?

I think this would come in fairly handy as it's possibly the most expensive mod the majority of us will do; also, it'd be very interesting to see results in pictures especially if offsets were quoted?

For example, I was really interested recently with Pimms recent post regarding his sweet new wheels (as well as the offset and the Eibach springs he got); I thought the end results were great and certainly were food for thought.

Apologies if this has been done and I've missed it but in an attempt to bring all wheel related info together, a database or thread with the following info relating to wheels would be great:

    Brand and Model of Wheel

    Offset

    Wheels Cost

    Wheels Supplier and Supplier Rating

    Tyre Type

    Tyre Size

    Tyre Rating

    Suspeansion mods

Again, apologies if something like this has already been done but if not this could prove to be a very helpful and interesting thread, is this something a moderator could set up?

But I'll let you off for your Star Wars inspired name!

Cheers Phil, may the force be with you.

  6. I love the noise, the way it handles & the way it looks. I dislike the fact that its become a money pit

Money pit? - I assume you're talking about buying mods?

    - If not, I'm surprised; I've had mine for a year (13,000 miles) and financially it's been a dream compared to my Boxster - 2 services and a set of tyres, apart from that it's not cost me a bean.

What I like - Everything, particularly the drive

    What I don't like - The badge

I guarantee if you buy a Zed, you won't regret it, awesome car.

  7. Hey Bronzee,

It's still good for track days, since the pic above was taken I've only driven it 25 miles home and up and down my street a few times.

When the pic was taken above the car did 2 track days in a week and never missed a beat.

  8. I'm a bit of a Civic fan myself, I've had mine for 11 years (I got it the day before John Collins scored for Scotland against Brazil at the 1998 World cup), it's not been used daily for 8 years and in those 8 years it's not done many miles but has been great fun as I've used it as a track car; some scumbag vandalised it last year then another scumbag stole it; it was recovered but it's now pretty much worthless and gets started with a screwdriver, only ever getting out of my garage to go to Knockhill (but due to lack of time that's not even happened since last August :bang: )

Anyway, as I'm not using it much and due to its appearance it's not worth much I'm contemplating trading it in under the government scrappage scheme for a new car for my girlfriend. I must admit though, it'll break my heart to see it crushed...... it's been part of my life for most of my adult life and I've had some great times in it and holds some awesome memories.

Here’s a pic of it the last time we were on the track.

  9. Looks spot on, you must be delighted with it. What's the brand of wheels?

This is probably the wrong thread for this but how does the car ride now with the Eibach springs? - It the handling any better.

I love the look of it lowered, unfortunately I need to park in a sh!t hole of a car park so I' a little reluctant to make the car any lower.

Also..... It'd be good to see 'before' and 'after' shots of the car on the new and old wheels!

  10. I hate taking my cars to get repaired therefore I would only consider German or Japanese cars, the Megane gets very good reviews but I wonder how many of the reviewers would actually spend their own cash on something that will be depreciate the way a Renault does.

If you're looking for somethin practical and around the £15k mark, how about a VW R32? - Very nice car and sounds amazing.

I think you mentioned that you didn't like Imprazas but I've seen new 09 plate WRXs for less than £14k..... bit of a bargain.

If you fancied spending a bit more I've seen 2 year old Audi S3s for £17k on Autotrader.

  11. Hi,

I've got a Vectra I use for commuting and I've got a couple of problems with it.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get Rear Coil Spring and a Front Exhaust Flexi Pipe for a 2005 / 05 plate Vectra 1.9CDTi SRi?

Also, can you recommend any garages in Glasgow or Edinburgh who'd be able to fit these parts well and at a reasonable price?

    Many thanks,

    Gordon

  12. It is awful and awfully funny but as has been pointed out, we all started somewhere.

When I was 17 I cruised around in a jobbie brown Chevette and loved it, I was lucky though, the suspension was so knackered it looked like it had been lowered.

To quote one of my classmates at the time: "Your hellmobile's mean and low man" - I loved that car and I hope the lad who's building the 106 feels the same way about his project.

  13. I gotta disagree guys, I had it on for five minutes at the weekend and had to put it off; I thought it was absolutely awful.

The scene where they all ran through a minefield cringe worthy.

  14. Manny was awesome, no disgrace losing to him at all. I think he'll teach Mayweather a harsh lesson, it'll be a great fight if and when it happens.

The Hatton was on Youtube earlier, I'd also recommend watching a few of Manny's previous fights; he's a bit special.

  15. I’m the best man at my brothers wedding and I’m driving us to the event in my Zed, I was thinking about sticking some white ribbons on it for a bit of a laugh, have any of you guys done this sort of thing? – If so, where did you tie the ribbons and did you do anything else to the car?

    Cheers,

  16. Getting old... 34.

Only advantage is £300 insurance which is my cheapest ever by more than half....... paid more than double that 15 years ago to insure an xr2i TPF&T and 4 x times that to insure an FTO 8 years ago.

I reckon I've spent >£10k on insurance over the years and never made a claim, it's about time I got it cheap!
