Exhaust repair - standard exhaust

Haven't seen this posted before so just in case anyone else wants to do the same...

 

The usual problem - broken at mid pipe to silencer joint, but loads of life left in the rest of the exhaust.

 

 

 

 

 

The fix

 

 

 

 

Easier than trying to weld rotten metal, and at a tenner for a clamp it's far cheaper than fitting a new exhaust that isn't really needed.

Good repair job, I personally just purchased a cobra

I would have gone for an OE exhaust at just under £500, but I didn't see the point in paying that when the rest of it is OK.

A very neat repair - I wish I'd found one of those clamps when I repaired mine.

Did a similar repair myself on my old Impreza years ago. Prolonged the life of the exhaust nicely, ...well until I bought a stainless steel one anyway.

 

Was funny though as when I took mine to a garage once the mechanic there said; "you know someones clamped a baked bean can around the exhaust as a repair"

 

I said "yeah I know, I did that".
