tailgate spring(missing in action)

hi new owner here.had problems opening the tailgate so wrongly assumed it was the gas struts so replaced with new ones only to discover one of the opening springs was missing.searched everywhere for a replacement to no avail.anyone know where I can get one.very embarrassing fighting with the tailgate every time.
