1st to 2nd Shifting When Cold

Hi all I have just got my Z (05 with 9K on the clock) last weekend and I love it. So much better than my last car (Subaru Impreza).

 

I have a question. What is you gear box like when it is cold shifting from 1st to 2nd. My box is very clunky and makes a noise until it is warm. I have taken it back to the dealer and thay said that it is quite normal. Just thought I would find out is this was the norm.

Mine does that too, but after a few miles, it eases up just nicely. I tend to shift from 1st to 3rd during this period as it doesn't sound like the car is hurting so much! As long as you hang on to first a little longer, 1st to 3rd is just fine anyway imo.

Yep, that's quite normal, mine does it all of the time, I quite like the extra-mechanical feel of it.

Yup, me too. Had a Scoob for 4 years before swapping to the Zed, I was pretty sceptical at first, but that went away after, oh, 2 seconds

I've not noticed. My 04 shifts really sweetly right from cold... Then again it's always cold over here so it had better I guess. lol
