  1. What happened Rob? I went back yesterday for a service and to get them to pull out the (broken) stereo again. When I turned up they announced they actually wanted the car for the day as the warranty bits for the throttle problem I had have arrived early. Shame as if they had rung me I could have sorted transport and left the car there all day, but as they could not be arsed to tell me I could only spend a couple of hours waiting twiddling my thumbs, not all day. God I think I would have killed someone. They even tried to get me to come in in 10 days time to get the driveshaft problem fixed (another warranty issue) but when I pointed out that if we leave it a nother week I can get the stereo and the warranty work done in one go "gosh thats a good idea" That's my problem in a nutshell - they don't think about customers' business needs. I can't be the only person in Cardiff who is not able to just pop along to a dealer every couple of weeks.
  2. Nissan dealers.....bah *completes survey in disgust*
  3. Charlie, don't be suprised if you get another recon unit. I am on my 3rd replacement head unit (Wessex Cardiff have "never heard" of the skipping Bose or intermittent left channel speaker problems) and each time they say its fixed this time. Get them to take out the unit, write down the code (assuming they can write of course) and request a warranty replacement. Certainly don't let them take the unit out permanently, it could be months, especially if they have never come accross this before.........
  4. Double post.. Thread locked in favour of this one: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2863 Guys (and Gals) have to be honest and express my total dissatisfaction with my Zed and its (worse) dealer in Cardiff. I have owned the car for just over a year and I was initially seduced by its looks, handling and supremely grunty engine. Was upsold to a GT4 (didn't take much convincing!) as the best factory model, in Kuro. Unfortunately the car does do a lot of miles (23k p.a.)but that was the reason I went for the Zed and not a Boxster or similar, still £30K for a Japanse sports car is a lot of dough. Well I'm on my 3rd BOSE unit, the paintwork is frankly crappy quality and has had to be repaired under an (external) warranty and the seat leather on the driver's side is starting to look like a 5year old repmobile. It just seems to me like simple, basic flaws (poor ICE system, no paint/quality protection and "sensitive" cows) have ruined my experience. However, the dealer has taken the biscuit now. When I complained about the paintwork and interior they asked me to bring the car in for an inspection. Dutifully turned up (time off work again) only to be told that they don't do bodywork in Cardiff, I have to go somewhere else in South Wales and here's their number! When I calmly pointed out that I bought the car from them not the mob 30 miles away they seemed totally uninterested. Now the BOSE unit is faulty (again) and they want the car in to find out the serial number of the faulty unit THEY installed three months ago!! When the obvious question "don't you have the details of the unit you installed last time?" the response was no, they all have a different serial number! There have been other instances but I would be here for hours. All in all I expect this level of service if I had bought a bargain basement runaround, but not that of a company trying to win sales off the Germans (or even Italians!). Perhaps I am being unreasonable in my expectations but all in all its convinced me to sell the car and warn all my friends against buying. Damn shame but never again. The dealer (Wessex Garages) seems unwilling to recognise this poor service level let alone do anything about it.

  6. I regulary get 350 to 375 a tank - but its 90% motorways at (ahem) sensible speeds.
  7. Hi all Can I ask an opinion about a selling price for my GT4? My car is one year old next week and has done 24,500 miles I am doing high miles now with commuting and the fuel bill is crippling (must get lighter feet!) and although the car is great I really need a "sensible" commuting car. Condition is very good with some small front nose blemishes from the motorway miles. Most valuation books only seem to have the std Zed, so if have to PX or private sale would like the learned thoughts on a (realistic) valuation. Cheers
  8. Well done Kenny - I'll keep the secret safe from the guys on the other forum
  9. For everyone's benefit - I am only kidding as I know of Kenny from the SportsAlfa website (I have a 3.0 spider also) and both the GTV and the Zed are great cars.
  10. Was advertising on e-bay a couple of times (sold other cars through this OK) but it never got near what I needed for it. Its a May 2005 GT4 in Kuro. 22,000 miles (I have a motorway commute) with lots of little extras. It owes me £23,750k and I would like to make that back. Retail from a dealer would be £25-26K I believe.
  11. with you on no.3 Gus! Was embarrassed recently on a hill during the ONE day of snow we had down in South Wales - drove up a gentle slope to a junction sideways, looking through the passenger window!
  12. I have been trying to seel my GT4 for a couple of weeks now without too much luck. I had hoped that the residuals would hold up better on the car but if no-one wants to pay the money, it does not matter what the guides say I guess.
  13. Sorry did you say there was a car in the pics too?
