Hi , just given my 2005 JDM roadster a good spring clean...and found a switch in the cubby hole behind passenger seat, beneath the false shelf and it shows picture of boot release and says on / off but what does it do. I have no boot release key fob?

OK so switched it off and no boot release...switched it back on and we have boot release?

It appears that you can prevent boot operation from inside car, but why would you want to when all you need to do is lock the car? seems a bit weird but at least i know what its for!

Is it like a half state you get with passenger door locked but driver open (except for boot operation) for anti-theft or snatch when you are a single person at, say, a petrol station and not in a position to lock the door (ie you are getting in)?

Certainly seems like a feature, although probably more useful for vulnerable females in lawless America? ;)
