Sarnie Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Still only 3 door though. Unreliable. Ugly. Old mans car. Buy an S4 instead. Quote
Kev946 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I very nearly bought a 4200 and had a colleague who had a 3200gt. He loved it even though the engine was plague with problems. The maser purests love the 3200 as it was the last of the Maser engines. Unfortunately major engine problems are not uncommon. The 4200 is a much better bet having a reliable Ferrari V8 with chain cams so no expensive belt replacement and pretty reasonable servicing. I love Masers, they feel bespke, special, hadn built. A class car for class people, if you know what I mean.... Quote
Digsy Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Best thing about the 3200 is the boomerang rear lights. Otherwise steer clear and go for a 4200 if you can afford it. Quote
dunker Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 visited the dealer today and he echoed the thoughts about upping to a 4200 if I could. Didn't realise it has the same engine as the Ferrari 430, more or less. (430 obviously .1 of a litre bigger and enhanced con rods and pistons.) Sounded awsome when started up and in sports mode!!! Kev946 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Be aware that most are the CambrioCorsa which is a full SMG gearbox as the 360 Ferrari, therefore expect clucthes to last 15k miles. This is the only downer really and I expect you would get more miles if your cover motorway mostly. Alternatively go for a manual which are supposed to be a bit agricultural but reliable. If you do test drive a CambrioCorsa ask for help on how to use it. You need to back off the gas a little when you change gear to make it smooth. Quote
Digsy Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 My god it's ugly! You're right, mate, lomoto's not too easy on the eye but the Maser's quite nice! Quote
